Been looking for a good list for Tully - thanks KB8, that's an awesome selection!

Just watched this, and knowing the closing angle in advance, that foreshadowing really stood out as fantastic, yeah.

Yeah, love this point. A lot of the modern 4/5 star matches leave me cold because they seem samey, but whenever Sasha's in there there's ALWAYS the potential for something incredible.

[2001-08-19-WWF-Summerslam] Steve Austin vs Kurt Angle
Marksman replied to mprice's topic in August 2001
Great match - I wasn't that keen on the start, but it picks up pretty quickly, and as Sleaze says in his post, after the second Stunner it's incredible. I thought the finish was fine - agree with cactus that it's the good kind of overbooking, making Angle, who I've never been a particular fan of, look like a red hot face and Austin like a man who's completely lost control. -
First time in years I've watched that segment, and wow, getting goosebumps. As Phil says, a real sense of unease which makes it a home run.

Same - I think he does a really good job of bumping as a monster heel.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad

Agree with PWO being a breath of fresh air compared to most message boards - I don't know what it is (pandemic, maybe?) but so many boards I post on seem to have gotten much nastier, tone-wise, over the last year or two. Having somewhere like this where discussions are pleasant and interesting is really cool. -
[2021-01-13-AEW-Dynamite] Darby Allin vs Brian Cage
Marksman replied to Edwin's topic in January 2021
This was the first Darby Allin match I saw, back before I got hooked on AEW, and it's one of the matches that DID get me hooked. Incredible babyface performance from Darby, whose bumping is just sensational, as always.- 3 replies

As with Bull, I'm fairly new to Aja, but she's freaking incredible so while she may go down once I check out more people, she's currently my working number 2. The 3/27/94 tag with Bull against Akira Hokuto and Shinobu Kandori blew my mind, as did the 10/89 tag vs Marine Wolves. 4/25/92 vs Bull is insanely great, and there are a bunch of other singles and tag matches which have been amongst the very best of the limited amount of joshi I've seen since I started watching recently.
-
Fairly new to Bull, but she's my working number 1 because each and every match I've seen of hers has completely blown me away. Elliott says it all better than I can, but she plays her character superbly, she's incredible against every wrestler I've seen her against - from lesser workers to other top stars - and her offense is brutal. Outstanding.
-
I've only seen a couple of Volk Han matches but they were both absolutely sensational (and they weren't 2 of the ones I've seen hyped as his best, or anything.) Just a staggering talent. Will likely be incredibly high for me once I've seen more of his matches, despite his relatively low number of matches in his career.
-
I've been a massive fan of Robbie Brookside's since I used to get to see him live occasionally at UK wrestling shows as a kid and was really excited when Xia got herself picked up by WWE; it's sad that she's yet another of these conspiracy loons.
-
Yeah, Arn is someone who I know I'll have fun whenever I watch a match of his, regardless of who it's against. One of the wrestlers I first loved when I was first hooked on WCW in the early to mid 90s.
-
Really enjoyed that - I don't think Hangman was really hurt by the loss, given he was jumped pre-match, and hopefully that means they're holding off him vs Omega for a little longer. Miro looked awesome destroying Kip, main event was great, Orange/Penta ruled, and that Pinnacle/Inner Circle parley was fantastic. (Well, except for Shawn Spears, but you can't have EVERYTHING, I guess.) And Mox/Kingston threatening to destroy Kenny's ankle was superb, even if it does lead to a match involving Nakazawa.
-
Yeah, I've been assuming the build is Archer and Sting teaming up. Agree with the other comment, as well - I'm a huge fan of Britt's, but I'd be happy to see Shida carry on as champion, she's doing an awesome job.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Marksman replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
Yeah, I think Chelsea should have credited in the first place, but the pile-on was vile and the hypocrisy from the guy who didn't credit the photographer(s) is REALLY strong. -
Wuertz seems staggeringly strange, even by WWE standards.

Last night's Elevation was really to my tastes - great profile on Leyla, tag match for her and Ryo, matches for 3/4 of Best Friends, and a fun backstage segment for JD Drake and the rest of his crew. Definitely feels like they're moving away from being quite so heavily-focused and letting people show their character outside of the ring more (there were also Reynolds/Five and Scorpio/Ethan Page promos as well.)
-
Really enjoyed that show, but I agree that Jericho's promos are dire. On the plus side, Ogogo seems to be getting a decent push (the Factory feud is kinda bizarre, I actualy think the booking is very good, the only issue is I barely care about anyone in it), Darby and JB pulled off another great main, Mox and Eddie were awesome as always, and absolutely loved the women's title match and the Pinnacle promo.

Have they said how long Silver will be out for? He's definitely the star attraction of the Dark Order, agree that the rest have been pushed back.

[2018-06-23-EVOLVE 106] Darby Allin vs WALTER
Marksman replied to ShittyLittleBoots's topic in June 2018
Just watched for the first time, and also blown away. The best current monster and the best current insane risk-taker - both of them play their parts absolutely perfectly here. Phenomenal. -
That was a great watch party - I had to miss the last match, but the others were all really fun. The Kylie Rae one blew me away and, as MichaelZ said, the Bayley one definitely strengthened her case for me with how well they did in a short match.

GWE Video: Where can I find footage? (OP UPDATED: 5/4)

Thanks, TMIB! This has details of where to watch various joshi, including Ice Ribbon. https://joshicity.com/where-to-watch-joshi-wrestling-online/ -
I need to check out his Lucha Underground stuff, but assuming it's as good as most people seem to say, he'll be in my top 10, probably top 5. Just spectacularly consistent over a long period of time with a wide range of opponents.
-
Will be super-high for me, and wouldn't be massively surprised if he ended up being my highest male wrestler of the last 10-15 years (depending how the next 5 years go, obviously) with WALTER probably being the other likely candidate there, and perhaps Moxley. As NotJayTabb says, search for him on IWTV and you seem pretty much guaranteed to get something interesting. Just watched his sprint with John Silver from 2019, which I would have loved to have gone longer but packs a lot of action into 7 and a half minutes, and his war with Timothy Thatcher from around the same time. I just can't imagine seeing a match of his and being disappointed by it.
