He could debut at Revolution as a surprise participant in the ladder match. He has no non-compete clause.
-
Maybe this is like a Messi - Barça situation? Everything was going well and it seemed that he was going to renew his contract, but at the last minute the negotiations broke down for some unknown reason.
-
They should sign Paul London and form "The Dragon Foundation". Add Moriarty and Garcia there and you have a nice group.
-
What kind of contract is the "rolling 90-day"? I don't know how it works in the US, are these type of contract usual? It means you are always working without a fixed term contract? Then, if the contract expires or you get fired you don't have to right to get the severance pay? I don't care that much for Steen, but I wanted to see Zayn outside WWE, at one point in 2014 or 2015 he looked like he could have been "the next Daniel Bryan".

Gargano is one year older thant Wardlow, he still has 5 - 10 years of worthy in-ring career. I'm not too interested in seeing him on AEW, but if they can get Ciampa it would open up an interesting scenario with the potential matches that DIY could offer against the Bucks and FTR.

One of the best Dynamites they've ever done, nothing has felt rushed like most of the times, where they have to cut every segment/match quickly to get to the other. I hope Bryan hasn't turn heel and just stays tweener, being a default heel against faces and a babyface against heels.

I agree that Danielson/Omega doesn't need the title, but I think they need the PPV to structure their next match the way the want without restrictions, and Revolution is too far away. Also the idea of Page winning the gold on TV is not bad either.
-
Watching Danielson's promo in Elevation it's clear that they're gonna do Kenny/Bryan in Full Gear for the title. I think the right way to go is giving a midcarder the win in the casino ladder match in order to book a tv defense three or four weeks before the PPV, and then, after the PPV, Page can show up in his hometown and climb his way to the championship again to challenge Kenny at Revolution.

I agree that there's a normative discourse in wrestling about what is right and what's not. It's like a process that most people have, including myself, when they are starting to post on forums. You start by absorving various ideas like "X wrestler needs to work that leg before going for the submision finisher" that, if you think about it, doesn't make any sense in a real life or a fighting sport. What I don't understand is why the stuff Omega does looks fake and incoherent but Lawler and Funk or Satánico and Chicana throwing punches in the air without protecting their face and selling in a pro wrestling weird way it's ok? Sabin and Shelley doing cooperative matwork sucks (which I agree) but Satánico and Gran Cochisse doing a similar awful matwork is "the best ever"? Maybe I'm being a little exaggerated, but my point is that all of the things that are being discussed can work both ways.

I also think the Danielson/Omega is better than any Bryan's match in WWE (maybe the Brock match is up there), I rewatched it last night and I noticed some details that I didn't see the first time. Also, I can't think of many matches from his career that are better than this one, maybe the match against Morishima in NY or the two famous Low Ki matches from 2002, and I'm not even sure about that. I'm trying to put together a Top 100 for the GME project and right now I wouldn't call many matches under US soil better than this Omega/Bryan (Eddy/Rey, Lawler/Funk/Dundee/Idol, Austin/Hart????), and it's only the first taste of a long story. I liked it that much. But anyway, it's just my opinion, at the end of the day we create consensus around certain matches being the "best ever" for the GME project or other similar ones that if you show someone outside our bubble or from another forum, they might consider those as normal matches. I'm pretty sure somewhere someone has watched the Casas/Santo match or the Tamura/Yamamoto (to name my #1 and #2 spot) and thought that they were average matches.

Yes, I agree. But I think he's referring to the approach that he's taking by stepping into the ring, being this old veteran who doesn't need to do a lot of athletic stuff, but just tell a good story. And also those tights...

After a rewatch I think Darby vs Punk was the match of the night (Eddie/Miro was great too). Punk was smart working on Allin's back and ribs after the sick bump on the post. Darby was flying and bumping all around to make sure Punk looked good, and actually, the 2 GTS looked awesome. I'm all in for this Funk's versión of CM Punk.

