  1. Got a serious kick out of "Special Forces" Bundy. Must say that I didn't expect him to go that route at all but that's gonna make things really interesting going forward.
  2. Holy crap, what a brawl to end Superstars!
  3. I would've had even more star power had it not been for the Great American Bash Tour. Original plans had Ric Flair defending the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Baron Von Raschke but obviously couldn't happen. So I sent Baron Von Raschke and some others for the Bash tour on that date instead.
  4. BREAKING NEWS: ANDRE THE GIANT'S FINAL DATE WITH NWA LUTTE INTERNATIONALE KNOWN Andre the Giant notified NWA Lutte Internationale promoter Frank Valois & the National Wrestling Alliance that due to his particular contractual situation with the WWF, he would no longer be able to fulfill any other commitment past August 11. So it's at this date that Andre will finish off his dates with Lutte Internationale and he has requested to wrestle Bob Backlund in his final bout with the territory. The NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship will be defended on this date if Andre is still the champion. Should Andre still be the champion after the August 11 event at CNE Coliseum in Toronto, he will vacate the championship and a new champion will be crowned 6 days later at Vague de Chaleur/Heatwave live from Centre Paul-Sauvé in Montreal in a one-night 8-men tournament. More details will be released, should Lutte Internationale come to this situation.
  5. July 20th, 1985 Winnipeg, MB Lumberjack Match: Prince Alofa Fatu (w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) beat Richard "Le Magnifique" Charland (w/Frenchy Martin) in 13:47 -Dory Funk Jr beat Dino Bravo in 17:03 6-Men Tag: NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champions The Midnight Rockers & The Spoiler beat The Sensationals & Crusher Blackwell (w/Sherri Martel) in 12:39 NWA Canadian International TV Championship Falls Count Anywhere Match: Gino Brito beat Steve Strong in 16:05 to retain NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship: Andre the Giant beat Rick Martel in 24:56 to retain
  6. NWA Lutte Internationale TV Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC Broadcasted July 20th, 1985 Again, time constraints are forcing me to use recap mode. Should be back to the normal format next week. -Kicking off this week's show is the tag team match featuring the team of Richard Charland & Mad Dog Lefebvre vs "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal & his mystery partner. And Frenchy's Legion was in for quite a surprise when Regal introduced his partner: RICK MARTEL! Turned out that Regal & Martel gelled surprisingly well together in the match, having their moments but eventually, Frenchy Martin's involvement to teach Regal a lesson outside cost Mr. Electricity the match as he was counted out, allowing the victory to Charland & Lefebvre. Rick Martel wasn't too pleased by the tactics of Frenchy Martin outside and gave Frenchy's Legion a piece of his mind. Looks like L'Alliance Québécoise might already have some cracks... -Gilles "The Fish" Poisson then came out for an interview at the desk. Poisson basically complained about how much attention have been given to the Guerreros since their arrival in the territory. Poisson says he's heard a lot about how their father Gory Guerrero taught them how to use his infamous Gory Special and he frankly believes that there's no way he would ever tap out to this submission maneuver. Poisson even believes he's a better submission artist than any of the Guerreros. Poisson vows to expose the Guerreros and run them out of the territory by the end of the summer! -Up next, Bob Backlund goes into the ring one-on-one with one half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions, the ever dangerous Botswana Beast along with Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman. It should be no surprise to anyone that The Brain tried to influence the course of the match and interfere in the match. Creatchman almost was successful in his master plan to defeat Backlund but in the end, referee Luigi Macera caught Eddy red-handed with the cane and threw him out of the studio! A distracted Botswana Beast then fell prey to a roll-up by Bob Backlund and the veteran scored an oh-so-important victory! -It's main event time with the much anticipated Falls Count Anywhere Match featuring NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Andre the Giant and one member of the Machines. While many expected Super Strong Machine to take the challenge to Andre, it's gonna be Strong Machine 3 showing up to wrestle the behemoth. However, it doesn't take long for the Machines to take advantage of the No DQ format of a Falls Count Anywhere match as they take turns beating up and trying to weaken the champion. However, luckily for Andre, NWA Canadian International TV Champion Gino Brito & Dino Bravo came to Andre's aid as Gino jumped on Super Strong Machine & Dino neutralized Strong Machine 2 in the process. It's in complete chaos that Andre will finally score the victory with a double underhook suplex outside the ring, right in front of the broadcast booth to retain his championship. This week's episode ended with a staredown between Gino Brito & Super Strong Machine and if we could see through Super Strong Machine's mask, he would definitely have stared daggers at the TV champion. Andre celebrated with his friends Gino & Dino! À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT!
