  1. I really liked the first fall. It definitely had that Joshi MPro feel, some cool spots and a great pace, that boston crab Ozaki was doing was awesome, and a nice dive segment. After that it was still entertaining enough, but it did wear on me toward the end. A bit too much of the same thing. The last few minutes though did have a good intensity. A lot of these girls I don't recognize, but I liked those handspring mule kicks by whoever did them.
  2. Odd match. Something about February cage matches with Ric Flair in WCW. Flair randomly knocks out the ref early on, but he gets up and keeps reffing. Savage actually takes a shot at the ref later, too, and it's not really acknowledged. Other than the weird moments, match isn't bad but did nothing for me, and I was ready for it to end well before it did.
  3. Awkward, inexplicable angle and segment -- a portent of things to come for WCW. The beginning when Sullivan and Pillman are going at it was pretty great actually, made me want to see the match.
  4. Really good promo. The Flair/Savage feud feels pretty hot.
  5. Christopher does look good here, shows some charisma, gets over with the crowd and looks good in the match. The tag match is a lot of fun, mostly Christopher and Lawler taking it to the heels who sell great for them. Rich picks up the cheap win and the next fall is Gilbert vs. Lawler in a singles match, which is mostly a vehicle for the angle going on outside the ring. Christopher comes back out at the end and really takes it to Rich. Christopher's superkicks look pretty good.
  6. Man this ruled; it had been too long since I saw a great lucha trios. Silver King and Apolo Dantes confront each other before the match, but El Dandy and Satanico start it off with some nice traditional matwork. Dantes and King are in next and have a very aggressive exchange, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Rudos take the first fall and the second fall is a free for all. Loved the spot in the beginning of the second fall when the rudos are beating on Silver King and Santito is fighting to pull him out. Some really awesome sequences where guys are hitting move after move with the teams switching who has the momentum. Santo is pretty spectacular is some of his moves here, and hits a really nasty slide through the ropes dropkick to the back of Casas' head. Casas grabs a quick small package on Santo and the rudos take it 2-0 in an unexpected ending. Post-match angle is that Santo's shoulders were up, he protests and they replay the angle a couple times. Definitely #2 match of the year so far.
  7. I usually find myself tuning out of these ECW pulp fictions when they're on the set but this one I enjoyed. Cactus' and 2 Cold's promos were funny. Insane 2 Cold didn't become a bigger star -- had the ring skills, had the charisma, could talk.
  8. Cool to see some 90s British smarks. Definitely on the lower end of MPro tags, I don't know if I'd even call it good if not for the dives.
  9. Benoit takes essentially all of the match and is good enough to keep it interesting enough to not get boring. At the very end Benoit takes a sick bump off a missed suicide dive and Savage follows it up with a really beautiful elbow drop to the back of Benoit's neck. Fun enough over-booked post-match angle. Savage really berates Liz after the match for not warning Hogan of the attack; Savage is still an emotionally abusive partner!
  10. Very very whiny, but if Vince is going to throw a fit at least he puts forward a decent argument.
  11. Yuge TV main event. Feels bigger than similarly big name matches WCW gives away on TV because WWF does it so much less. What we see of the match is very slow and uninteresting. Non-finish with a Diesel getting involved and laying out Undertaker. Diesel/Undertaker does feel like a big match and Diesel really vibes well as a heel.
  12. Really good match. The martial arts/striking style of both guys is worked into the match really well, gives it a unique feel and everything executed looks great. And yes, this isn't just a spots but a competitive match that builds as it goes along. Ending was unexpected, but in a good way.
  13. I liked this match a lot. Really energetic opening, followed by a short battle between Diesel and Yokozuna, then a Michaels face in peril leading to a really hot finish. Michaels takes some good bumps here. The final assault by Michaels and Diesel was awesome, loved the splash off the shoulders and thought Yoko losing it by countout for his team was a cool ending. Post-match angle is great, really makes Yokozuna look strong. Fans got really into Yoko going wild.
  14. All about the spots, and they're pretty good. Entertaining match. Juvi's offense looked really good here -- there's an awesome German suplex, sit out powerbomb and bridging fall away slam.
  15. I liked the match a lot more than most. It's not by any means great wrestling, but I thought the angle was integrated into the match in an entertaining way. The drama between Mikey and Cactus was well done and I really liked Mikey's run of offense at the end. The wrestling in the match wasn't much but I enjoyed the total package. Angle at the end was good.
  16. Man Eddy looked great here. He was definitely portrayed as the underdog but looked very believable stringing together offense and Luger sold for him. Luger isn't too compelling during his run of offense though. This is a hell of an effective segment -- enjoyable match, Eddy looks great and picks up a win but in a way that lets Luger keep his heat and further his heel turn.
  17. Good, not great match. Nothing really too noteworthy here, just a very solid, competitive juniors style match that kept a good pace.
  18. This match went too long but I really liked a lot of it. There were some really cool big spots, some nice shooty suplexes and intense moments. The ending of the first fall was particularly good. A shorter, more compact match and this could have been really awesome. As it was I enjoyed it but my attention really waned at times.

  20. This was the worst yet. Painfully long and very transparently Vince whining.
  21. Regal's reaction to the USA chant was beautiful. Great beatdown and promo from Finlay.
  22. Good match. I really liked Luger's double clothesline comeback, leading to Sting's hot tag, hitting tons of Stinger splashes and then the scissor kick when he tries to lock in the Scorpion Death Lock. Awesome sequence. Then we get a Sting FIP until Luger CHEATS to win. Sting is unhappy but Luger is super enthusiastic in his celebration. Sting/Luger continues to be pretty good pro wrestling soap opera.
  23. I liked the match, nice spirited brawl. Title change gets a big crowd reaction, but it happening early in the show and them going right into a different angle immediately post-match sort of cheapens it as a big moment.
  24. Incredible TV. This segment just kept getting better and better. The match itself was a fun competitive squash, Vader unloading strikes looked as nasty as ever and Savio's comeback tease was good. Post-match was great, Gorilla getting involved to the point of chopping Vader was a holy shit moment -- I've never seen this angle before. They really teased Vader attacking Gorilla the perfect amount before delivering. Great debut and makes me very excited to see where Vader goes next.
  25. These two take it to each other in the beginning and don't let up. There's not too much in the way of selling, in that one girl will often be right back on offense after taking a string of big moves, but it's not in the sense that the moves come across as not being significant -- you can tell they're accumulating damage, and the way they wrestle especially towards the end gets that across well. Toward the middle of the match I was thinking this was really good, but by the end they had passed into "it should have been over by now" territory. And the actual ending, after all that, was awkward and underwhelming. But the first half of the match, more built around strikes, was really good and the strikes were super nasty. Mainly coming from Hotta, but one great moment in the match is Toyota firing back by grabbing her head and landing a flurry of knees. Good match over all, would have been closer to great with some of the kickouts at the end shaved off.
