  1. Severns tames Rose's wildman. Dingo & Hayes are too tough a combo for RPG's crew. Maeda taps out a game Double J. The General's tactics trump the Assassin. The Diamond Exchange halts the British Invasion. Pillman vs Eddie is a dream main event.
  2. AoD hands his leader the win. Lucky for Finlay, his friends were there to keep things from getting worse. Speaking of whom, PCO wins a skobberknocker with Hito. Barr gets a big singles win over Hector. Payne prioritizes hurting St Clair over winning the match. Great chaotic scene with Red, Sid & OMG all storm the scene during the six man tag. Red nearly snaps but the Brigade intervenes. Poor Dutch is at his wits end. Bret takes Bock to the limit but the champ slips by with his title intact.
  3. Jackson with a fun little opening win. Hart uses less than gentlemenly methods for beat Olympia. Curious ending to the Steamboat/Madril match. What a ride for Dennis Brown, from Downtown to Uptown to Outta town. Some quick thinking by Whatley nets The Movement a title shot. The Lone Desperados/Thunderfoots feud continues to heat up. Johnny & Davey keep their name & get their belts back. Chairshots, ax handles, fireballs! The Stuff Stable pulls out all the stops to win in the main event.
  4. Finally! Someone willing to stand up to Vicious. Owen wins the air war against Sabu & may soon find himself standing across from his friend Pillman. Mr Backlund has had enough & books a loser leaves town match between Young Neidhart at San Diego Battleground. Big win for the Sawyer brothers. Furnas shows his former teammates why it would be wise to leave him alone. Great job highlighting all the various rivalries in your battle royal. Interesting tease between Windham & Hennig after the accidental elimination.
  5. Alberto may have made one enemy too many. Him getting tricked into putting his hair on the line was classic though. Tommy is tired of his "cousins" embarrassing the Rich name & is ready to take it from them. Lots of bad blood in this Monday's show. I think with all their opponents trying to get at each other, the Lightning Express have a real chance to sneak in a win.
  6. Dynamite gets the crowd going. Frenchy coming in clutch for his team. Z-Man was definitely the most popular man in Indianapolis for shutting Vin Man up. Glamour Boys get one up on the OG Midnights but I get the feeling that this isn't over. Blackwell gets the win but Atlas made him pay for it. Gagne's crew may have made too many enemies to handle. Atlas couldn't win his match but he made sure his friends retained their titles. Round 1 of Bad News & the King goes to a draw. I think we all know the rematch is coming.
  7. WOW! What a stacked battle royal. Windham is definitely a favorite but guys like Maeda & Sid are on such tears you can't count them out.
  8. Keirn isn't sweating Idol's declaration of vengeance. Billy Jack is not giving up on the TV title. Polynesian Power get some payback on Venomous. Looking forward to seeing Adams in the AWA. Teamsters get a showcase. Thanks to Bruce, Ferris gets a title shot next week. The Iaukea men are certainly making a impression. The Glamour Boys are ready to settle their debt with the Original Midnights. SuperClash 2 will make a great way to ring in the new year. Give Ash credit, he's willing to put his money where his mouth is. Blackwell makes great backup for Oliver & Borne as they take on the Bruise Brothers. Great ending to the show with Lawler & Bad News trading blows. Their match is gonna be intense.
  9. The Downtown Connection with a dirty win in the opener. Ross beating the Russian definitely brought the crowd back. The Movement decide they don't need an Intern after all. Olympia gets the win but I'm sure Madril & Ramirez aren't done with him yet. Los Mega Starrs make Horner fell the Crunch. Fuller makes damn sure the Armstrong's don't add anymore gold to their collection.
  10. Ware with another solid win in the opener. The Nasties put a halt to Bad Company's momentum. Chaotic ending to the six man tag. Love to see it. Casey with his first successful defense. Rock n Roll vs Rockers ends in a double pin! How more even can you get? Precious' purse proves to much for Steamboat. But the real story is Lanny turning on his own brother. The 10 Man Massacre was amazing! Great use of the random draw gimmick to give each team the advantage. Bam Bam pinning Race was the cherry on top.
