  1. Great cards in the Midwest again. Paul Orndorff is proving to be a fighting champion!
  2. "Nikita Koloff killed jobber (stretcher job) Pretty self-explanatory. Nikita is unstoppable!

  4. Lutte Internationale TV Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC Broadcasted August 24th, 1985 (A video package from last week’s Heatwave is shown. We first see Jacques Rougeau winning the tournament to crown a new NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion against Lord Humongous. Then, we see the confrontation between NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair and Rick Martel that lead to Richard Charland & Mad Dog Lefebvre betraying Martel and helping Flair in the attack. Then, after the opening sequence, we go to the broadcast booth where awaits Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier.) Guy Hauray: Hello, wrestling fans, and welcome to Lutte Internationale TV. Heatwave is in the books and we have many new champions across the board. The Midnight Rockers are officially once again the NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champions following a somewhat controversial victory over the Vachons in Stoney Point, ON last Sunday. In fact, the Vachons have invoked their rematch clause and it will take place on Sunday September 8th in Trois-Rivières, QC. We also crowned a new TV Champion as Super Strong Machine came through with his promise and has dethroned Gino Brito for the title. But of course, we can’t go on before congratulating Jacques Rougeau on becoming the new NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion after winning this 8-men 1 night tournament, by gaining some measure of revenge on Lord Humongous, who pinned him to secure the NWA World Tag Team Championship for the Creatchman Family last June in Charlotte, NC. Édouard Carpentier: Lots of exciting matches last weekend and a brand new landscape in Lutte Internationale. It will be very interesting to see who will be the first men to step up to the plate and challenge those new champions. Guy Hauray: Also, we can’t ignore the elephant in the room as we hope to have some answers from Frenchy’s Legion about their actions at Heatwave against Rick Martel. Frenchy, Richard Charland & Mad Dog Lefebvre are all here this week so there should be no reason why they wouldn’t give us those answers. Édouard Carpentier: A leopard doesn’t change its spots, Guy. We should’ve known from the start that this would happen. Lefebvre & Charland didn’t care about L’Alliance Québécoise. They were looking for an occasion to stab Rick Martel in the back and they did just that at Heatwave. Guy Hauray: Well, we might have our answers very shortly since Mad Dog Lefebvre among others is in action in our opening 6-Men Tag Match! Match #1 Steve Strong, Mad Dog Lefebvre (w/ Frenchy Martin & Richard Charland) & Dory Funk Jr vs Ezra Steffen, Will Daniels & Piers Martell The most striking thing noticeable in this match is that Mad Dog Lefebvre isn’t even in wrestling gear. In fact, he’s wearing a tuxedo! Mad Dog refuses to get in the ring at all during this match, as he doesn’t want to ruin it! This doesn’t prevent Steve Strong & Dory Funk Jr to be dominant during the match and Steve Strong locks Ezra Steffen into a bearhug. As Steffen is about to quit, NOW Mad Dog wants the tag from the young Strong. Mad Dog steps inside the ring and makes the cover, securing the victory for his team. Winners: Steve Strong, Mad Dog Lefebvre & Dory Funk Jr (After the match, Lefebvre, Richard Charland & Frenchy Martin all celebrate together, completely ignoring Steve Strong & Dory Funk Jr. They return to the back, not paying attention themselves to what happened and Frenchy’s Legion join the broadcast booth for an interview.) Édouard Carpentier: Frenchy, obviously, the question all of us are dying to ask you: why did your men betray Rick Martel at Heatwave? (Translation : Mr. Carpentier, it’s not a betrayal if it wasn’t a friend in the first place. Rick Martel never was a friend for Richard and Mad Dog. Martel used my Legion to get what he wanted. So what we did on Saturday night was just a reminder that there’s no one to help Martel. Rick Martel isn’t Ric flair. Ric Flair is a true champion. A champion with class and prestige. Rick Martel is a neighbourhood champion who’s nowhere near that level. We were just thrilled to remind him that on Saturday) Édouard Carpentier: But what was in for you, guys? And what’s....this? (Translation : This, Mr. Carpentier, is a gift graciously offered by the NWA World Heavyweight Champion himself. To thank us for our help, he granted us the opportunity to get something from him. I asked for the best cigars in the world and I got them. Richard Charland requested a title match against Ric Flair and he graciously accepted to give him one tonight. And as for Mad Dog, would you look at this tuxedo? Mad Dog went shopping with Flair himself this week and this is custom made. $5000, Mr. Carpentier. So you’ll understand why he doesn’t want to be touched.) Édouard Carpentier: But isn’t it rubbing it into everyone’s face? Anyone could’ve done that themselves and Ric Flair would’ve done the same thing for them they did for you. (Translation : I’ll put that on jealousy, Mr. Carpentier. Perhaps I would react just like you, But for now, in preparation for his big fight tonight, you’ll see Le Magnifique in action