  1. Just watched this and really loved it - Kingston and Thatcher have to be two of the best around at making a match seem like an absolute war.
  2. Really enjoyed that; thanks for setting it up! Looking forward to more.

    Darby Allin

Allin always seems like he's read JR's criticism of people standing around to catch anyone jumping out of the ring, and is responding to it by trying his best to make sure they DON'T catch him. It's both incredible to watch and fairly terrifying. I don't think he'd make my list currently but if he carries on as he is for 5 years then he could end up really high for me.

    Brock Lesnar

I wasn't watching for much of Brock's run but I've caught various matches looking back, and I definitely think they hold up. Initially, I was low on him because I'm frustrated that WWE seem to have relied on him so heavily, and I think Strobogo makes a great point that as far as I can tell barely anyone's ended up being elevated by matches with him. But watching the matches, I think he's going to end up pretty high for me because he is SO damn good. He captures my attention in a way virtually no other WWE wrestlers of the last decade have, and (again as Strobogo said) he just has this incredible aura which barely anyone else recently can touch.
  5. As someone who's potentially not participating due to having a huge amount of gaps, this would be SUPER-interesting to listen to/helpful, yeah. My current base of knowledge is AEW and NXT from late 2020 onwards, WWF/WCW late 90s, classic World of Sport, a small amount of random stuff from the last 20 years, and a rapidly growing amount of 80s joshi. (Which is enough to know that if I do vote, Bull and Aja are in pole position for top 2 places.) I only want to vote if I can cover a reasonable amount of my gaps, but there are SO MANY damn gaps that it's hard to have any idea where to start - people sharing ideas on how they're tackling this would be awesome.

    Pete Dunne

Also been watching Dunne for a decade or so, I remember him as a fairly bland tag wrestler in Shrewsbury's EDW, which I used to go and see live sometimes. Having seen his recent work, I'm really high on him - as NJT says, he's always great on Takeovers, the small joint manipulation stuff looks legitimately nasty, and I love his sneering facials. Definitely someone who'll be on my list, and I think a solid run over the next 5 years could take him pretty high.

    WALTER

I really need to check out some of his early stuff, because just from the little I've seen of him, I feel he could end up incredibly high for me (depending on how the next five years go.) Reel sums it up - he's someone who puts on brutal spectacles of matches and has me glued to the screen.

    AEW Dark Megathread

Yeah - I really liked the Lee Johnson segment; would love to see a show which was half stuff like that and half matches. Having said that, really DISLIKED the Sydal/Omega stuff.
  9. Totally agree with this. I really like Moxley, PAC and Miro but other than that the people I'm enjoying the most are guys/girls like Silver, Britt/Rebel, Sammy, MJF, Orange Cassidy, Rosa, Darby, Adam Page, Itoh, Lucha Bros. I was surprised how good the cinematic match was but Sting is generally doing nothing for me, Cody is awful (I mean, I know as an EVP he's going to be featured a lot, but still...) There's obviously room for some ex-WWE guys - in addition to the three I mentioned above, the Inner Circle storyline has me interested in Jericho, I like Matt Hardy's sleazy money-grabbing character (although I'd rather see him as a manager than a wrestler) and The Good Brothers/Callis are obviously the only people who could do the Omega angle. But yeah, really hope they don't end up bringing many more 'big names' in when there are so many awesome people I really want to see more of.
  10. Fourth post down on this link looks like it might quote some of it - any use? http://wrestlingclassics.com/cgi-bin/.ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=18;t=001478;p=0
  11. Possibly because I was really tired when I watched it this morning, I wasn’t that keen on it originally - and can’t quite work out why. I just rewatched, and liked it a lot more second time around. Shayna is an awesome heel, Kairi’s a great sympathetic babyface, and I loved the surprising way it finished.
  12. I got STARDOM World and I've been checking out some matches - the first few I watched weren't really capturing my attention much, but I loved this one. I think Baszler's heel work is awesome and loved the arm work and Io's selling of it. Having said that, the weird thing with the referee telling Shayna to break the hold stopped it from being an absolute favourite of mine because it didn't seem to make sense. Overall, though, a great watch.
