Parsons vs Bart in a Bunkhouse match sounds like a fun midcard brawl. Blackwell, Orndorff and the Saints all look good heading into the big show. The Dream Machine is stepping back into the ring babay! The Gunslingers prove their title win was no fluke. Love the image of Jumbo smashing the table at the press conference.

When ECW folded in April 2001 it left video distribution company RF Video in a tough spot. ECW was their best seller and its absence threatened to seriously decrease their income. They initially tried to strike a deal with Combat Zone Wrestling but the negotiations dragged for months without a deal. During that time, company owner Rob Feinstein saw an event called "King of Indies" put on by All Pro Wrestling which inspired him to start a similar promotion which would eventually become Ring of Honor. A scenario I've been thinking about is one where RF Video and CZW are able to come to an agreement (from what I can tell this would include Feinstein joining CZW leadership) meaning ROH is never founded. How does this affect the wrestling scene in the following two decades?

With a TV deal penned and a influx of new talent, things are looking bright for the UWF.

Ware and the Z-Man could make an option exciting tag team. I sense a hair vs hair match in the making between Brutus and Taylor. Demolition actually seemed a bit...shaken at the thought of facing the Rockers. Heenan has another big signing for the Family and decides to make room by letting Studd go. The big man doesn't take it well and joins up with fellow disgruntled former employee Hercules.

Okay so I've been researching the build to the show and I had to rework the build more than I expected. Here's what I got so far. Ric Flair: America's champion. In addition to changing Flair's opponent to Muta, I also changed the promotion of the event in Japan. Irl the match's finish was presented differently in Japan and America. In Japan, Fujinami won the NWA World title by pinfall while WCW claimed Fujinami had been disqualified for throwing Flair over the top rope and ignored the NWA belt changing hands. Likewise the match at SuperBrawl was promoted differently in each country. In Japan it was a title vs title match with Fujinami's NWA title vs Flair's WCW title. In the states however the story was Flair seeking revenge and "defending WCW and America." To simplify things, in our scenario WCW will join New Japan in recognizing the title change and promoting the rematch as title vs title. The United States title picture. IRL the US title wasn't defended at the inaugural SuperBrawl as then champion Lex Luger instead teamed with Sting to challenge The Steiner Brothers for the WCW Tag Team Titles. This in spite of the fact that Luger was in a active feud with Nikita Koloff. So the simple change I'm making is that Nikita gets his shot at SuperBrawl. The World Tag Title match. First a history lesson. Doom (Butch Reed & Ron Simmons) beat the Steiners for the belts at Capital Combat in May 1990 holding them until 1991 WrestleWar where (after turning face in late 90) they dropped them to The Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin). Due to WCW's insane taping schedule however, Hayes and Garvin had already dropped the belts to the Steiners six days prior. Doom would then split up with Reed reverting to a heel and they would face off in a "Thunder-Doom" match which Simmons won. I would keep Doom heel until WrestleWar where they would drop the titles back to the Steiners in a double dog collar match. At SuperBrawl they meet in a "final encounter" steel cage match. Brian Pillman's hunt for revenge. At WrestleWar, Sid Vicious famously powerbombed Pillman repeatedly during the Wargames match with Pillman's head at one point bouncing off the roof of the cage causing Pillman's friend. El Gigante to stop the match on his behalf. Fast-forward to SuperBrawl and Pillman is feuding with Barry Windham with the two having a (honestly quite good) taped fist match which Windham won while Sid jobbed to Gigante in stretcher match that lasted less than 3 minutes and ended with Sid being pinned. In our story, Pillman sells a injury for a couple of weeks before coming back and starting a feud with Sid culminating in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Sting vs Windham With neither man having a match in the restructured card I figure the best thing to do here is put them with each other. Windham tried to help Sid steal NWA World Heavyweight Title at Halloween Havok 1990. Between that, Wargames and Sting's eternal feud with the Horsemen I feel this makes enough sense. Streamlining the undercard. There were 13 matches on the inaugural SuperBrawl and frankly a number of them didn't deserve it. Ricky Morton jobbed to Dan Spivey in just over 3 minutes. Nikita put away Tommy Rich in 4 1/2 minutes. Oz (Kevin Nash) beat some rando in 26 seconds and Big Josh (Matt Borne) vs Black Bart screams TV match. Bare in mind Morton and Rich were two thirds of the WCW Six Man Tag Team Champions with the Junkyard Dog. As such they will be defending those belts against Kevin Sullivan and his charges, Black Blood (Billy Jack Haynes) and the One Man Gang. The TV title match between Arn Anderson Bobby Eaton and the match between The Freebirds and the Young Pistols (Tracy Smothers & Steve Armstrong) can both go ahead like IRL. Dustin Rhodes vs Terrace Taylor w/Alexandra York can happen on a televised pre-show. So with all the changes made, the new card for SuperBrawl 1 looks like... Main Event. Title vs Title WCW World Heavyweight Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs NWA World Heavyweight Champion The Great Muta. "Final Encounter" Steel Cage WCW World Tag Team Title match. The Steiner Brothers (Rick & Scott)(c) vs Doom (Butch Reed & Ron Simmons) w/"The Godfather" Theodore Long NWA United States Title. "The Total Package" Lex Luger(c) vs "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff Sting vs Barry Windham Falls Count Anywhere. "Flyin" Brian Pillman vs Sid Vicious WCW World Six Man Tag Team Titles Junkyard Dog, Ricky Morton & "Wildfire" Tommy Rich vs Kevin Sullivan, One Man Gang & Black Blood WCW Television Title "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson(c) vs "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton For the vacant WCW United States Title. I've loved writing Flair and Blanchard's on and off feud for the past year plus. I'm so happy you're continuing it. Season's Beatings and WrestleCade are both shaping up beautifully. Rhodes vs Funk in a Texas Bull Rope match is just perfect. Might want to send down a second ref when The Texas Outlaws take on the Samoan Swat Team. The Lightning Express has their eyes on the gold but they've also got the Dirty White Boys on their tail. BTW, there's something up with your text where a part of it extends so far I had to swipe sideways to read it.