against one of those masked Japanese guys. Just so that Ric Flair knows that despite our friendship, Richard takes tonight’s match very seriously!) (Frenchy leaves the broadcast booth along with Richard Charland to head into the ring. While the interview was going on, Charland’s opponent Strong Machine #2 entered the ring, ready to face Le Magnifique.) Match #2 Strong Machine #2 vs Richard “Le Magnifique” Charland (w/Frenchy Martin & Mad Dog Lefebvre) The Strong Machines are usually aggressive, which is nothing new, but in the current circumstances, Strong Machine #2 looks particularly aggressive. He almost leaves no time to Charland to get some offense in. Charland is able to get his moments in there but Strong Machine is just wrestling a style that Charland isn’t prepared for. Unusual tactics for Strong Machine #2’s usual gameplan. Strong Machine #2 trips Richard Charland and locks in....a Boston Crab? Both exhausted and shocked by how the match went, Charland quickly taps out and Strong Machine #2 scores a huge win for himself! Winner: Strong Machine #2 The match has barely ended that Strong Machine #2....unmasks??? IT IS RICK MARTEL!!! The crowd goes nuts as Mad Dog Lefebvre immediately runs backstage, almost tripping in the camera cables, just to be sure that Martel won’t damage his suit. Both Charland and Frenchy are tetanised in fear as Martel goes for them. Charland escapes the ring but Martel has grabbed Frenchy! Martel is about to punch Frenchy when Charland grabs Frenchy by the leg and drags him out of the ring. They also run backstage and Rick Martel is right behind them, seeking revenge for Heatwave! Guy Hauray: Eddie, I have rarely seen Rick Martel in that frame of mind. He’s irate and if I were Mad Dog Lefebvre, I would hide that tuxedo as far away from him as possible! Édouard Carpentier: I wouldn’t put it past Rick to tear that tux from Mad Dog Lefebvre’s buddy. One thing is for sure, it’s that he won’t rest until he gets his revenge on Frenchy’s Legion. Might happen sooner rather than later. Guy Hauray: When we come back, The Great Samu in action! ****COMMERCIAL BREAK**** Match #3 The Great Samu (w/Eddy “The Brain” Creatchman) vs “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal During the match, the broadcast team hyped Steve Regal’s recent successes, including a strong showing in the NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship tournament, despite his loss in the first round. Regal doesn’t seem to be too much affected by that and shows some great skills early in the match against The Great Samu. But eventually, Samu’s experience is too much to overcome for Mr. Electricity. The Great Samu finishes things off with a beautiful Samoan Splash from the top rope to get the win. Winner: The Great Samu ******COMMERCIAL BREAK****** MAIN EVENT Match #4 Baron von Raschke (w/Bolshevik Revolution) vs Chavo Guerrero (w/Hector & Mando Guerrero) Lots of people at ringside for this main event and referee Adrien Desbois is laying down the law early that he won’t tolerate any shenanigans from them. Another complete clash of styles in this one as Von Raschke’s brute tactics square off with Chavo Guerrero’s science & speed. Von Raschke seems a bit overwhelmed at first as Chavo’s lucha libre style comes in handy to destabilize the German. But as the match progresses, thanks sometimes to help from the outside from Smirnoff & Zhukov, Von Raschke gains control of the match and neutralizes Chavo a bit. As the match nears the end, Smirnoff & Zhukov get more and more involved and this prompts chaos outside the ring. Right at that moment, Rick Martel shows up again and smacks Zhukov & Smirnoff with a chair shot in the back! Von Raschke steps outside to defend his comrades and gets the same treatment! The Guerreros know better than to aggravate Martel at that moment and they choose to retreat backstage. Rick Martel drops the chair after everyone left and he’s now headed to the broadcast booth. Édouard Carpentier steps in to interview Martel but he motions to him that he’ll be fine. Rick Martel: This message is for you, Ric Flair. Nature Boy, if you thought that this weekend was the end, you thought wrong. You just started something that you won’t be able to finish as the World Heavyweight Champion. I proved to you during the Great American Bash Tour that I can beat you and hadn’t it been from your manager JJ Dillon, I would’ve won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship the night before Heatwave. So what I’m gonna do is this; first, I’m gonna take care of Frenchy Martin, Richard Charland & Mad Dog Lefebvre. And then, when I’m through with them, I’m gonna go for you and your championship. It doesn’t matter how many people you send after me; I won’t rest until I take the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from you. You thought you outsmarted me; you thought you broke my spirit. All you did is fuel my hunger and my motivation. Mark my words, Nature Boy. I will get the last laugh and if I have to return to your backyard to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title, so be it. But I promise you that we’ve only just begun! (The show ends under a thunderous ovation in the studio for Rick Martel as he hands over the mic to Guy Hauray before they do their usual end of the show and the credits roll.) À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT!
