  1. Great last 2 matches. Dibiase vs Backlund certainly stole the show.
  2. Always love to see Ole Anderson confident heading into a match, even if he knows that he isn't at his peak anymore. I'm really curious to know who the 3rd man is in the KGB!
  3. Gonna make this official as well: Lutte trades Chris Benoit to JWA for Tatsutoshi Goto, effective after Heatstroke on June 28
  4. Ooh, let's go with Dump vs Ripper then! Me likey!
  5. Feels so weird to see Raven in the ECW environment as another alter ego, even moreso as Scotty Flamingo/Scotty the Party Starter. Looking forward to see where this goes.
  6. This is probably the first time I witness a 2 out of 3 Falls Match in a 6-Men environment other than lucha libre. I thought this was perfectly used to put Leon White over as that big unstoppable hoss as he played a big part in that match. Very well done overall. Also enjoyed the finish to Kabuki vs Bockwinkel!
  7. June 15th, 1986 Sault St. Marie, ON -One Man Gang (w/Floyd Creatchman) beat Tony St. Clair with the 747 Splash in 15:42 -Ken Wayne (w/Floyd Creatchman) beat Stan Lane in 10:40 after a distraction from Floyd Creatchman allowed Wayne to roll up Lane with a handful of tights! -NWA World Light Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit upsets Raymond Rougeau in 9:30 with the flying headbutt. Raymond was still visibily reeling from the assault from the Samoan SWAT Team last night in Vancouver! -Jacques Rougeau beat Mark Youngblood in 15:11 with a sunset flip -NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion The Great Samu (w/Paul E. Dangerously) beat Bruce Hart in 19:06 with a top rope splash. Postmatch, Samu is looking to continue the carnage but the Rougeaus ran in to make the save. They couldn't get their hands on Samu but they could on Paul E. and hit La Bombe Rougeau on him to send the fans home happy.
  8. Sorry, can I get July 5 instead, I mixed up my dates! For the match itself, I'm looking for something a bit rugged to mix my card a bit on July 5. If there's a specific booking I need to respect, I will gladly oblige.
  9. I must say that I certainly didn't expect the Guerreros to drop the belt in San Francisco. Like spaldoni said, the trio of Bockwinkel, Saito & Larry Z will be awfully tough to dethrone....That's IF the egos of Bock and Zbyszko don't get in the way! Bam Bam Bigelow, returning from Japan with some serious momentum, sure made for some formidable competition against Ricky Steamboat. And with Roddy Piper in tow, you never know what's gonna happen next!
  10. Well, that's how useful it is for me to have guys like the Hart Brothers, who are household names in the Prairies and in Western Canada, so I can justify covering that part of Canada. Of course, if Stampede was still around, I would stick to Eastern Canada but why stop there when I can? IRL, Lutte ran shows in Quebec and Ontario mainly, and they run a few shows in Vermont as well until they folded in 1987.
  11. The Neighborhood of Evil is such a cool name, I think it's the first time I noticed it. If there's one guy you don't wanna rile up, it's Big Leon White. Buddy Rose & Doug Somers better get ready! I don't know why but looking at Jake Roberts & Nord the Barbarian's partnership, I can't help but think about Jake's partnership with The Undertaker in 1991. The dynamic is so similar but yet well adapted to that era. Thank God for Spiveymania that Mike Rotundo was there to thwart Patera & Blackwell. Ken Patera, to me, is the biggest threat to both Spivey & Ricky Steamboat's title. Such a dangerous man that you can't never look past!
  12. The Creatchman Family vs any babyface in Lutte was terrific for that exact reason. Eddy could use his contacts in the business to bring in new monsters to feud with the likes of the Rougeaus, Bravos and Martels at any given time. Floyd hasn't fallen to far off the tree!