The hell was Dusty thinking giving Don Callis the VP role? So Guido was in the ring when the lights went out but by the time they came back on Rougeau dragged him backstage? Still a strong debut for the Quebecer. 911 proving far more versatile than I ever saw in his ECW clips. Faarooq gives D-Lo a helping hand. A goof by Kama allows Mongo to bring home the win. The Barbarian scores perhaps the biggest win of his career... albiet with a little help from Pillman.

Michaels looks strong as Bert takes time to consider who's the most deserving challenger. The Nightmares are in Music City baby! Love that you're already teasing the match with the Renestos.

Reynolds gets a feel good win to start us off. We may all laugh at the Moonpup but that bone is no joke. Wildside are really taking off. I imagine Riggins has.... opinions about that. Bass' boot spells the end for Grundy. Assassin dips leaving Knighton high and dry. The masked man just wants his rematch.

The Fantastics, the Singhs and the Wild Ones each score a win over the their rivals to advance. Meanwhile the Bruisers and the Mean Machine get carried away and both get thrown out. The Fantastics have to get through two tough teams back to back to get their well deserved title shot.

Survivor Series is here! Let's get into it. Warrior looks strong in the opener and gets to share the spotlight with Andre.Good job protecting the Towers too. OMG can honestly say Duggan cheated while Bossman can say nobody technically beat him. Demolition & The Rockers prove that the cream does indeed always rise to the top. Do we have a title vs title match in our future? Muta goes on a tear and really carries his team to victory. Hogan must pose indeed! But seriously, the Hulkster is the sole survivor and looks primed and ready for his rematch with Savage.

Fujinami looks as good as ever but how will he perform come Vader time? Coast 2 Coast attempt at a rebound comes up short. Baby Doll wastes no time cashing in Badd Company's rematch. Keirn gets a nice showcase. Larry Z will needs all his wits to escape with the title when he faces Orndorff with no champions advantage. Slaughter gets a nice gift from Gerry by getting to pick his opponent. Sawyer calls out Colon one more time for a chain match. Canek is back so no money for Stomper (yet). Adias had better get focused on SuperClash because Peterson is coming for that title.

NWA sends Tully Blanchard to WCW in exchange for a loan. NWA adds Joe Lightfoot and Col. Debeers to the block.