  7. Jim Cornette always cracks me up. Now, his momma's lawyers are getting involved!
  8. July 19th, 1985 Burnaby, BC -Alexis Smirnoff beat NWA World Tag Team Champion Lord Humongous (w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) in 9:23 -NWA World Tag Team Champion Botswana Beast (w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) beat Strong Machine 3 in 9:57 -Crusher Blackwell beat Billy Robinson (w/Sherri Martel) in 14:28 -NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion Shawn Michaels beat Boris Zhukov in 14:09 NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship 4-Corner Elimination Match: Andre the Giant beat Dino Bravo, Dory Funk Jr & Hector Guerrero to retain the championship at 40:30 Order of elimination: -Hector Guerrero by Andre following a double underhook suplex -Dory Funk Jr by Dino Bravo following a side slam -Dino Bravo by Andre following a double underhook suplex
  9. Things are picking up in the island! I'm expecting Manny Fernandez to be a top dog in WWC in a short amount of time!
  10. As a kid, the one time I sobbed & wept uncontrollably was for the buildup of Hogan vs Sid at Wrestlemania VIII when it was becoming apparent that Hogan was leaving and not coming back. Took me days to recover and my brothers brought that up to me a lot as a kid. In recent years, I'd have to go with the Horsemen Reunion in Greenville on Nitro in September 1998. Just that pop that Flair gets when he's introduced by Arn Anderson makes me well up instantly.
  11. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Didn't expect Ron Fuller to be turning on his brother Robert and Jimmy Golden at all!!!
  12. Oh man, Choshu vs Jumbo was absolutely stunning. Fantastic match and it's not even the semis!
  13. Nebraska Smith hasn't officially debuted yet and he's already my favorite character!
  14. I suspect that Austin Idol got intentionally counted out but that's just me.
  15. Most definitely the most significant TV to date for Continental as far as I'm concerned. The dynamic is now switching over to Continental for Fritz and Austin Idol better look out because he won't no longer be able to run roughshod in the territory. If Kevin pulls it off at the Sportatorium, it will be epic. And it's only fitting that the battle of the Stud Stables ends up with a winner takes all stipulation!
  16. And lots of angry fans. I'm thinking of using a "heels ascending" angle to set up my big January Show. I hope I can do as good a job of that as you are doing here. No doubt about it. Every territory is firing all cylinders right now!
  17. I don't want to toot my own horn but I think you're gonna be thoroughly entertained by some jobber names I came up with for the future.
  18. Great card in Montreal. Looks like The Nature Boy isn't invincible after all!
  19. The feud between Hotstuff & The King is heating up! Lots of interesting actions in both Nashville & New Orleans!
  20. Rough night for Kendall Windham: working Outlaw Ron Bass AND Big John Studd back-to-back!
  21. Solid TV again. Huge victory for the Samoan Connection! Also looking forward to the UWF North American Title rematch!
  22. July 14th, 1985 Exhibition Stadium, Toronto, ON Match taking place during halftime of a Toronto Argonauts game Guest Referee - Angelo Mosca: Crusher Blackwell defeated Gilles "The Fish" Poisson
  23. I'm gonna go name generator hunting for this!
  24. Nice, excellent then. I'm completely on board with this then. As soon as we can start using random jobbers, that's definitely what I'll do for TV.
  25. July 13th, 1985 McGregor, ON -Billy Robinson (w/Sherri Martel) beat "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal in 10:59 -Strong Machine 3 upsets Rick Martel in 16:15 after an illegal switch with Super Strong Machine -The Rougeau Brothers beat The Bolshevik Revolution (Smirnoff & Von Raschke) with La Bombe Rougeau at 14:12 6-Men Tag: The Strong Machines (Super Strong & Strong Machine #2) & Steve Strong beat The Heartbreakers in 6:09 -Mando Guerrero beat Larry Zbyszko in 6:40 NWA Canadian International TV Championship: Gino Brito beat Dory Funk Jr in 14:20 to retain
