Also WWE actually had a written statement from Roman about it on Raw, which they managed to somehow (awkwardly and kind of grossly) tie into hype for Payback. Before that I don't think they'd ever mentioned the two being related more than once or twice in the very early days of the Shield. Probably for pretty obvious reasons since Rosey was a comedy character for most of his WWE run. But I really doubt many people in that crowd even remembered. Rosey was such a small blip on the WWE radar. Shit, I had forgotten about him dying until you mentioned it.

I've been saying that since he was Tyler Black. Compare his selling at WM and even last night (which was better than WM, but still the story is his leg is fucked and he was still doing triple dives and frog splashes before and after leg work) to Roman's last night, who sold from his entrance to after the match and never used his bad arm once in the match for anything.

Braun/Roman was excellent. Fans not buying into Roman as the best main event face since Bret Hart is absolutely baffling at this point.

Watching some of the Misawa/Jumbo feud. That shit was rude as hell. I swear I heard poor Kikuchi's jaw break on the lariat. Also I've come to the realization that I definitely prefer Kawada in a secondary role as a tag guy than as a main event singles guy. I'll go even farther and say I prefer Kawada as Misawa's partner than opponent.

Winning the MITB briefcase means you're basically guaranteed to win the title. Ergo, it is money in the bank. Speaking of, I'd love to see Sami win MITB and then lose the cash in.

I think Jack/Bate was very, very dull. Half speed WOS stuff that went absolutely nowhere without building to anything, with about 40 seconds of action right at the end. Weird since both guys have done far, far more exciting stuff under the WWE banner in matches nowhere near as exciting seeming.

RNR themselves were a knock off of The Fabs, so it's kind of weird to me that the topic is about RNR clones.

Imagine a movie based on the Playboy interview, with parental molestation, wanting to kill his step dad/s, and having a strong desire to put crushed leaves in his cousin's vag. That interview basically made it clear why he's such a fucked up dude and had such a strong obsession with incest angles with his kids for a few years.

The AJPW/Noah Spilt - Online fans perspective from that time

Well, it's also obvious that Misawa was better than Kawada and Kawada really shouldn't have ever been pushed ahead of him for any more than a few matches at a time. But with Rikio, they gave him that position way too early. Two years into his career to be ending Kobashi's legendary title reign was bound to ruffle feathers. After he dropped the title, you'll notice that anyone fresh had short reigns while established stars like Taue, Akiyama, and Sasaki had far longer reigns. NOAH did a poor job of making the younger guys look like they were dominant champions who should have long reigns. How the fuck Go got a reign before KENTA is beyond me. But even so, Go's reign(s) were dwarfed by guys a generation or two before him both before and after. And by that time, the bottom was already falling out so it didn't matter much anyway. NOAH seemed to be very skittish with post Four Corners guys getting title reigns if they didn't immediately improve business. You know, until the Four Corners were dead or retired. -
Is it bad my first thought was, "Was Ric the drunk driver that caused the accident?"

The curtain call show was recorded from at least a hard cam, but they've insisted on using the fan cam footage for 20 years for whatever reason. I assume nearly all house shows were recorded on a single cam shot even after they stopped airing them on MSG or Boston.

I have no idea why Punk would open himself up to that again. Exposed in MMA to getting exposed by a Real World cast member. he's almost 40 and at his absolute physical peak wasn't really an athlete. If it comes down to Punk vs Puck, I'm taking Puck every time.

He has a bit of a lisp even when speaking Japanese if that's what you mean.

Having Dolph come out to call Nak a freak pedo and then have Nak cut a promo in exaggerated Japanese to WHAT chants is certainly a great way to start off the Nak era of SD.

The Owen/Bret iron man match might finally see the light off day.

See, what would be the point of that? Is the Wrestlefest '94 version of poor video quality? You can literally watch that anytime you want on Dailymotion or Youtube. The point is I would want to see it it in the highest quality possible instead of garbage ass Dailymotion streaming The fuck you mean what would be the point? Yeah, how weird I 'd want to see it in quality good enough for HD TVs. It's an Unseen Matches DVD. You've seen the match. It's on a Coliseum Video. It's on a modern DVD. But yeah, I'm the obtuse one. WWE had put up "never before seen" matches on the Network that were in fact seen before either broadcast or on CHV tapes. It is not unreasonable to assume that some of the stuff put on it will have already been released at some point. I wasn't aware it was on the Hart and Soul DVD because the version on the Network doesn't have it, meaning the highest quality version is either a 7 year old out of print DVD or a 23 year old vhs.

They're never going to have Sasha turn on Bayley because they need her to cut Bayley's promos for her every week

Hopefully Steiners vs Harts in upgraded quality makes the cut.

Has any other top star had such a lackluster career like Orton?
stro replied to rzombie1988's topic in Pro Wrestling
He had some lackluster PPV matches, but they weren't because of him. Specifically the Feb 1996 IYH with HBK that was basically a fucking comedy match. That's my go to example of why face HBK was fucking trash. -

Orton acts like he's offended he still has to do this wrestling shit. I've never seen a guy at his level of 15 year push come off like he wants to be in the ring less. -
Jericho has definitely been a full on comedy character for the past year. The stuff with Dean, even with thumbtacks, was comedy straight through, and the KO angle was literally like 8 months straight of comedy segments, 1 week of a comedy segment that got serious, and then back to comedy.

The story they're building to is the Rainmaker is no longer a death move, which is why he doesn't even try to make a pin after the first one anymore. Matches that used to take 15 minutes take him 30 now, so he's working harder and struggling to put opponents away, which will eventually lead to him being stretched beyond his means and dropping the title. Which is a fine story and all, but I don't think his matches this year are as good as last year. Or the year before. And maybe even the year before that.

See, I feel like all of Okada's matches FEEL like they have a lot of downtime even when they don't. There's always a 10 minute chunk where he seems completely uninterested in what he's doing. To me at least. But it's not hard to see why he's getting so much criticism: A guy being touted as being the best in the industry/in decades is going to get a more critical eye than anyone else. I want to be clear I'm not saying Okada isn't great. What I am saying is I don't think he's having as good of a year as he was having at this time last year, let alone the best year in 28 years.
