I like Ben Fowlkes, big fan of his actually (probably my favorite features writer in MMA), but the idea of the greatest fighter in the history of the sport fighting a guy that has produced mediocre results in the UFC is pretty lame. Don't know what UFC can do or what other other options they've had, but it looks bad if the best they can do is Silva vs Bonnar. You see and hear Dana White & UFC giving shit to fighters outside the UFC, other promotions, or boxing cards for doing similar fights. So I don't know why people don't expect the same criticism towards a fight like this, when UFC does it. Dana was talking shit about squash matches on Strikeforce, not too long ago, and this is exactly that. Not saying it won't be entertaining seeing Silva destroy Bonnar, but it's pretty pointless. People give shit to Mayweather and Pacquiao for not fighting one another, but neither one has ever taken on a guy that is as low as Bonnar's level, even if he was bigger.

So Jose Aldo got his foot injured via motorcycle accident, and had to pull out of his title fight with Frankie Edgar. The best they could come up with was Silva to fight Bonnar?!?! The reaction online is already strongly negative and Dana's going to go insane trying to justify such a one sided fight. Nothing against Bonnar, he uses "exactamundo" in a non-ironic and genuine way, also he's done better since losing to old man Coleman, but this is really terrible match making. I like Snowden's take. Snowden (evilclown): Even the UFC commentator for Mexico, Mario Davila, who did play by play for the last few years is putting it down.

Fighter-wise, it seems most are either upset with Jones or are just bummed out the event was cancelled. Media-wise, you see far more varied response that includes defending Jones, people offering criticism of Dana's reaction, etc.

So a local promotion down here in South Texas decided to have a 14 hour pro wrestling event earlier today.... I was there for 5 hours. Out of kindness, I'll just say I really, really, really regret going for those hours and missing the HBO boxing PPV and the Strikeforce event.

Worst part about Foley was him mocking Kozlov (when they were trying to build up Kozlov as serious threat). I remember him joking about sambo and just being way too cutesy in his commentary. I doubt McMahon played a role in that. Compared to JBL, who was strongly putting over the midcard of Kid Kash, London, Kendrick, Murdoch, Cade, Taylor all the time, it seemed awful that Foley couldn't be bothered to put over someone they were building up like Kozlov.

So Rogan's either conning his fans (since he's financially involved with the ridiculously named Alpha Brain) or he's incredibly naive (which is possible given his personality). Yeah, in Texas I had substitute teachers that were 18-19 years old. You need a HS diploma, just take a course that last a couple of weeks, sit in on a few classes, and you're allowed to be a substitute here. Like Dylan said, different states have different rules.

I went to some house shows with Christian as ECW Champion. He was one of the best guys on the roster at getting the crowd into his matches and the finishing stretches for his matches then were usually hot.

So UFC is going to have Brandon Vera in the main event to UFC on FOX IV against Shogun. The same Brandon Vera that hasn't been relevant in over 5 years and hasn't looked good since 2006. The same Vera that was fired and only rehired back because Thiago Silva used fake urine in their fight where Vera's face was destroyed. The same Vera that suffered knockdowns and got his arm ripped apart by Eliot Marshall of all people, and still got a bad decision win in the Fall of 2011. I can already predict that Dana's going to be furious at Meltzer again in August when the ratings come back. Awful, awful main event.

Isn't Pat Patterson responsible for laying out that Hogan-Warrior match? I pick Cena for reasons that Dylan and Mad Dog already went over. Cena having matches that range from fun to great with guys like Punk, Sabu, Jericho, Edge, Show, Michaels, RVD, Mysterio, Lashley, Umaga, Orton, Khali, and more is pretty neat. Also, Cena's one year title reign was probably the most fun and exciting WWE title reign I can remember in a long time.

Not sure if I got the birthday part right, but Steph definitely bought Hunter a bunch of wrestler frames.