  13. Lutte would be interested with a touring match from GAEA on July 4th, if possible
  14. NWA Lutte Internationale/International Wrestling TV LIVE June 14th, 1986 Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, BC (A video recap from last week’s AWA vs Lutte special in Appleton, WI is shown featuring the main event between Rick Martel and Tom Zenk, among others. After this, we go to the broadcast booth where Guy Hauray and Édouard Carpentier are waiting to start this week’s show. Guy Hauray: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to NWA Lutte Internationale TV. We’re now 2 weeks away from Heatstroke 86 and we will announce shortly some of the first matches for that date, including a special look at Lutte’s newest acquisition, Japanese star Tatsutoshi Goto. Many things to look ahead with all 3 Rougeaus in action this week. Édouard Carpentier: And we also have the TV Championship on the line this week as Matt Borne defends against Gilles Poisson. We also hope to understand why did Matt Borne attack the Killer Bees last weekend. Word is that Jim Brunzell is furious about that and he wants his shot at Borne. Guy Hauray: We hope to hear from Borne indeed but first, let’s welcome Jacques, Raymond & Armand, the Rougeau Brothers! (All 3 Rougeaus come to the set with a tremendous response from the crowd.) Guy Hauray: Alright, boys, you’re all in action this week, with Armand & Raymond facing the Fabulous Ones in the main event tonight and Jacques squaring off against One Man Gang. However, we received word from Don Kernodle that he will not attend Heatstroke in Saint-Wenceslas, QC in 2 weeks and defend the title there since he fears there will be a prejudiced bias against him and that the NWA will do anything to take the title away from him. Jacques, I’m sure you’re extremely disappointed about this. Jacques Rougeau: Of course, I am, Guy. Whenever you can compete in your home province for a championship match, it’s a huge honor but Don Kernodle’s cowardice doesn’t seem to know any bounds and he doesn’t want to defend the Canadian International Heavyweight Championship in my home province. But you know what? If he wants me to come over in the United States, that’s fine by me. But then again, we know how Don Kernodle does when he faces real competition. Last night, he and the One Man Gang didn’t do that well against the Road Warriors, did they? In due time, I’ll get my championship back. Guy Hauray: And as for you, Armand & Raymond, tonight, you face the Fabulous Ones in the main event. A big opportunity for you to get back in the tag title picture, whether it’s for the Samoan SWAT Team’s titles or even the Road Warriors. Raymond Rougeau: Let’s go one step at a time here, Guy. Whenever Jacques and I wrestle together, we know we can accomplish anything. Hell, we just proved it last year when we were World Tag Team Champions. But Armand and I, we’re still getting our groove together. We’re still a work in progress. But time will show that we’ll be a strong cohesive unit. Tonight, it’s a big test for us against The Fabulous Ones and as good as they are, they’re no Rougeaus and – (Raymond is interrupted by the trio of The Fabulous Ones and the One Man Gang, flanked by the Gang’s manager, Floyd Creatchman) Floyd Creatchman: Are you kidding me? You really believe that you two are better than the Fabulous Ones? You gotta be dreaming here, Rougeaus. My father has always been right about you; they’re handing you everything over here. There’s no way you’re in their league. And as for you, Jacques, I promise you that the One Man Gang will do quick work out of you and the last thing you’ll ever think about is getting your title back. You’re just gonna be thinking about if you’re gonna be walking again when we’re through with you. Jacques Rougeau: You know, Floyd, you’re just as much a weasel as your father is. But I bet you’re as fun to smack around as your old man. (A little bit of shoving around takes place between all 6-men and the Fabulous Ones start getting on Armand Rougeau’s nerves, as Stan Lane slaps Armand in the face! Lane is proud of what he just did but Armand responds in a way that he didn’t anticipate: a right hand to Lane’s face! All hell breaks loose on the set as all 6-men brawl as Floyd Creatchman ducks for cover behind Édouard Carpentier when Jacques, despite having his hands full with One Man Gang, tries to grab him. Eventually, officials and a few wrestlers from the locker room separate all 6 men and they’re forced to return backstage.) Guy Hauray: An explosive start to the show and if it’s any indication, we’re in for a fantastic show tonight! Édouard Carpentier: Once again, Armand Rougeau showing poise when the opposition thinks he’s gonna allow himself to be pushed