From the historic Omni Coliseum in Beautiful Atlanta Georgia. The National Wrestling Alliance proudly presents the Thanksgiving Spectacular... (A sweeping shot of the sold out Omni Coliseum before Gordon Solie welcomes us to what he promises will be "the biggest event of the wrestling calendar". Every title will be on the line with a couple grudge matches as well. He hypes the main event before sending us to the ring for our first match) Match #1 Loser is forbidden from using the German suplex. "The Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez defeats Brett "Hack" Sawyer. Towards the end Sawyer tried to deliver a lowblow behind the refs back. Perez is unaffected while Sawyer clutches his arm in pain. This allows Perez to hit the German for the three. After his hand is raised, Perez reaches into his tights and pulls out a athletic cup which he drops on the prone Sawyer. Match #2 NWA United States Tag Team Titles. The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeat The Patriots (Firebreaker Chip & Todd Champion)(c) after Jones cracked Champion in the back with the flag. Seeing this, Miller took Williams in a headlock and rammed him into the big man's chest for the pin. TITLE CHANGE!!! Match #3 NWA World Six Man Tag Team Titles. The Stud Stable (Jimmy Golden, Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) w/"The Mastermind" Ron Fuller defeat The Lawmen (Billy Joe Travis, Doug Gilbert & Wendell Cooley)(c). Cooley seemed to have it won with a Running bulldog on Price but as he went for the pin the bell starting ringing before the ref even counted two. Cooley start celebrating but the ref interrupts. The camera turns to the timekeeper's desk where we see Ron Fuller threatening the official with the hammer. During the confusion Golden enters the ring and spikes Cooley with a Piledriver before putting Price on top. The ref turns around and makes the count. TITLE CHANGE!!! Match #4 NWA Heritage Title. The Super Destroyer w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats "Pitbull" Kerry Brown(c). Towards the end Jones gets on the apron but Brown immediately knocks him off. As he does so however, Super D loads a foreign object into his elbow pad. Brown gets Super D up for the Powerbomb only for the masked man to drive the loaded elbow down into his head. Brown collapses with Super D on top and the ref counts the three. TITLE CHANGE!!! Match #5 Indian Death Match. Loser must leave the NWA. "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel vs "Chief" Joe Lightfoot A 15 minute roaming brawl in which these two fight all over the Omni beat each other with anything and everything not nailed down. Both men are bleeding as Lightfoot sets up a Piledriver on the announcers desk. At the last second Wahoo counters with a backbody drop that sends Lightfoot crashing through the neighboring timekeeper's table! Wahoo pulls his foe from the wreckage and collapses on top for the 1..2..3. Beaten and bloody as he may be, Wahoo stands as the undisputed Chief of the NWA. Joe Lightfoot must leave the NWA. In the intermission following that craziness, Sean Moony holds his promised interview with the NWA's newest signee.... reveled to be a returning "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka! Snuka admits that he's closer to the end of his career in the beginning but says he came to the NWA that he's still got some fight in him. In 1989 he says, the "Superfly" will soar again! Match #6 NWA World Tag Team Titles. The Four Horsemen (Harley Race & Ole Anderson)(c) w/JJ Dillon vs The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) The Horsemen threw everything they had at their opponents. Race's technical mastery, Ole's relentless aggression, JJ's strategic advice, even Brad picked his shots when he could. But none of it deterred the Chicago natives who powered through every trick the Horsemen pulled out. Brad is obliterated by Animal with a Powerslam on the floor and JJ catches a big right hand from Hawk. Race and Anderson put up a fierce fight but Ole eventually succumbs to the "Doomsday Device". TITLE CHANGE!!! Match #7 NWA United States Dog Collar Match. Col Debeers(c) vs Junkyard Dog A brutal, bloody brawl in which the two bitter enemies whip and choke each other with the chain with reckless abandon. JYD hits a massive "Thump" to finally lift the US title. TITLE CHANGE!!! Main Event. Sean Moony: Ladies and Gentlemen...this is your Starrcade 88 main event of the evening....one fall with a 60 minute time limit for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship! Sanctioned by the Georgia State Athletic Commission, when the bell rings the man in charge will be NWA senior official Tommy Young... introducing first, in the corner to my left, the challenger...from Knoxville, Tennessee... weighing 242 lbs... the winner of the 1988 Starrcade Series..."Rugged" Ron Garvin! And his opponent... representing the Four Horsemen and accompanied by his manager, trainer and advisor James J. Dillon... from San Antonio, Texas weighing 225 lbs...since April 16th 1988 and for the 221 consecutive days since he has been YOUR reigning...defending... undisputed... National Wrestling Alliance Heavyweight Champion of the World... Tully Blanchard! For the next 30 minutes, these two give a classic Mid-Atlantic main event with equal displays of technical wrestling and brawling. Blanchard does everything he can to get heat ensuring the crowd cheers everything Garvin does. It crowd gets incensed when Blanchard hits his Slingshot suplex only to roar when Garvin kicked out! Garvin is screaming in Garvin's face when Ron gets a surge of energy and drops the champ with the "Hands of Stone" Punch! Garvin collapses into the cover and the ref counts 1...2...3! Ron Garvin is the NEW NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!