  11. Taped at the Grady Cole Center before WCW. Originally airing on 9/25/87 on the USA Network. With your host "The Dean of professional wrestling" Gordon Solie! Big Daddy Cyrus defeats Joshua Fagen with a spinning side slam. Good & Plenty (Ray Candy & Sweet Brown Sugar) defeat Executioner & Scorpion with the "Tootsie Roll" on Executioner. "Adorable" Adrain Adonis w/"Sensational" Sherri Martel defeats Rocky King with "Goodnight Irene" Main event. Winner challenges for the NWA World Television Title on next week's WCW. "Lone Star" Brian Adidas defeats Ricky Santana w/Slick with the "Oriental Spike" In other news..... Solie recaps the current standings in Block B with Buddy Landel at 1-0, Abdullah the Butcher at 1-0, Adrian Street at 0-1 & Bruiser Brody at 0-1. He then announces that Block B will continue next week with Buddy Landel vs Abdullah the Butcher & Adrian Street vs Bruiser Brody.
  12. From the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte NC. Previously recorded & airing on 9/24/87 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Bob Caudle & Tony Schiavone. Ring Announcer: David Crockett. Jerry Bryant vs Sean Royal The feud between Spartanburg Vice & The New Breed has been raging for some time with no end in sight. Tonight the two sides meet again but this time their partners have been barred from ringside due to previous shenanigans. We get an energetic opener with the two rivals holding nothing back. The tide turns several times and both men get several near falls. The bout is so evenly matched that the two eat up the entirety of the 15 minute time limit. Security has to keep the two apart as the resulting draw is announced to the disappointment of the crowd. These two teams are headed to a explosive conclusion. The Grappler 2 vs Iceman Parsons w/ Slick Rumor has it that Parsons just barely missed out on being in the Starrcade Cup. Watching his behavior tonight, you get the sense that he is aware of it & is less than pleased at missing out. The Iceman was clearly looking to vent some frustration on the masked man rocking him with some stiff strikes. The Six Man champion isn't one to be pushed around however & makes sure to give as good as he gets. The result is a good old fashioned Texas brawl which the North Carolina crowd welcomes with open arms. Grappler 2 looks to end things with a Lariat but Slick grabs his leg coming off the ropes causing the masked man to trip. Parsons wastes no time pulling his adversary into a Piledriver for the tainted victory. If Parsons was looking for attention, he certainly has it now. "Shooting Star" Keiichi Yamada & "Super Rookie" Hiroshi Hase vs The Stud Stable (Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden) Yamada & Hase have clearly been working on their teamwork and Fuller & Golden are clearly taken off-guard by the teamwork the Japanese duo display. Between Yamada's fast paced offense & Hase's technical ability, the Tennessee cousins have to delve deep into their bag of tricks to avoid defeat. This is shown when the Stud's trigger a brawl with all four men in the ring during which Golden grabs his cousin's towel & nailing Hase in the head with it. Fuller makes the cover & the Stud's manage to eek out a win. Though they lost, it's clear that the crowd has quickly grown attached to the Japanese pairing. NWA World Television Title "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi vs "Black Magic" Norman Smiley (c) w/Ms Linda Cocoa Samoa is out cheering his partner on as Afi looks to capture his first title in the National Wrestling Alliance. The challenger is clearly hungry for this success as he blisters the champion's chest with chops & floors him with headbutts. Eventually Linda has to reach in & pull her client out to the floor for a regroup session. Upon re-entering the ring, the champion sets about changing the pace of the bout to one more to his liking, wearing his opponent down with classic British wrestling. While Afi struggles to match Smiley in this are, with the fans & his partner's support he's able to create openings leading to the tail end of the match being a back-and-forth affair. The turning point shockingly comes in the form of Jimmy Del Ray & Chic Donavon emerging from the crowd & driving Cocoa into ringpost. This captures Afi's attention at the worst possible moment allowing Smiley to lock in the "Norman Conquest" with Afi tapping out possibly as a way to check on his friend which he does as soon as he's released. Smiley may have retained his