Literally, every Jericho feud and angle has gone on way too long in AEW.

There aren't too many issues in the modern world that can't be traced back to British colonialism (and the rest of Europe, but especially British) and American hegemony in the vacuum after WW2.

The Saudi propaganda isn't really trying to whitewash its reputation to viewers or the West or anywhere else. It's all directed towards other sports, entertainment, and advertising for brands that might feel squeamish doing business with KSA. Americans are not going to take a vacation to Saudi Arabia, but KSA showing the money they'll throw to have gigantic stadium shows shows the NFL there is money to be made having a game or two every season.

The giant list of injures or suspended talent really is not mentioned enough when it comes to talking about AEW feeling cold or aimless. Damn near every program from top to bottom in the past year has been knocked off course by injuries and/or personal issues. A lot of stuff has clearly been rejiggered last second all year, most of it because one side of the storylines suddenly were out of action.

Tony getting fooled by a fake Sting, Double J shewtin' on the mizarks in 2022. What a time to be alive.
-
Tony has purchased IWA Mid South.

Not to speak for Embro, but I think he was referring to Jericho's negative influence in regards to terrible angles and matches.

Hey man, I'm not arguing that Jericho is better than Punk on screen, or really off. Jericho has consistently been the worst part of AEW since day one and I shit on him constantly. I would definitely prefer Punk over Jericho in pretty much all contexts. But there is a difference in Punk working with the young talent, and Punk giving unsolicited advice to the world champ who is a 14 year vet whom he was about to replace as top guy and champion. This is exactly the same situation Punk himself was in in 2011 with Kevin Nash and HHH, and 2013 with The Rock, and boy did he not like that. He can be both helpful and a "cancer" in the locker room if he's rubbing more people wrong than right and bringing a bad attitude and/or drama. Punk was pissed and threatening to leave months before All Out. A couple of months of pissy CM Punk could be a real dark cloud in the locker room. Still, Jericho sucks and I'd rather he be gone over Punk.

I hope Nak comes out to Subconscious -
I don't think the cancer comment was at all related to Punk's work or the storylines and angles he's been involved with.

At the same time, they're letting Nakamura work NOAH for a match against Muta in January.

Ol' Double Talking Jive David Meltzer said multiple people said that was completely fabricated, and not a single person had mentioned this on either side until yesterday. Those multiple people could be Kenny and the Bucks, of course. However, Punk's side did backtrack on "kicking the door in" and it is curious to have not mentioned this for a month and a half, at the same time as leaking his defense in the event legal actions stem from the incident.

I think part of it is that's just how everything is in the news cycle now, but also because outside of the one show where Steph announced Vince was retiring, he's not been mentioned again, the associated stories surrounding the situation dropped out of media coverage almost immediately as Vince was gone. He's not even in the opening anymore.
-
I feel like the Vince thing actually has not been a big story at all. Everyone moved on immediately and was happy.

I've been doing a rewatch of the Nitro era with some buds and Saturn being super, super underwhelming has really stood out to me as well. I remember him being pretty awesome, but at least in his first 3-4 months, he has not looked good at all against some great talent.
-
I don't really see it as a personal dislike of him, I think it is fair to point out he's always been this guy and always will be that guy. There are stories of him being a caustic asshole or guy thinking he's the locker room leader and people should listen to him from his earliest times in the business. Damn near every guy he's been associated with, he's had a bad falling out with or they actually were never friends to begin with. Punk is the absolute king of self-sabotage. The guy was out of the business for 7 1/2 years. The business didn't need him to come back. AEW didn't need him to come back. WWE didn't need him to come back. The business is not going to miss him leaving again. My argument is that I don't feel there is even a choice to be made over him or Kenny/Bucks. I don't remember shit what I did or didn't post on GAF or LS 7 years ago, I was wild drunk constantly during that time.

Punk has thought of himself as a locker room leader vet giving out unsolicited advice and annoying people since the IWA MS days.
-
The only good things to come from the entire trilogy are the soundtracks and John Carpenter getting the money actually owed to him, which he spends entirely on video games.

They should have to pay people for Halloween Ends. Absolute dogshit. Truly hard to believe that the team behind Eastbound, Vice Principals, Gemstones could make the 3 worst Halloween movies. In a row, too.

The WWF/AJPW deal is weirder to me than MPro or FMW. Attitude Era WWF and late stage King's Road styles, as well as Vince's and Baba's booking philosophies and presentations, could not have been farther apart. -
Jungle Boy definitely got absolutely fucked by Christian's injury. I don't think there is a good way to keep that going for something that's a 9-12 month injury for Christian. The Lucha turn, then maybe sorta turn back, then turn again all in like 3 weeks was probably not the best way to go.

What move scrambled him?

Thought the Hangman promo was great. Thought the main event was pretty good. I hope to never have to see another Jericho match that isn't from 1998 for the rest of my life. Everything with him is so self-indulgent and I really wish TK would use him more sparingly. He has these never ending feuds and goes on and on about how he made whoever it was against a star and all this shit, but the feuds are all boring and the other guy ends up doing nothing for 6 months after.

Heel tactics as a face seems to be a McMahon thing, as pretty much every IC and World level face going back to Bruno would do them, always to cheers from the crowd and face announcer.

LG shows personality all the time, but his personality fucking sucks as much as his ring work.