  5. Must say that I didn't expect Iceman Parsons to join the Nation of Domination. Things are heating up in Memphis!
  6. Who knows....maybe it's not that fructful to take care of an orphanage in Tijuana.
  7. Well, we never had the explanation as to why Triple H helped Owens win the title but why all of a sudden, would he be against KO? Because he dropped the title to Goldberg in record time at Fastlane?
  8. Under what circumstances would you say that Triple H could have a program with Kevin Owens? I understand the logic behind Shane, but KO?
  9. August 23rd, 1985 Vancouver, BC -Dory Funk Jr beat Rip Oliver (w/Sherri Martel) in 13:34 -Richard "Le Magnifique" Charland (w/Frenchy Martin) beat Steve Strong in 10:33 -"Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal beat Mando Guerrero in 12:38 -SMW's Dirty Rhodes beat Thunderbolt Patterson in 1:56 -NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion Marty Jannetty beat Ivan Putski in 9:13 -Strong Machine 3 beat Baron Von Raschke in 15:40 after an illegal switch with Super Strong Machine -The Creatchman Family (Prince Alofa Fatu & The Great Samu, w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) beat The Rougeau Brothers in 12:13 NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Ric Flair beat "Ace" Bob Orton (w/Sherri Martel) in 13:46 to retain
  10. I'll wait for the others to chime in just in case but thanks to pointing out the 1989 retirement. I thought LeDuc had an extended trip to Japan at that time, which seemingly wasn't the case.
  11. Couple of things I'd like to run with everyone in the Project here: 1- I noticed that Jos LeDuc isn't currently in the database, on anyone's roster or in the free agent list so I wanted to see if anyone would object to have him added, considering that he didn't retire officially until 1995. I have no problem seeing him being added via the Fresh Face draft, like we did with Percy Pringle. I'll just have to wait and pray that he isn't taken before I want him lol 2- Also, this is the tricky part. As you know, Eddie Creatchman is on my roster and while he has been active during the Project through 1984 and 1985, IRL, he missed those two years to care for his ailing wife, who died from cancer in 85. That's when his son Floyd transitioned from wrestler to manager and they co-existed together in the Creatchman Family until the end of the Lutte territory in 1987. So, I was wondering if anyone would object to Floyd being added to the Project & and if I could use him already in a roster spot as soon as he's entered in the game. Does anyone have objections to either? Any suggestions as well?
  12. Damn, very solid slate of shows. The Hiroshima Wrecking Crew are absolute monsters. Seems like every territory right now has that one team steamrolling the competition!
  13. The time is accurate. I always throw a Broadway + extra once in a while

  15. August 18th, 1985 Stoney Point, ON -The Creatchman Family (Prince Alofa Fatu & The Great Samu) beat The Sensationals (Billy Robinson & Rip Oliver, w/Sherri Martel) in 18:32 -Richard "Le Magnifique" Charland (w/Frenchy Martin) beat Bruce Hart in 8:44 6-Men Tag: The Creatchman Family (NWA World Tag Team Champions Botswana Beast & Lord Humongous & Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) beat The Guerreros in 11:49 No DQ Match: The Strong Machines beat Bob Backlund & Raymond Rougeau in 18:05 -Gilles "The Fish" Poisson beat Ivan Putski in 14:23 -Rick Martel beat Mad Dog Lefebvre (w/Frenchy Martin) in 11:55. Martel didn't even wait for Lefebvre to make his way to the ring before he jumped him in the aisle! -The Sensationals (Bob Orton & The Masked Sensational - the Spoiler in a different mask, w/Sherri Martel) beat The Bolshevik Revolution (Smirnoff & Zhukov) in 17:17 NWA Canadian International Tag Team Championship: The Midnight Rockers beat Interim Canadian International Tag Team Champions The Vachons in 66:05 to officially regain their titles. However, there seems to be some controversy as Shawn Michaels' foot was under the bottom rope when he pinned Paul Vachon with a school boy!
  16. If you watched GFW tonight, don't worry; you didn't fall in a time warp. We're still in 2017.
  17. Well, I'm sure that Scott Dawson getting injured a few weeks ago didn't help, considering that The Revival were scheduled to wrestle the Hardys at Summerslam.