title but everyone's focus is on Cocoa & how the South Pacific Connection will respond to this attack by Radiance. Starrcade Cup Block A match. Arn Anderson w/JJ Dillon vs Giant Haystacks w/Ms Linda Though neither man is exactly beloved by the crowd, there seems to be a contingent that is enamored enough with the thought of Anderson being torn apart by a 7 feet tall, 600 pound monster they can't help but cheer Haystacks. The story of the bout is one of Double A trying with increasing desperation to find anything that's actually effective against his gargantuan foe. Notably the same blonde man from last week is seen again in the aisle way & he seems at least somewhat pleased by Haystacks' performance. Eventually Dillon gets so frustrated he goes over & starts an argument with Linda in a scene reminiscent of last week. Just like last week, Linda's client takes offense to Dillon's behavior with Haystacks grabbing him by the throat and pulling him up on the apron. Arn tries to take advantage of this but Haystacks catches him by the throat as well before banging the two men's heads together before scooping Anderson up into the world's largest powerslam for the win. Starrcade Cup Block A match. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs "Soul Man" Rocky Johnson Whereas in the previous match most of the crowd had no one to cheer for, here they are able to take in the sight of two of their favorites battling it out. As expected between these two, they have a competitive but respectful encounter with both men getting a chance to show what they can do. The end comes with Johnson setting up for the "Soul Man Shuffle" but just as he goes to throw the knockout punch, Rhodes springs to life to hit the "Bionic Elbow" to go 2-0 in block A.
  13. Little Heart is halfway to a US title shot. Not even the combined efforts of the Glamour Girls can stop Richter. Brown & Kennedy's partnership may have just hit a roadblock. Peterson gets past Nellie in a solid season match. Velvet decides to go for the gold.... but can she actually bring herself to fight the champ?
  14. Steamboat is 15 grand richer. Brown costs his former cohorts the Alabama Jr Heavyweight Title. The Nightmares/Los Mega Stars end without any vengeance being had. Between the moment of silence & the dirty tricks to win, Madril & Tugboat definitely turned the heat up. As if Tommy & Travis weren't bad enough, it looks like they're the newest members of the Downtown Connection. On the subject of factions, could we be seeing the latest version of the Stud Stable?
  15. First stop LA. Hughes impresses with an emphatic victory over Hector. The Brigade overcome Rose's heavy's. The Midnights famous teamwork pays off. Cactus decks the ref out of frustration with Hayes beating him. SSM vs Mr Backlund? Bring it on! Owen comes within a hair of capturing the Pacific Heavyweight Championship. Onwards to Santa Barbara. Finlay spikes Hito in a hard-hitting opener. Anvil rocks Hollywood. The British Invasion defeat the Wild Things in a frenzied match. Douglas taps to the Payne Killer. Furnas grabs the bull by the horns. Victory takes Ed to the limit.... and perhaps a bit beyond.
  16. Vicious is truly terrorizing the PCW locker room. Severn & Snow get a chance to show off what they can do. The Diamond Exchange may have just achieved their goal of taking Todd Morton out of PCW. Sweet Stan has a sour taste in his mouth courtesy of Tracy Smothers. OMG gives Chavo a Classic ass-whooping. The tension between Young & Neidhart finally boils over costing the Knights Templar in the main event. Mr Backlund scruffing the two of them was hilarious though.
  17. So the Outlaws jumped Cooley..... but didn't injure him enough to explain his absence? Thatcher decides he doesn't care if they did it or not & says they can't come back to work until they find him. This should be fun. What a fine debut for the Lone Desperados who we've definitely never met before. The tensions in the Downtown Connection have finally reached a breaking point. What a touching send-off for Plowboy Reyes....I mean Guer....I mean Sanch....I mean....ah to hell with it, y'all know who I mean! But at least Alberto found a replacement bodyguard, best of luck Tugboat Ramirez. Great segment with the Rich "Family" squabble. Great card for tomorrow night. I like the idea of a "pay to play" battle royal. Los Mega Stars are fired up for the Revenge match. Well Valiant sure dropped "Uptown"Dennis Brown right & quick. Embry vs Armstrong should be a barnburner.