around. Armand is gaining more confidence inside the ring and outside the ring and it can only be beneficial for him and Raymond working as a tag team. Guy Hauray: Speaking of tag team, this is what will get us started this week so let’s get to the action! Match #1 Tony St. Clair & Sweet Brown Sugar beat The Rock N’ Roll RPMs in 9:14 after St. Clair made Mike Davis submit Match #2 The One Man Gang (w/Floyd Creatchman) beat Jacques Rougeau in 3:51 after a decoy Don Kernodle showed up, back turned to the ring, to distract Jacques. Gang hit the Avalanche in the corner and then a running splash to secure the win. The decoy Kernodle disappeared as soon as the match ended...One Man Gang and Floyd Creatchman decide to stick around at the broadcast booth for the next match.... Match #3 Pirata Morgan beat NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion Kokina Maximus (w/Paul E. Dangerously) in 15:57 when a brawl outside between Paul E and Floyd Creatchman distracted Kokina long enough for One Man Gang to nail Kokina with his chain. Gang dragged Morgan on Kokina allowing Morgan to score a huge upset victory! The Gang and Floyd were then escorted out of the building by security. (Before the next match, a video package of Tatsutoshi Goto plays with some highlights from some of his best matches in Japan.) Guy Hauray: As you could see in this video package, Tatsutoshi Goto is one dangerous man and he’s coming to Lutte Internationale in an attempt to continue where one of his countrymates, former Canadian International TV Champion Super Strong Machine did. Goto will debut at Heatstroke 86 in 2 weeks as he’ll wrestle Gino Brito. Édouard Carpentier: Brito is a former 2-time TV Champion himself but I’m not sure he ever faced a test like the one Goto will give him. This will not be easy. Guy Hauray: Tune in next week because we will announce the name of another newcomer to Lutte Internationale from the land of the Rising Sun who will also debut at Heatstroke! Match #4 NWA Canadian International TV Championship “Maniac” Matt Borne beat Gilles “The Fish” Poisson in 23:45 to retain. After the match, Borne goes to the broadcast booth for an interview. Édouard Carpentier: Matt Borne, congratulations on another successful TV title defense but we’d like to have some explanations on what went down last Sunday when you attacked B. Brian Blair after the Killer Bees tag team match. But first, let’s take a look. (Footage is shown of the Killer Bees celebrating their victory on Sunday night when Matt Borne, wearing half of a Killer Bee mask, assaulted B. Brian Blair with his title belt before being chased off by Jim Brunzell. Back live, Borne is seemingly as amused as he was on Sunday night.) Matt Borne: Life can be funny sometimes, sir.....We spent most of our lives hiding behind a mask so we can camouflage our sincere feelings, our deepest insecurities and our true natures. But the day comes in every man’s life when he’s gotta face himself in the mirror and come to the realization that he’s not the man he thinks he is. You see...what I wanted to demonstrate to the Killer Bees is exactly that. Those men are dastardly. They’re not the goody two-shoes they always pretended to be. They’ve hidden behind masks so many times to achieve whatever they were intending to do but no one dared to put a stop to it until I did. I just gave The Killer Bees a taste of their own medicine. Édouard Carpentier: You mock the Killer Bees of being goody two-shoes and you did exactly the same thing you’re accusing them of? What’s the logic in that? Matt Borne: Mr. Carpentier, the difference between myself and the Killer Bees is that I’m not a goody two-shoes. (Borne retrieves the same half Killer Bee mask he wore last Sunday and puts it on his face). I’m Matt Borne. I’m a maniac, yes, but I never blatantly lied to anyone. I’ve never claimed to be someone or something that I’m not. I’m not a role model nor would I ever be one. But now, Jim Brunzell is looking to avenge his partner and wants a shot at my TV Championship. So, you decided to grow a spine, Brunzell? I’m not so sure but if you do before Heatstroke in 2 weeks, I’ll gladly oblige and expose you to the entire world. In order to be a champion, you have to expose yourself to the fact that you are flawed as a person. That on any given day, this is gonna end. But I’ve always made the most of it and I’m not gonna change that. Jim Brunzell, after Heatstroke, I will give you a perfectly good reason to hide behind that mask of yours... (Matt Borne walks away, laughing.) Édouard Carpentier: I don’t think we’ve ever had a darker mind in this territory than Matt Borne. This man is one perversely sick individual and I don’t know if Jim Brunzell is doing the good move by challenging Borne to a TV title