I don't know who will be the first "Jeff Jarret" but I have the feeling that MJF is gonna be the first big name that's gonna jump to WWE.

Yes, I tought the same. Specially when they are constantly presenting Stephanie as the creator of a revolution for women in the world of wrestling. This quote from HHH is like saying "neither machismo or feminism, equality", which is the most machism, sexist, chauvinist thing a men could say.

WWE TV 05/03 - 05/09 Big Roman made little Bryan humble.
Gramsci replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I'm not saying that fans will get mad about him for re-signing with WWE, it's just wrestling, I hope everyone eats his dinner before going to bed, even if his soccer team loses the finals of the Champions League. What I'm saying is that now he has the chance to do what he says he wants to, and has the freedom to choose (without the obligation of being grateful to them for clearing him). He and his wife are rich, and they will be making a lot of money even without WWE, so I don't think this is one of the main reasons he will consider when making his decision. After all the interviews and rumors, we will se if he really wants to do what he says he wants to do because he's in that position right now (being able to wrestle everywhere, approach wrestling as an art and not a parody, control his own schedule, etc). I don't whant to say "hypocrite", but it comes a little hypocrite when you can choose and you end up choosing a company that is everything (almost) you stand against, from a wrestling and social standpoint. -

I'm pretty sure they have enough money for 10 generations. And yeah, It would be dissapointing if he re-signs with WWE after all his talking during the past few weeks about him wanting to wrestle somewhere else, his approach to wrestling as an art (especially when he tinks that WWE is a parody of wrestling), wanting to have "the perfect match" and all of that. His words will not sound credible anymore. -
[2018-06-23-EVOLVE 106] Darby Allin vs WALTER
Gramsci replied to ShittyLittleBoots's topic in June 2018
I think people should be talking more about this match. I remember watching it in 2018 and liking it (which by the way it's one of the best in-ring years I recall), but on a rewatch I'm blown away. Allin is carried like a potato sack by Walter and he's bumping like a maniac, seriously, It's one of the best bumping performances that I've ever seen, better than all those 80s "overbumping" guys that I like sometimes (and sometimes I hate). Love all the counters by Allin, his desesperation attacking Walter's hand and his subtle selling. Maybe it's, like we say in political science, the honey moon effect, but WALTER vs Allin > Sting vs Vader. -
WWE TV 04/19 - 04/25 Florentino Perez I challenge you to a boxing match
Gramsci replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Maybe he goes to NXT and then leaves the company when the contract expires? I see Cesaro as a transitional challenge, I think the might wanna do Reigs v Big E for Summerslam and Reigns v Rock at Wrestlemania. The quesitons here is if Reings is gonna keep the title until next year or he's gonna lose it and take it back. -

Sorry, I didn't mean in this post. I was refering that lately I've reading a lot of people in forums an twitter talking like if Bryan is thinking about retiring when he's just talking about going part time. He just wants to wrestle between 30 - 50 matches a year instead of 200. The interview where he said that he wants to wrestle until he's 70 is from two or three months ago in a wrestling website from Catalonia (Spain). It's true that he has said that he felt "out" in the Mania match, but I just see that as a confirmation that he is seriously considiring to go wrestle outside WWE, where he'll be able to have his own schedule. -

I don't know where all the talk about him retiring came from. He said multiple times that he retired one time and doesn't want to do it again, he literally said that he wants to wrestle until he's 70, like Terry Funk. I have a feeling that he will leave WWE and will go to work in México, Japan, Barnett's company, etc. Maybe AEW is the best option for all of that. Actually, I think the Bucks said two years ago that Bryan had an agreement with NJPW before WWE cleared him, and he wanted to have a program against the Bullet Club. So, him being friends with the Bucks, Cody, Arn Anderson, Moxley and others make things more easy for him to go there and have all this freedom that he is asking for with a contract that allows him to wrestle everywhere else.