  18. Venomous provide a exciting opener. Mando takes the Calgary Flame to a draw. Billy Jack sends a Strong message. The Bombers blow up on the Teamsters. Abbuda makes with a dominating debut victory. Putski impresses against Hickerson & I'm sure the fans loved the slam on Norvell. Blackwell gets robbed! Jerry Jerrett has got to be thinking on how to deal with Gagne & co. Perez sends the crowd home happy with a win over Larry Z.
  19. The Mid-South show sees Blackjack get his first bit of payback on the Cartel with a win over Konnan. Robley's army continue to send opponents to the med-bey. Looks like we're getting a Russian chain match at Halloween Havoc. Hot Stuff Inc takes advantage of the chaos to score another win on the Freebirds. Dark Journey helps her man retain the Louisiana title. Nikita & JYD give Baton Rouge a classic brawl. Dr Death beats Wright's man & breaks his favorite toy all at once! I'd say that the UWF show definitely had the better opener with Muta standing tall. Scott & Hercules make an imposing team as Rex & Brooks find out. Benoit gets the w but Rogers certainly made a impression with that post match promo. Looks like Ted & the Sheik found a pair of Natural Disasters! Money Inc's new monsters try to take out the snake but Steiner & Hernandez are there to make the save. Dibiase takes the cowards way out after the draw with Murdoch. Vader was too big for the rack but Luger chops him down to retain the title. What a war it was!
  20. Peterson kicks us off with a win. Norvell is fully confident in his men & I don't blame him. Idol kills the piece that Kiern wanted. Ash definitely has a few kinks to work out but there's potential for his Honor Roll. Meanwhile, the Uncommon Alliance continues to prove beneficial to both men. Ferris is looking good but I'm not sure it's a good idea to go calling out D.J. The AWA enters the pay-per-view era with Super Clash 2! Colon's path to redemption begins with Iaukea's son Abbuda. Fujinami helps get the fans back into the show. Aww, look at Brenda standing up for her buddy. Le Coalition with a solid win. The Bombers give Busick a helping hand in retaining his title. The King vows to win the world title as we head off the air.
  21. So happy to see Twin States on the road again. Horrible loop for "Uptown" Brown. He's got to be fed up with Bruno by now. Los Mega Stars making a solid case for a rematch while The Movement continues to try -and fail- to recruit Brickhouse. I see Embry is still a crybaby. On the bright side I'm sure the crowd loved seeing Bob with his sons again.
  22. I love it when a wrestling show opens with a wild brawl. Kai's dirty tricks backfire as Little Heart wins the TV title. Pardue with a solid season match win. Another melee this one featuring the Glamour Girls & The Monsters. Moment of truth time for McIntyre, she's qualified for the World Title shot but will she take it?
  23. Ladd continues his even-handed nature before unveiling some huge matches for Halloween Havoc. Hot Stuff Inc gets a title match with the setting to choose which two to send in, Tully defends against JYD with no champions advantage, Wahoo & Ivan continue their war while Nikita gets one last shot at Dr Death. Hot Stuff tries to pull a fake out but it doesn't work out for them. A dirty Hayes win leads to a pier-six brawl. So as soon as the Dog gets a title shot against Tully, El Gringo Grande puts a hit on him. How "convenient". Robley's beasts live up to his promise to start hurting people until they get their shot at the tag titles. Mulligan finally gets some backup & what backup it is in Ron Garvin & Terry Taylor. I predict some stiff multi-man matches ahead.
  24. Vic & the Gentleman go to a draw. Embry gets sneaky to beat Horner. Wayne shows up for his friend & costs Los Mega Stars the match. Bruno costs Brown his title then throws a bitch-fit blaming him for it. Ross & Brickhouse don't seem to thrilled to join The Movement but are still willing to take it to the Russians. Leduc defects to Fuller & together they leave the now former General laying. Wildfire gets some laughs with his shirt & some gold with his partner. A beatdown on Brad cements Fuller's return to the dark side while coming to his son's rescue puts Bullet back in the fans graces. All is as it should be in Alabama.
  25. Neidhart with a hometown win. The Lethal Weapon K.O's Latino Heat. Hennig defies Death! Maeda with a dominating victory. Burke & the Brits crash the Diamond Exchange. Furnas comes close but Mr Backlund remains PCW's resident champ-champ.
