This!!!!
the TAKA match is not a great match. HHH takes the entire match. TAKA gets ONE offensive move the entire match. HHH overcomes Kaeintai and the APA and it did nothing to make TAKA look strong and is another reminder of why the guy is a self-serving piece of shit. Horrible match. I was talking to Dylan about this and it was overbooked garbage.
Woof... i don't know if we can avoid spoilers but we can definitely put a disclaimer before spoiling.
Grimmas... what are you talking about? Is this a network special like MSG or the Japan show?
If I didnt, the show would go on for 6 hours. I work on Mondays. One thing I have learned from doing so many podcasts... everyone loves the sound of their own voice. The guys get so anxious to get their talking points in that you have to keep em in check.
All guests are on because I want them to be on. I don't want Johnny to change who he is. I want Kris Z, Pete, Dylan, Bix, Scott, Johnny P and others on because I value their opinion even if I disagree with them.
sounds like the show needs a new host
It may happen sooner than later. I will probably do Fast Lane and the Mania live reaction. After that... all bets are off.
Dylan is always welcome to do the show. However it moves on with or without him. I wanted to go on about the HHH shit show but I just don't have the heart anymore. I just don't care enough about the current product to get too high or too low.
I liked the debut of AJ Styles but he isn't one of my guys. I wasn't as excited as some of you are. I didn't think the Rumble was interesting enough to merit a thumbs up. I liked that everyone worked hard but I just don't care about anyone on the roster at the moment. The one healthy guy I care about (Rusev) is a mid carder being punished for having a hot wife. I don't think HHH winning world titles in 2016 is best for business. Mania feels ho hum and I have to just be content being part of the atmosphere and not get caught up in match quality or genuine investment in any of the wrestlers. I seriously don't car e about this company right now. I wasn't even angry when Trips won. I expect this company to disappoint me on all fronts when it comes to booking.
Parv has access to the DVDVR Lucha Nomination voting process to see criticisms of lucha matches. If he doesn't see criticism, then he isn't looking very hard.
The board crashed during the AWA voting period. Incidentally, the lucha set sold way better than the AWA set. The membership of DVDVR along with the board crash killed the voting. Also, with the various holdups in creating a new 80s set, I never set a firm votinng deadline. Chris Harrington took the initiative to tally up the ballots he had. I had a ballot but didn't turn it in. Others I know also didn't turn in a ballot because we didn't know Chris was ready to just tally the votes.
I have Casas and Santo in my Top Ten. I considered turning in a ballot with nothing but luchadors and Memphis guys but created a normal ballot.
The biggest indictment now is that they are boring, predictable and uninteresting. Besides Roman, there isn't one guy on that roster they want you to care about. For me, I haven't cared about anyone since Rusev and Cesaro went down. I just don't care and that is a bigger crime than being bad but interesting.
This is exactly where I stand. I thought HBK with HHH as his lackey was perfect and HBK during this run was one of my favorite heels. Once the Outlaws joined (who I loathed more than now) it was all downhill. HHH makes a better lackey than a leader.
Which he hasn't in 10 years....why would he now? Angle has pretty much made it clear since 2008 or even earlier he was game for a return so it's not like it is a desire to stay in TNA that's kept him away for so long. Vince can obviously overrule Triple H on things but Kurt Angle I don't think is gonna be one of them.
I was responding to your point that HHH is the reason he isn't back. Meltzer recently said on a podcast that Vince doesn't want Angle back. This was after I posted this.
I argued for Hart having the best managerial run with the First Family but Heenan lasted longer in multiple companies with different roles. Cornette's peak is right up there. However, a lot of the best bits from Cornette were taken directly from Hart's Memphis run. Cornette on commentary was gold though.
