The extra money has taken my wife on vacation for the last 4 years, the kids to Disneyland last year and a bunch of free concerts and stuff through making friends while indulging in this hobby. I love wrestling.

If it is a choice between Buddy and another comp I have made, go Buddy. If Funk or Hansen or Vader is your favorite wrestler then get those but if you want to discover a new guy then go Buddy. After that, I say Regal. For cheap, you can pick up the Dandy set and that will blow you away how diverse Dandy was. Those would be my top 3 wrestler sets... until the Lawler set comes out of course.

It depends. Sometimes what we value in wrestling is so fundamentally different that the argument isn't worth having.

I'm also surprised that TUF didn't even finish in the Top 10. Season 16 was mediocre, but Season 15 with Cruz and Faber was pretty decent. The coaches clearly didn't like each other, but the bullshit wasn't over the top. They actually were among the more interesting to watch in terms of coaching, which I like more than the bullshit. Chiesa was compelling without being "jackass compelling", which I also don't care for. Death of his father, Dana handling the shit well, him coming back rather than leaving, him needing to get his head back together, and being a general underdog who won in the end... good stuff. Not pimping it as that it should have won, but surprised that it didn't even get into the Top 10. John Nobody watched it

Jerry, what do you want us to admit? That the WWF was better in the mid to late 80s? That they were better at using their talent? Loss already summed it up pretty nicely. WWF had a deeper roster and Crockett at their peak used their roster better. What else are you arguing?

I love Jarrett in Memphis. Despised him everywhere else he went. There are entire 5 year spans, maybe more, where he was just unwatchable on the screen.

I have no problem with Austin on the list. Solid stuff at an early age with the Chris Adams feud. His WCW stuff isn't world beater level but he never embarrassed himself in the ring (at least not on a regular basis). His WWF run was epic and he was having good matches even with the coke-addicted booking that made him so popular. He isn't on my list because I can't see him above any of the guys I mentioned but he would definitely be in my Top 25 or Top 30 American guys.

Buddy Landel was still really fucking good in the early 90s. Having said that, I have seen some stacked WWF cards during 1986-87 but then the Crockett cards almost always looked like PPV caliber cards. My buddy, Pat Crocker always bought my comps using money orders. He would write notes telling me about random NWA shows he attended in the 80s and they were all fucking mouth salivating and loaded to the gills. From a quality standpoint, this looks like the most appealing WWF card Jerry mentioned... Scott McGhee fought Barry O to a draw Dan Spivey defeated Terry Gibbs Davey Boy Smith & the Dynamite Kid defeated Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart Hillbilly Jim defeated Big John Studd via disqualification Andre the Giant defeated King Kong Bundy via count-out Bob Orton Jr. defeated Cousin Luke Paul Orndorff fought Roddy Piper to a no contest Don Muraco defeated Ricky Steamboat As a WWF fan, you have Harts vs. Bulldogs which would be the 2 hottest tag teams in the company at the time. You have your Andre appearance. You have Orndorff vs. Piper which would rock and Steamboat fighting some sucky dude. The rest of the card looks like shit but you would probably walk away happy if you were a WWF fan. San Antonio is my hometown so I picked a card for Crockett in San Antonio in 1986. San Antonio wasn't even a regular Crockett loop town. Two duded punching each other in the face... hiding weaknesses. The Roadies vs. Russians probably was not good but has the same sort of freak show appeal that Andre coming to town had. Does anything on the WWF card come close to a Magnum vs. Tully or RNR vs. MX match... on the same card??? Maybe Piper-Orndorff because that fucking rules but how was the WWF so deep that they were featuring a lot of shit matches each show?

Don't be a buzzkill. We make lists to generate conversation, to help people experience guys they may not have seen before or see them in a new light, or just to argue. Also, I am predicting that over 75% of the board falls somewhere on the autism scale, myself included. Making lists and arguing about them is fun and keeps us grounded.
