  1. Gringo Loco was the reason Marko Stunt's MLW debut showcase went as well as it did
  2. 1993 Rumble is really weird, half great and half dreadfully boring. The best part about it is that is legitimately feels like a love letter to the territories, filled with a bunch of nods to old 80s feuds that didn't happen in WWF, and dream matches that never happened. The match starts with basically a 4 minute Flair/Backlund match (Papa Shango gets dumped quick), and we get a bunch of regional stars like Lawler, Tenryu, Dibiase, Hennig, Carlos Colon (?) so you get a bunch of great match ups from guys who were all big stars at the same time but didn't really cross paths in their prime. Is it the only footage of Backlund/Flair having a match? Or Lawler/Backlund, or Lawler/Tenryu? But the pacing is all wack. All the action comes in bunches, and the slow parts take an eternity. We get weird long runs from Damien Demento and Jerry Sags, the standout performances are Virgil and Brian Knobbs, just weird. The highs are really high, but the lows are LOW and they're all over.
  3. My boy Tim Livingston is over and we're starting the Rumble~ https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2019/01/wwe-royal-rumble-not-live-but-not-far.html
  4. I'd never seen Eagles before this, came away super impressed with her
  5. Nia/Ronda is awesome. We still have that one in our Top 30 this year. There were no other matches at MITB that were approaching this match. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/06/2018-ongoing-moty-list-ronda-vs-nia.html
  6. Gotta be Berzerker's plancha to an opponent while the opponent was lying on the floor. Nord had to be 300 lb. when he started in WWF and he used this plancha after wins, but only used it for his first 10 matches in WWF, never again for the rest of his run. Sometimes he would make it more of a slingshot kneedrop from ring to floor. Insane spot.
  7. It's probably been said a zillion times, but ed Ferrara's fury pink shirt, pleather pants, and dreadlock extensions is the Hindenburg of mid-life crisis disasters.

    TLC 2018

Got home from the movies after the show had started, but I'll still be writing up the show. Excited for the women's trios and Nia/Ronda, not excited for Ambrose/Rollins. https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/12/wwe-tlc-121618-late-blog.html
  9. I really thought this show was a little lame, with Nia's heel reaction and blowing on her knuckles the only thing I really dug. And then we got those last two matches and I had zero cares what came before. Those matches delivered far more than I was expecting. Ronda is legit, can't imagine not watching anything at all with her at this point. I thought Brock/Bryan was going to end with Brock crushing Bryan completely, can't believe the match flipped that switch and let Bryan just hang toe to toe with him. Awesome final hour.
  10. Doing a behind-live blog, feels like I'm always going to be disappointed in modern traditional Survivor Series matches. They always seem rushed now and it didn't always use to feel that way. Pre-show tag match could have been something good, but it clears out so quick. Ah, well. https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/11/wwe-survivor-series-2018-live-blog.html
  11. Here's our ongoing list, still a bunch more stuff I want to watch. More Japan, more CWF, more lucha, more Drew Gulak and Revival, more indies. Nice to see others still love Gargano/Almas 1/27 as much as I do. https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/01/2018-moty-master-list.html
  12. That was far and away my least favorite of all the TakeOvers I've watched. That main event was a neverending hell.
  13. Wow the women's title match really underdelivered. Hated that finish, whole thing felt rushed.
  14. Went and saw NXT live on Thursday and am excited for this show. Just got home and figured I would do an (almost live) blog. Can't imagine people live were stoked by the Riddle/Ohno match, but I chuckled. https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/11/nxt-takeover-wargames-2-almost-live-blog.html
  15. I'm almost caught up on Fusion and have been writing about the matches I liked the most, for people wondering what's worth checking out. Here's a fun Yehi showcase, an awesome 5 minute PCO/Brody King stiff fest: https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/11/mlw-worth-watching-yehi-holliday-hart.html Here's a bunch of Teddy Hart matches, because Hart has been GREAT in MLW. https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/11/mlw-worth-watching-teddy-hart.html Here's a cool debut from Myron Reed, a nice compact Hager/Gotch match, and Sami Callihan working over Kotto Brazil: https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/10/mlw-worth-watching-brazil-hager-gotch.html
  16. Here's a few more matches I really liked, none list worthy but all worth seeing. A short Jeff Cobb/Jack Swagger power match, a Kotto Brazil/Rich Swann match that played more like a NJ vet torturing a young lion and the lion starts fighting back, and Teddy Hart's debut. https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/10/mlw-worth-watching-cobb-hager-swann.html
  17. I wonder how many times Tamina has been brought back, treated like a big deal in her first match back, before someone goes "Oh that's right Tamina has been around for a decade and she's still horrible." We already had that moment earlier this year right?
  18. After liking a few of the recent singles matches (especially Ki/Fenix) I started from the beginning and have been writing up what I think are the best matches. I'm thru episodes 1-6 and I like the pace of the show. Dirty Blondes I've seen before in CWF, and they've gotten even better since then. Even matches I didn't like had some memorable moments, and I've really liked the sound of Tony Schiavone's voice calling some wrestling. He seems super into the product and it's really made the show more fun for me. https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/10/mlw-worth-watching-aries-dirty-blondes.html
  19. Can Brie be on time for anything? Anybody else catch Sarah Logan have to pretend that Brie grabbed her ankle while she was stopping Rousey, but Brie either forgot or whiffed?

  21. I'm pretty sure we've written up more Negro Casas matches this year than any other wrestler. I know all time we've had more Negro Casas posts than any other wrestler. Here's a bunch of the best Casas stuff of 2018 (and other years, but all the 2018 recommended Casas is here): Modern Casas Worth Watching Can't believe some people think he's washed. He's had a great year and most nights is in there with people half his age, and easily keeps up.

  23. thank god lmao
  24. I thought the show overdelivered. I really liked the mixed tag (even if the finish was weakly executed) and really liked Bliss/Ronda. The tag match I was dreaded actually ended up being a fun southern tag, and there were enough unique or memorable moments that made the show stand out more than most.
  25. Doing a not live blog, and I like the red cell. Big E's spear is still completely nuts. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/09/wwe-hell-in-cell-2018-behind-live-blog.html