  18. Solid main event in Portland. I bet Buddy Rose probably had some babyface reactions in that match.
  19. Bruno also has with him a set of Interim Canadian International Tag Titles, slightly different from the official ones that will be given to the winners of tonight's tag title bout. The winners will face the Midnight Rockers in Stoney Point, ON tomorrow night. Lord Humongous moves on to the finals. NWA Canadian International TV Championship: Super Strong Machine beat Gino Brito in 8:04 with the Machine DDT to win the title - TITLE CHANGE!!! -Up next, a special appearance from NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair and his manager, JJ Dillon. Flair taunts the crowd by saying that if they want to see what a real World Champion looks like, they are seeing one right there. Flair says that he proved last night without a shadow of a doubt that Rick Martel was not in his league and he dissipated any doubt following the Great American Bash Tour that Martel could beat him for the title. And if Martel still feels like he's gonna beat him again, he's gonna prove him wrong....again. That brought out Rick Martel but he didn't came alone as Mad Dog Lefebvre & Richard Charland joined him. Rick Martel tells The Nature Boy that he isn't one to make any excuses but he won last night because of the involvement of JJ Dillon in the match. Martel says that he wants a rematch tonight and he brought along members of L'Alliance Québécoise to ensure that JJ Dillon doesn't get involved tonight. Ric Flair answers that first of all, he's not dressed to wrestle tonight. Second of all, he knows that Martel isn't 100% and both of them know that the result would be the same than last night since his knee definitely isn't better than it was last night. And 3rd, Ric Flair wisely suggests to Rick Martel to better choose his friends....upon which, Mad Dog Lefebvre chop blocks Rick Martel!!! CHARLAND & LEFEBVRE HAVE BETRAYED MARTEL!!! The crowd is irate as Flair, Charland & Martel put the boots on Martel's knee! As Lefebvre & Charland restrain Martel on the mat, Ric Flair locks in the Figure Four on Martel, who's screaming in pain. Flair taunts Martel even more until a slew of wrestlers run in to stop the carnage. People check on Martel while Ric Flair shakes hands with both Mad Dog Lefebvre & Richard Charland! It looks like Flair & Frenchy's Legion had planned it all along! NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship Finals: Jacques Rougeau beat NWA World Tag Team Champion Lord Humongous (w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) with a flying dropkick to win the title! The crowd erupts as Montreal's favorite son is handed the NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship. His brothers Raymond & Armand join in the celebration to close the show as Jacques also is congratulated by Frank Valois and Bruno Sammartino for his title victory. http://challonge.com/l28rxy0o
  20. I'm so jealous, I won't lie. Heard nothing but great things about that new release.
  21. At that time, to be honest, I don't know because Lutte Internationale weren't running shows in Ontario yet. (I believe they did so towards the tail end of their existence in 1987). But because Martel was on the Big Time Wrestling roster when I moved the territory to Montreal from Detroit - and under the assumption that some Canadians crossed the border to attend the Big Time shows at that time - I thought it would make sense for him to be as over as he would be in Montreal in the Toronto area.
  22. Hogan vs Nikita inside a steel cage with Andre as the guest enforcer? Windham vs Rude? Count me in! Awesome SNME!
  23. No worries, guys. I got you all covered with Heatwave tomorrow
  24. August 16th, 1985 CNE Coliseum, Toronto, ON Night 3 of Tripleheader -The Spoiler beat Strong Machine 3 in 10:19 -"Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal beat Strong Machine 2 in 11:58 -Bob Backlund & Mando Guerrero beat Bolshevik Revolution (Zhukov/Von Raschke) in 18:48. Backlund replaced Chavo Guerrero, who was attacked by Alexis Smirnoff as he made his way to the ring. Backlund ran in to chase off Smirnoff and offered to Mando to take Chavo's place. -Prince Alofa Fatu (w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) beat Hector Guerrero in 12:55 -The Midnight Rockers beat Quebec Heavyweight Champion Armand Rougeau & Raymond Rougeau in 8:10 -NWA World Tag Team Champion Botswana Beast (w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) beat Jacques Rougeau in 15:42. Postmatch, Beast hit multiple splashes on Rougeau before being stopped by officials... NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Ric Flair (w/ JJ Dillon) beat Rick Martel in 26:42. While Flair distracted referee Adrien Desbois in the ring, JJ Dillon chopblocked Martel on his bad knee and removed his shoe to hit him. However, Mad Dog Lefebvre & Richard Charland ran in to attack Dillon, who still had time to toss his shoe to Flair in the ring while the referee was trying to throw Lefebvre & Charland out. That gave Flair enough time to strike Martel with the shoe and pin him to retain his championship.
  25. Great card again. Has Adrian Street finally found the right partner?