match. Guy Hauray: We’ll see in due time and we should have an answer from Jim Brunzell pretty soon. We’re now getting ready for some more action. Match #5 NWA World Light Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit beat Al Madril in 7:53 with a diving headbutt. During the match, the broadcast team informs the viewers that Benoit will wrestle his last match in Lutte Internationale at Heatstroke against Gilles “the Fish” Poisson. Benoit will then fulfill the rest of his commitments in North America before flying over to Japan, where he’s seeking to continue his wrestling career Guy Hauray: Before our next match, if you’ve joined us last week, you know that Lutte’s newest members Brian Adias and Sunny War Cloud have been at it inside and outside the ring and Adias is even going after Sunny’s latest love interest. He asked her out on a date but he first had to beat The Iron Sheik last night.... Édouard Carpentier: ...which he did, thanks to some accidental interference from Sunny War Cloud and as a result, Adias got his date. And it actually happened earlier today, as I understand it. I think we got some footage. (We see footage from earlier today as Brian Adias and Karen are at their “date”; a hot dog stand. Adias seems to have a good time, but the same cannot be said for Karen...) Karen: Really, a hot dog stand? This is your idea of a date? Brian Adias: Nah, come on, Karine, we barely met, we have to get to know each other. Karen: It’s Karen, not Karine. Brian Adias: Yeah, yeah, yeah...Look, where I come from, there’s no need to go to fancy restaurants and anything to show ladies how to treat ‘em. Good ol’ southern charm does the trick. Karen: Well Sunny treats me well. We go to fancy restaurants. Brian Adias: You expect me to believe that the Indian has got enough money to afford fancy meals with a fine girl like you? The guy’s a loser! You can do much better than that. Karen: Sunny’s a nice man and I certainly can do better than you. I can’t believe I’ve agreed to this. I’m out... Brian Adias: Hey, hey, hey, come back here, where you goin? (Adias grabs Karen by the arm) Karen: Let go of me, I’m sick of this! Brian Adias: Oh no, babe, we’re just getting started. Karen: I said, let me go! (Karen slaps the taste out of Adias mouth.) Brian Adias: Oh, you shouldn’t have done that. ???: You damn right, you shouldn’t have. (Adias barely has time to turn around that Sunny War Cloud jumps on Adias and they start fighting in the street! Karen runs away, asking for help as Sunny sends Adias head first in the hot dog stand. Sunny takes some mustard and ketchup and just sprays it all over Adias. Police officers arrive on the scene just as Karen is able to drag Sunny away. Back to the arena.) Édouard Carpentier: Can you believe that Adias & Sunny must actuall coexist in the match coming up next? Guy Hauray: Well, they thought they could work as a tag team when they both debuted here and they must honor those commitments, whether they like it or not. It’s gonna be quite the test up next! Match #6 Mark Youngblood & Gino Brito beat Brian Adias & Sunny War Cloud when Brito made Sunny submit to the Figure Four Leglock. Towards the end of the match, Adias and Sunny got into an argument and Adias suckerpunched Sunny. Adding insult to injury, Adias even tore up Sunny’s headdress as he walked to the back! (Back from a commercial break, Guy Hauray stands in front of the booth) Guy Hauray: Before we go to our main event, we’re proud to see the success that Andre the Giant is having worldwide as he’s currently competing in Japan for most of the month. While he’s not here with us live this week, we’ve been fortunate enough – and so were the fans in attendance – to witness an unreleased match 2 weeks ago as Andre wrestled Chris Candido when the cameras stopped rolling. Luckily for all of you fans, we can show you this match right now so let’s go see it. Match #7 Exclusive match taped 2 weeks ago as a dark match Andre the Giant beat Chris Candido in 10:49 with a double underhook suplex. Before the main event, Guy Hauray announces that next Friday in Cooksville, ON, “Maniac” Matt Borne will be defending the NWA Canadian International TV Championship against...JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER!!! MAIN EVENT Match #8 The Fabulous Ones beat The Rougeau Brothers in 32:40 when Stan Lane pinned Armand Rougeau. Postmatch, The Great Samu & Prince Alofa Fatu attacked both the Fabulous Ones and the Rougeau Brothers. Dual splashes by Samu on Stan Lane and Fatu on Raymond Rougeau respectively! This week’s show ends with Paul E. Dangerously posing triumphantly with the Samoan SWAT Team and the NWA Canadian International Tag Team Championship belts! À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT!
