In the United States, iced tea makes up about 85% of all tea consumed and is very popular as an alternative to carbonated soft drinks, especially in the hotter southern states: it is ubiquitous in restaurants, convenience stores, vending machines, and grocery stores. It may be freshly made on premises, or available in bottles and cans, and at self-serve soda fountains. Restaurants typically give the customer the choice of sweetened or unsweetened. The oldest printed recipes for iced tea date back to the 1870s. Two of the earliest cookbooks with iced tea recipes are the Buckeye Cookbook by Estelle Woods Wilcox, first published in 1876, and Housekeeping in Old Virginia by Marion Cabell Tyree, first published in 1877. Iced tea had started to appear in the USA during the 1860s. Seen as a novelty at first, during the 1870s it became quite widespread. Not only did recipes appear in print, but iced tea was offered on hotel menus, and was on sale at railroad stations. Its popularity rapidly increased after Richard Blechynden introduced it at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. Iced tea's popularity in the United States has led to an addition to standard cutlery sets: the iced tea spoon is a teaspoon with a long handle, suitable for stirring sugar into glasses. In the summer, iced tea is at its most popular. It is a common stereotype of the Southeastern United States due to the popularity of sweet iced tea in that region that unsweetened iced tea is not available and/or frowned upon. It is true that often the term "iced tea" is assumed to mean sweetened iced tea by default in that region. Iced tea varieties Iced tea is traditionally served with lemon slice used as a garnish, which is often placed on the rim of the glass. In the Southwest United States (or at least in restaurants with a Southwest theme), lime is also very popular (especially in Mexican restaurants). It is not entirely uncommon for establishments to put out slices of both lemon and lime for the customer to take for themselves.[citation needed] Because of the varieties of eateries in the United States, as well as climatic and cultural differences, a variety of iced teas are available. Most prominent are: In barbecue, soul food, and Southern cuisine-style, establishments, along with greasy spoons and general eateries, black tea is iced. This is by far the most commonly available form of freshly brewed iced tea, to which the above statements apply. Fruit-flavored teas and tisanes are also popular iced. In some coffeehouses, more exotic varieties may be iced, such as Jasmine tea or Earl Grey tea. Thai iced tea is common in Thai restaurants. Iced Chai (spiced Indian tea) is available from some restaurants and stores. While not traditionally served iced, in the U.S. chai is frequently served iced, with honey as a sweetener, or pre-sweetened when bottled. Iced Jasmine tea, Genmaicha, and Hojicha are available from some Chinese cuisine or other Asian cuisine restaurants, but rarely. It is more common to find one of these varieties hot, where the patron may pour the tea over ice. But the tastiest is raspberry.

I said on the show that every match was great, and I could have thrown all of them into a hat and chosen the rankings. -

I was at that show! I was 16 years old, and it ruled. I remember thinking Mulligan was gonna have a heart attack. He was dressed in the bunkhouse gear under the hot lights and looked like he was about to keel over.

It was 1 of 11 groupings of things that I listed for Warrior in that segment. Not exactly what I'd hang my hat on. Did Rude sell well in the section? Sure. I highlighted some of it that was that was quite strong just to get across that Warrior wasn't working with a broom. Rude wasn't doing 90% of the work in that section. He was, at most, doing 50% of the work. Did it well. My point was when I wrote that long thing, and now, that Warrior surprisingly held up his end of the bargain to a degree that the "Rude Had The Greatest Carry Job In WWF History" notion wasn't true. It's a notion that I had before rewatching it, and simply found completely lacking after the rewatch. And this typifies literally everything I've ever said in response to you. Rather than watch the match to make a reasoned reponse, you pull shit out of your ass that isn't correct. I get why you can't stomach a discussion with me: I point out where you're wrong, you try to bullshit your way through it rather than admitting you're wrong, I point out that your new bullshit is wrong, wash, rinse, repeat until you go running out of the thread without admitting your wrong. Yeah... that must be hard to stomach. It really beats the heck out of me why you "bowed back in" to offer nothing. Jesus Christ , just tell Jerry you want to fuck him and be done with it.

That was a fun fucking show, better than the last one, and The Rhodes Family vs The Shield stuff was so fucking awesome it was worth the 45 bucks just for that. Money well spent.
-
Holy shit.
-
RVD vs ADR was a stone blast. And having Sandow get a knee injury to explain why he didn't cash in was a nice bit of detail. And Cesaro rules.
-
Tensei looking pimp.
-
Sandow vs Ziggler was a fun little opener.

They spelled Goldust wrong.

I don't think HHH's Crockett digs have had anything more behind them than Edge saying HHH married his way into stardom. They just like coming up with shooty little things to make the situations seem a little more real. I bet HHH loved going face to face with Dusty due to his love of 80's NWA. And let's face it, the Rhodes Family angle is for "us", and what better way to get us mad at the bad guy than by insulting the wrestling we all love?

Jimmy Valiant vs Paul Jones' Army is my pick for greatest non Main event feud. Match quality be damned.

Hilariously awful. I loved him.

Well, Summerslam that year kinds of bears that out a bit. The hype for Austin/ Taker was awesome. and the match was great, but Rock/ HHH ladder match was a bit of a show stealer. And the crowd was exploding at the finish.

How do you self-identify as a wrestling fan?
Johnny Sorrow replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Megathread archive
The thing is, you do get five star matches in WWF and wacky shit in Crockett. The Valentine/ Tito matches are as great as anything in Crockett, and the New Breed were as wacky as any WWF stuff. -
