Styles really made all of Balor's weakest moves look totally deadly.

I don't actually understand the Demon character at all.
-
That was literally the most "showcase" match Emma has ever had on the main brand.

I'm doing a live blog over at Segunda Caida at least until we have to leave for a concert. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/10/wwe-tlc-2017-live-blog.html

I really liked Owens/Shane, and I think I have hated every other Shane cosplay main event. This PPV overall was my favorite one in quite some time.
-
I think Natalya is a really good heel. After seeing enough Total Divas I would never want to be around her for any length of time.

Got home late but still doing a live blog, thought the Hype Bros/Gable/Benjamin totally delivered. The pre-show matches have been really good since the Network started. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/10/wwe-hell-in-cell-2017-late-blog.html

I was going to mention Berzerker since I literally wrote up every one of his matches this year because of my love of him...but he felt like too good a wrestler to mention here. In fact people are mentioning a lot of wrestlers who I think are more often than not thought of as "good".

I'm behind (had to watch Halt & Catch Fire and finish The Sinner with the lady) but I'm doing a "live" blog over at SC: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/09/wwe-no-mercy-2017-live-blog.html Really confident Reigns/Cena and Braun/Brock will deliver.

If it's based on the guys I seem to talk about positively way more than anybody else, then I guess my boys would have to be Virgil and Comandante Pierroth. And about a couple dozen fat guys.

I came away from every Kairi match but the Storm match and maybe the Kai match way more impressed with her opponent. Thought Shayna had a great showing in the tourney. The crowd seemed really into her and she seemed to get a genuine kick out of getting chants. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/09/mae-young-classic-final.html

We reviewed episode 6 at Segunda Caida: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/09/mae-young-classic-episode-6.html Far and away the best episode so far, both of us like every match.

We wrote up episode 3. I liked Piper's match more than Phil, both of us really dug the Devi match (though Phil even more), neither of us enjoyed Storm. I didn't think Piper would advance and found myself really rooting for her, the same way I was rooting for Kendrick against Nese in the CWC. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/09/mae-young-classic-episode-3.html

I missed tons of Heat and Thunders, so I'm sure there are several Joey Abs matches or something that I'd be excited to finally watch. Plus I assume we'll get the international Heats which I've never seen.

Phil and I reviewed episode 2. A clear step back from ep 1 due to the odd inclusion of a certain match, but I came away impressed by Xia Li and Sarah Logan. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/08/mae-young-classic-episode-2.html

Sure, if after having a 19 year career getting booked to wrestle in a high school gym in front of 75 people is your definition of "getting work." He's an paralleled success an artiste, with standards of the highest order that we could only aspire to. You sound like you have a strange personal problem with Low-Ki, while also seeming miffed that he didn't make different career choices. Seems like he makes ends meet just fine, and he's never stopped having awesome matches. I'm not really sure what else I would want out of a pro wrestler.

Bringing back Curt Hawkins, giving him a decade old "Chuck Norris Facts" gimmick and debuting him in a loss on Main Event was a pretty weird one.

Phil and I are going to be writing all of these up at Segunda Caida. First episode was more fun than I expected, already bummed we won't be seeing more Borne or Jazzy. Pissed we won't get a Baszler/Jazzy showdown. But still, first ep was a win. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/08/mae-young-classic-episode1.html

Good run is an understatement. I think his 2/3 Falls match against Dutt is arguably the best match in TNA history, the Ultimate X match was my favorite of that gimmick, and 3 way opposite Fantasma and Sydal was awesome.

Because I'm an idiot, I actually called Brian Dyet's office (he works for University of Colorado) and was politely sent to his voice mail after - believably - being told he was not in that day. I left him a nice message with a request for an interview, genuinely curious about his experience on tour with AJPW. It was 20 years ago and he likely doesn't talk about it tons, but I'm still optimistic for a call back.

Is anybody outraged that Johnny Cockstrong was doing strong dick spots 7 years ago and isn't getting royalties?
-
Vinny was also the trainer in charge the night Great Khali killed a student in APW. That's a pretty extreme version of "whose fault is it?"

Did you not see the gauntlet match?

Austin went into detail on one of his podcasts that he did with Jim Johnston (it's worth a listen for his reasoning behind many of his themes). Basically, this all started when Austin approached Johnston with a copy of Bulls on Parade by Rage Against The Machine as a template for his new theme song. It took Johnston eight hours to finalise what we know today, and those glass shatters were only added in at the end of production. Johnston basically wanted a noise that captured an "oh shit!" from the crowd and thought glass shattering evoked that sense of something bad happening. It's actually an amalgam of three different noises: glass shattering, a car crash and an explosion. You can't really hear the other two noises due to the higher frequency of the glass shattering. It's funny that a car crash is mentioned, as Austin's theme is nearly identical to Razor Ramon's theme. Same tempo, same beat, starts with squealing tires instead of breaking glass.
