  1. I loved everything leading to the main event in regards to Chris Adams & Ron Garvin. Everything made perfect sense.
  2. For SmartMark, let's go with Kazuchika Okada vs Minoru Suzuki from Wrestling Dontaku 2013. One of my fave Japanese matches in the past 5 years. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2rxt4i?playlist=x5lx3a
  3. For logistics issues, I would assume that they will go back to a taping format on Tuesdays. Unless they decide to use the Friday slots usually reserved for house shows to become TV dates. Then, both crews would have their weekly commitments from Friday to Monday rather than one crew being Friday to Monday and the other Saturday to Tuesday.

    NXT talk

Totally agreed. Gives something special for the fans and I think the NXT alums love being able to go back for a few shows as well. Win-win for everyone.
  5. You're all set!
  6. Great card in Hampton. Loved the draw finish between Mark Youngblood and Rip Oliver. Perfect example of a great use of a manager during a match!
  7. BREAKING NEWS: KING TONGA AND ARMAND ROUGEAU TO WRESTLE INSIDE A STEEL CAGE LIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT IN CALGARY! Following the vicious attack that Armand Rougeau has been victim of at the hands of King Tonga last week, he has requested to wrestle King Tonga one-on-one inside a steel cage live this Saturday night in Calgary. When asked about the motivations behind his request, here's what Armand responded: This will be one of many big matches on that card as a colossal match featuring Andre the Giant and Kokina Maximus will take place as well!
  8. July 5 will be INSANE. The Von Erichs are gonna be so over down there! And now, the big question: who are now Los Primos Starr's challengers???
  9. Re-subscribed!
  10. This altercation between Don Kernodle and Cpl Kirschner is getting intense week after week! Loving it!
  11. Nothing wrong with that. Truthfully, there are different formulas that work. It just has to suit your vision better.
  12. That's interesting you mention that because personally, I think it depends on how you view your cards when you book them. I've always been a big proponent of having a strong match to kick off a card, a strong match in the middle and your main event being your top match on the card. If I look at LowBlow's card at MSG, that's pretty much the formula he used with the Hart Foundation vs Power & Glory to start, the IC title match being in the "middle" and the WWF title match to close the show. I don't always follow that formula but I'm a firm believer it's the most efficient house show formula to keep people interested.
  13. That's the beauty of the NWA: We can all bring in various talents from our territories and it just enhances our products.
  14. Don't worry about Kokina, he's still gonna be front and center for the rest of 1986. Some really fun stuff coming up. And besides, he's still tag team champion and I want the Samoans to be my top tag team so he's gonna be a big part of that.
  15. I had a huge kick out of Rod Price's promo after his match. You're such a master at goofball heels!
  16. May 18th, 1986 Kitchener, ON -The Great Samu beat Jumpin' Jim Brunzell in 12:52 -Jos LeDuc beat Kokina Maximus in 12:45 Steel Cage: The Creatchman Family (w/Floyd Creatchman) fight The Hart Brothers (Owen & Keith) to a 60-minute time limit draw. The cage was to prevent Floyd to get involved in the match
  17. Usually, if Armand is involved in the losing end of a tag match, he usually is the one taking the fall. Unless I need to set up something for either Jacques or Raymond.
  18. That's exactly the documentary I was talking to you about!
  19. Actually, it's hard to tell because Armand didn't have a career as lenghty as Jacques & Raymond because of his back injury and his career only lasted from 1982 to 1987. I remember that he was scheduled to join Jacques & Raymond in WWF when they jumped IRL in 1986 but his back problems prevented him from doing so (it happened like 1 month before he was supposed to make the jump). I think that Armand felt more the pressure of living up to the Rougeau family name and he had to retire because of that injury, it was really hard for him. A couple of years ago, a local sports station in Quebec had a documentary on the Rougeau family where Armand talks about it. If I knew that there were some English subtitles I could find for it, I'd send you the link because it's really interesting as it covers the entire Rougeau family.
  20. Seems like Pat Tanaka is racking up time limit finishes. But I love it because it also helps establishing him as a credible champion. Being primarily a tag wrestler when I entered the game, now this title reign really shows him as one of the best guys on your roster, right on the cusp of reaching main event level. And whenever you want Ricky Steamboat to have a night off or being featured in a tag format, you can slide Tanaka right in your main event slot and still get something really good out of him.
