  1. I didn't even know he had ever been in ROH. The state of that company in the past 8 or 9 years my goodness.
  2. Who on earth has any emotion in any direction towards QT Marshall? I don't want to be too mean about the guy, but it really seems like he was some random indie dude that Dustin met in one of his dark periods and helped him get sober and now he has a job for life.
  3. Brodie was a long established guy, especially to the particular AEW audience. However his whole run was just keeping Cody's vanity title warm while he went off too shoot something and then immediately drop it back when Cody returned. I'm not sure where the elevation was in that.
  4. I take umbrage that he's elevated people. Especially dudes like Brodie or Black who did not need elevation and were arguably immediately more popular stars from their debuts than Cody. I don't think he did much for Darby either, as Darby got over on his own just doing Darby things and Cody would pop in to be "taken to the limit" every 6 months and Darby would have to start over from the bottom again. I'd argue that the association with Moxley in the early AEW days did more for Darby than anything involving Cody. Darby just toiled around in the undercard for a whole year before he beat Cody and by that point he was already super over. After the MJF/Cody feud, MJF did damn near nothing for a whole year before getting paired up with Jericho. Nothing Cody does elevates anyone or anything because he is so completely disconnected from the rest of the show that he feels like he's in his own little pocket universe where nothing matters. Also lol Spears
  5. Sure but I wasn't comparing him to HHH at all. There are comparisons to be made, intentionally by Cody, but I was just talking about how that feels like such a Dusty bullshit thing to do to get some sympathy back from the crowds that have grown bored or tired of him.
  6. Cody running a retirement angle at 36 in his own promotion as the fans are getting sick of him so he can take time off to do TV shit no one is going to watch and can get a pop when he's "dragged out of retirement" in 9-12 months is such a Rhodes move. It will probably be for War Games and he'll find a way to redo the Dusty/Dustin seal it with a hug and a kith promo with some random Nightmare Factory dweeb.
  7. I don't think this has been a good show, and especially not with all the focus on all the old guys and ex-WWE guys coming off the attention that Punk/Bryan/the Gage stuff from last week might have brought in with new eyes. Why did they go back to Daily's Place 3 weeks after saying that was their last show at the venue for a long, long time?
  8. Bray Wyatt debuts and his promo is all Fozzy lyrics, but no one can tell the difference
  9. The Hart Breaker Michael Shawn imo
  10. Not sure about that but there's a lot of weird homophobic stuff in everything he does, including and especially on twitter where he's been playing up being some insane horny sex pest to various men on the roster, which is weird since I believe his tag partner actually is gay.
  11. Most of his raps have had some kind of rape joke directed at men
  12. They are supposed to get heat, but I don't at all think the gimmick is terrible raps you boo because they're bad. It's not Miz and Morrison.
  13. Disagree on the Cena raps, but it was a different era. They're utterly childish, homophobic, embarrassing trash, not unlike Caster's whole deal today.
  14. Raw is pure death, SD mostly sucks, too from what I've seen. NXT being better than those shows when the main narrative about NXT for almost it's entire existence is "it's better than the main roster shows" isn't particularly impressive these days. There's just no energy from the crowd or the talent even if there are still good matches. AEW even during the no fans period still had more energy and life most of the time, and now that they're back to full crowds it is a complete blow out. NXT has and has had for quite some time that same stale death and lack of enthusiasm feeling from the talent that Raw/SD has had for ages.
  15. The death of Dusty was definitely the start of a NXT losing its way. It was more than just booking. It was the promos and character work and Dusty's general presence had such a massive impact on the talent that has not been replicated by anyone they've brought in since. There was definitely a very clear change from mostly developing talent to bringing in and focusing on established outside talent that was starting to become a more regular thing in the 6 months or so before Dusty died, but accelerated almost immediately upon his passing. It's not just the loss of Dusty, but also becoming big enough that they couldn't just kind of be off in the corner doing their own stuff that people might or might not see. To me, NXT really starts to get cold around the 3rd Takeover in a row headlined by Ciampa vs Gargano, which was concurrently happening with the start of Shayna's death reign that just sucked the air out of every event when she'd cleanly choke out whoever was super popular and hot for the next year and a half. Then you get to the USA era, which has the double whammy of keeping people who should have moved on long ago on the show (Gargano, Ciampa, all of TUE guys) and also moving to two hours. THEN the pandemic on top of all of that. The aesthetic also fucking sucks. That shitty fight club bullshit mixed with terrible metal and HHH's love of skulls.
  16. HHH smart for a wrestler who politicked into the office. Not smart in a legitimate corporate environment with true corporate sharks.
  17. Tbh I could see Khan just straight up getting rid of HHH all together in the event Vince retires or sells and puts him in charge.
  18. Sounds like she's still booked as a mid card comedy character and having the title is part of the Charlotte/Rhea story, not hers
  19. The Nikki Cross thing just seems like a harmless mid card comedy character not unlike The Hurricane. From what I've seen, by far the most annoying part of it is the announcers insisting on saying "A.S.H" after her name every single time.
  20. Is Ole in any condition to be wheeled out somewhere for a full blown Four Horsemen reunion on Turner Networks. Last I heard, Flair and Arn aren't even on speaking terms and Ole hasn't been on speaking terms with any of them since the mid 90s. Don't know what Tully's dynamics are with Flair and/or Ole.
  21. He's certainly in a great spot because WWE will absolutely throw the bag at him to keep him from AEW and AEW will likely make a very sizable offer as well.
  22. They had one real good match at New Years Revolution 2006 and other than that I literally can't remember any singles matches between them over those 20 years.
  23. There's a track that's been played dozens of times per judo event in the Olympics and it sounds like it is ripped straight from one of the AKI games and I love it. Need to find it out what it is.
  24. Some people really were into that shit. I think ALL of the Fiend and Alexa stuff has been some of the absolute worst and most embarrassing shit I have ever seen in wrestling, any company, any era. And I've only seen it in highlight packages at PPVs where they make it look the best it can possibly look.
  25. What a truly hilarious turn of events