November 23 1996 Knox Central High School Gymnasium. Smoky Mountain Wrestling presents.... Killer Kyle w/Jim Cornette defeats American Kickboxer after Corny shoved AK off the top rope allowing Kyle to capitalize with the "Rub Out". Badd Company (Paul Diamond & Pat Tanaka) defeat The Arkansas Hit Squad (Mark Canterbury & Dennis Knight) with a sunsetflip/dropkick combo on Canterbury. Cash Flo handcuffed to the post. PG-13 (Wolfie D & JC Ice) defeat "Superstar Bill Dundee & Flash Flannigan when Flo removed the pad on one of the turnbuckle allowing Ice to drive his father back first into it followed by an inside cradle. Special Challenge match. "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater vs Jake "The Snake" Roberts ends in a double DQ when they take turns shoving the ref during a fistfight. Bones on a pole match. The Rock n Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) defeat The Moondogs (Rex & Spot) w/"Father" James Mitchell after Morton came off the top with a bone assisted clothesline on Spot. Smoky Mountain Tag Team Title Southern Street Fight. The Thugs (Tracy Smothers & Dirty White Boy)(c) vs The Heavenly Bodies (Tom Prichard Jimmy Del Rey) w/Jim Cornette The two teams give us 16 minutes of back and forth action brawling throughout the building with plenty of plunder used. Cornette proves the difference maker, driving DWB to his knees with a racket shot then holding a chair in front of his face which Prichard Superkicks for the win. TITLE CHANGE!!!! Smoky Mountain Turkey Trot. If Team Mantell wins Duggan can't challenge for the Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Title again. If Team Duggan wins he gets a title shot in any match of his choosing. Team Mantell (Dutch Mantell, Bull Pain, Chris Candido, The Punisher & Bruiser Bedlam) w/Jim Cornette, Tammy Fytch and "Father" James Mitchell vs Team Duggan Jim Duggan, Brian Lee, Brian Christopher, Brickhouse Brown & Koko Ware) With just under 25 minutes everyone gets a chance to shine. The various rivals have plenty of opportunity to square off (though Mantell does his damndest to avoid Duggan). At one point, Fytch tries to give her man a hand only for Debbie Comb to run down and pull her off the apron. This draws Candido and Lee over and the four fight their way to the back. During a pier-six brawl Duggan floors Bull Pain with the 3 point lariat for the win. It looks like Pain will refuse to put the suit on but Bert Prentice takes the house mic and says if BP doesn't fulfill the stipulation he will be fired there and then! BP puts the suit on and does his dance, looking thoroughly miserable the whole time, to send the crowd home happy.

It would actually be easy to pull off. Muta was at the event in Japan where Fujinami defeated Flair for the belt to begin with. He was even in the semi main (defeating Sting) so you'd just have to swap their spots on the card. Muta's previous run had him feuding with Sting, Lex Luger and Flair himself as part of Gary Hart International so the WCW audience should have had no problem accepting him in this role. And as for rebooking the card... yeah I'll get back to that because it could use some work.

I love the gifs you put in, they always look sick. At this point Han is my favorite to win the whole thing. Maeda keeping himself busy.

Spike had better live up to his "giant killer" moniker when he meets 911.