  15. Yeah, that was a countout win, sorry for the general freakout LOL
  16. Absolutely don't mind that you didn't exactly follow up everything happening in ECW IRL for this one. Looking forward to the continuation of that series!
  17. The Great American Bash card is LOADED. And with the addition of Steamboat vs Blackwell for the AWA World Heavyweight title, only makes it more prestigious!
  18. But, when you look at it, it's something that would've been completely possible behind the scenes in World Class back then, given how Fritz wanted his territory to be run and everything. Yes, it's a really fun challenge to undertake creatively but it's also fun to dive into the mindset of Fritz if that had actually happened. So, big kudos to Gene from me as well on this one!
  19. Wow....there's never a dull moment in World Class!
  20. Keep an eye on this week's Lutte TV for exclusive footage of Karen & Brian Adias' date!
  21. June 13th, 1986 Tiverton, ON -Armand Rougeau beat NWA US Tag Team Champion Rocky Johnson in 14:42 with a missile dropkick Special Attraction: "Dr. D." David Schultz beat Stan "The Lariat" Hansen in 10:36 in a bloody brawl Handicap Match: The Rougeau Brothers beat Gino Brito in 11:10. Originally, it was supposed to be a return match with Andre the Giant being Brito's tag team partner but because of his commitments to Japan, he couldn't make it for this weekend. Guest Referee - Bruno Sammartino: Pirata Morgan beat Stan Lane in 26:07 -Brian Adias beat The Iron Sheik after botched interference from Sunny War Cloud when Adias antagonized War Cloud, who came at ringside to check the match. Per stipulation, Adias now gets a date with Sunny's friend, Karen. -Mark Youngblood beat MS-1 in 10:33 NWA World Tag Team Championship Falls Count Anywhere: The Road Warriors beat NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Don Kernodle & One Man Gang (w/Floyd Creatchman) in 53:34 to retain after a Doomsday Device on Kernodle.
  22. You take stuff too seriously sometimes man I agree. That was akin to say a Hank Aaron saying hed probably hit well against Clayton Kershaw. Clearly meaning healthy and in the prime of his career, all thongs being equal. Even with that considered, it isn't likely to be true still. Bryan went into pro wrestling extremely young and so that is all he knows. There is a big difference in looking good grappling with opponents who you expect to cooperate with you and grappling with opponents who would legitimately fight for every inch in grapples. Unless DB has some extensive background in any martial arts discipline (that I am unaware of), he won't stack up well against any MMA fighter with an ounce of experience. But clearly he's entitled to his opinion, but it is fair to disagree with that notion. I believe Bryan is a blue belt in BJJ but I could be wrong.
  23. You're all set!
  24. I got a solid kick out of the finish of Pillman vs Burke. Totally a thing that Flyin' Brian would've done!
  25. I really like the influx of Japanese talents getting the spotlight in our territories lately. And with the addition of GAEA, I think it can only grow better. We're really doing something really cool. And yeah, I hope we get Steamboat vs Piper soon!
