  1. I'm not a Rollins guy but I can't deny that it was exciting listening to the crowd reaction he was getting. It was cool seeing little kids (and grown dudes) jumping up and down with their hands on their heads during kickouts. And Viktor has been quietly having a really great year in Ascension matches. The guy busts ass, runs hard into clotheslines, shows personality and frustration, works fast and really throws himself into offense and bumps.
  2. Gable/Ziggler was really cool. Ziggler is so annoying and it's great seeing him break out his actual amateur stuff and try to bully around Gable. Gable had a bunch of nice selling moments and they matched up great. I dug how they kept cutting each other off and how they set up signature spots. Much more exciting than I was expecting.
  3. When I worked at the mall 20ish years ago there was an entire Big Dog store, and in the window there was a wrestling parody shirt. It was a shirt for Bone Cold Steve Pawstin. It had the Big Dog wearing a Stone Cold type leather vest.
  4. Based on my own personal circle, I had tons of friends who loved Tito Santana during 89-91, and he also seemed to be a guy that parents would always like (whenever my or my friends' parents commented on what we were watching, Tito always came off so wholesome to them).
  5. This match is our favorite match of 1976: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2015/01/1976-match-of-year.html
  6. I think Rowan has overall looked better than Harper so far this year. People don't like Rowan?
  7. I really liked the Nia/Alexa match, but that scripted promo after really was brutal. No delivery in the world could have saved that. It even rhymed several times! If any actor can make those words come off genuine, then they have a career.
  8. I liked the weird pace some of those matches were worked. But the layout for the last two matches was terrible. Took me way out of a show that I was enjoying.
  9. Braun came off like such a heel during that postmatch beating. The fans kept getting more quiet the longer it went.
  10. I think Cass got more heat by beating up Bryan after tapping, as if had beaten Bryan the fans just would have turned on him. This way they actually seemed like they were despising him as a character, not as "someone being pushed by the company".
  11. That Orton/Hardy match threatened to get interesting after that backdrop on the barricade, but man can those two guys give a disinterested performance. That was a "I have a head cold at a house show let's not mix things up" match after the barricade spot.
  12. She was pathetic on offense, which is especially egregious when you're supposed to be a monster. She had nothing to offer other than a million biels. It was like when Ezekiel Jackson would do nothing but bodyslams. I think the biels all make for great visuals, she had several avalanches and a big lariat, and she didn't have more offense as she was using her bigger moves to set up Bliss offense. The missed somersault senton and banzai drop, and fighting over the middle rope samoan drop, all gave Bliss actual realistic ways to stay in the match. If Bliss took more monster offense, it wouldn't have been a very interesting match.
  13. Can't believe people thought Nia Jax looked bad in that match. She was awesome setting up realistic openings for Bliss, and took 3 big bumps. I thought both were awesome in that match.
  14. The thought of that scares me, because I remember what he was like when he was the WWE Champion, but maybe that is because of the stupid "authority" angle, which seemed to never end. As someone who was heavily anti Rollins and am still not the biggest fan in the world of him by any means, I think he's performed very well in basically all of his big matches this year. More or less, if you ask me if I'd like to see Rollins or Balor get pushed up the card, I'd go Rollins strongly. Though that's partially me not liking Balor at all. Choosing between Rollins and Balor is like choosing between boiled turnips or boiled parsnips.
  15. Mickie is the #1 worker in the company at the moment. She's been on fire this year. Not as much buzz for the show as I was expecting, looks pretty good on paper. But I also didn't watch the GRR so others could be more burnt out that I am. I'm attempting a live blog: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/05/wwe-backlash-2018-live-blog.html
  16. I also saw Solar live earlier this year, against Skayde and a local guy. The match was worked with only two men in the ring at once, with the other able to tag in, which was obviously preferred to a 3 way. Solar really busted butt for the 19 minute runtime, with an impressive gas tank (especially for a dude in his 60s), even getting into the ring for his final run of the match by flipping over the ropes. Skayde was fat and slow and didn't do a ton of "Skayde stuff", but Solar carried himself like a legend, and worked respectably.
  17. Finally watched this tonight, been saving it. I haven't read through the thread, but I'll say that I could have watched 12 hours of something like this. I do wish it had less Hogan, even though I recognize that would be impossible. But at some point it felt like we hadn't even seen Andre footage in several minutes and were just hearing Hogan talk. I wish they had focused more on his friendship with Tim White, and I wish we had seen more broken Andre footage.
  18. Nicholas didn't have that TNA stink on him.
  19. I went to a Los Angeles indy show a couple months after 9/11, and after working a long match and cutting a promo, sucking wind, he apologized to the crowd for being "blown up like the Twin Towers". It completely killed the crowd and his brother was sitting front row howling the whole time.
  20. Phil and I wrote up TakeOver and I was totally blown away. If we get a wrestling show better than this in 2018 then it will be an amazing year for wrestling. Andrade and Gargano are amazing, really blown away by both of them right now. I rarely liked indie Gargano and while I was a Sombra fan (especially as Rush's lackey) I never would have guessed he had THIS in him. Add in one of my all time favorite WWE women's matches and this was a scorcher. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/04/nxt-takeover-new-orleans-4718.html I'm on board for at minimum all the TakeOvers from now on.
  21. Renee and Regal on commentary in NXT was always awesome.

    Wrestlemania 34

Stephanie was incredible. Everybody played their parts PERFECTLY in that tag match. Wow wow wow. I was not at all thinking that match would be any good, but it was sooooooo good!! I cannot be more happy with that match.

    Wrestlemania 34

I got tons of people over so I'm super distracted but just got to the main show content. Battle Royals were both good, TONS of big time elimination bumps. Mojo's was the best. Ryder getting bounced might have been better. blog below: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/04/wrestlemania-34-blog.html