  21. NWA Lutte Internationale/International Wrestling TV LIVE! May 17th, 1986 Avonlea, SK Quick and Dirty Results -The show started with Jos LeDuc in the ring with Édouard Carpentier to discuss tonight's main event for the NWA Canadian International Tag Team Championship. But before Jos could get anything out, Paul E Dangerously hit the ring with the Samoan SWAT Team. Paul E is incensed that Jos cost Kokina Maximus the NWA National Heavyweight Championship last night and handing it to Jimmy Snuka. Paul E says that if Kokina has to go back to Mid-Atlantic to bring it back here, so be it. But for now, Jos will pay the ultimate price and they're gonna make sure that he doesn't make it to the main event. The Samoans surround Jos LeDuc when....OH MY GOD.....TOMMY RICH IS HERE! AND HE'S GOT A CHAIR IN HAND! Paul E is completely stunned as he sees Tommy Rich standing side-by-side with Jos LeDuc. Jos simply ended the segment by telling Paul E : "Meet my tag team partner....and future tag team champion!" -In the first match of the night, Rolling Thunder defeated the makeshift team of Adrian Adonis (w/Paul E. Dangerously) & Pirata Morgan in 15:22 when an argument started between Adonis and Morgan and Adonis walked out on Morgan. The broadcast team explains that MS-1 wasn't cleared to wrestle after his match last night in Ottawa so Paul E "volunteered" Adonis to be his tag team partner. This seems to be an omen of what's to come for the Dangerous Alliance tonight.... -Gilles "The Fish" Poisson beat Armand Rougeau in 10:42. Armand had his ribs taped following the assault by King Kong Bundy on MACW-TV last week and Poisson took advantage of this. After the match, King Tonga jumped on Armand and attacked his ribs even more. -"Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal beat Richard "Le Magnifique" Charland (w/Frenchy Martin) in 13:34 -Lord Humongous (w/Floyd Creatchman) beat Jacques Rougeau in 15:10 after Jacques was distracted by the American anthem being played, anticipating the appearance of Don Kernodle. Instead, Humongous just squashed him in the corner and hit a powerslam. Clearly, Kernodle is still in Jacques' head... -Chris Candido beat The Cobra in 11:07. The rise of Chris Candido continues! NWA Canadian International TV Championship: "Maniac" Matt Borne beat Steve Keirn in 14:10 to retain -Bobby Fulton beat Gino Brito in 16:42 in a great technical bout NWA Canadian International Tag Team Championship: In the main event, The Samoan SWAT Team (w/Paul E Dangerously & The Great Samu) beat Jos LeDuc & Tommy Rich in 14:57 to retain after The Great Samu attacked Tommy Rich outside, allowing Fatu & Kokina to double-team Jos LeDuc in the ring. After the match, Paul E said he was sick and tired of dealing with Jos LeDuc and it's time for him to move on to some other things. NWA Enforcer Bruno Sammartino comes out and says that Paul E. doesn't get to decide things over here, he does. And it'll be over when he says it's over. Bruno grants Jos LeDuc a chance to settle his grudge with Kokina once and for all tomorrow night in Kitchener, ON. Bruno wants to deal with them separately and collectively. Collectively, Bruno announces that next Sunday night in Calgary, AB, the Samoan SWAT Team will be defending the Tag Team titles against Lutte Internationale's newest tag team. Paul E says it's unfair because Fatu will be in Japan and won't be there to defend the title so he invokes the Freebird rule to have Samu defend the titles with Kokina, which Bruno accepts. As for their separate dealings, Bruno Sammartino says that Fatu will be taken care of in Japan next week during his match in the tour ender, on the same night Rick Martel defends the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Jumbo Tsuruta. As for Kokina Maximus, Bruno says that he would like to see Kokina do to his opponent next week what he's been doing to Jos LeDuc for the past few weeks. Paul E says no matter who it is, he will. Bruno introduces Kokina's opponent for next week: ANDRE THE GIANT!!! Andre comes standing next to Bruno and Paul E is completely apopleptic while Kokina keeps staring Andre. The show ends with separate shots of Andre and Kokina's mammoth staredown! À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT!!!
  22. I'll echo the general sentiment about the Bad News/Sting finish. That also sets up a continuation for a possible showdown between both men in the future. That main event in NYC though between Flair vs Tito! CLASSIC.
  23. Holy Cliffhanger, Batman! Honestly, I was stunned that Baron Von Raschke didn't make it to the finals. But then again, I don't know how big Timothy Flowers was as a wrestler in that area so who am I to judge?
  24. Did they get wrestlers at their Comic Con? They only had some in the first 2 in Quebec City and they haven't had in awhile. Almost considering going to Montreal's if I'd know I wouldn't have too much of a workload this summer.
  25. I don't know. I don't think this is something Mauro likes to come back on and he'd rather focus on the impact of this doc can have for people suffering with mental health issues like he does. I think there's gonna be plenty of stuff to cover that they don't need to even mention JBL.
