Did Crockett ever actually air on WPIX 11 in NYC? I sure don't remember that, but this was right around the time I pretty much stopped watching wrestling as a senior in High School.

As someone who read every one of the Oz books, let me just say bravo. -
Ha, Mohammed Hussein is the name of the owner of the strip club I dj at part time. He calls himself Marty, though.

He strikes me as someone who's goofy as hell and knows it... who's confident he's cool in his goofiness and that's all that matters. That's great. If Jericho had come back as some serious asskicker it'd suck.

I still want a pair of tyedye pants like Pillman was sporting. I love the begining of Nitro. James J Dillon arrives in a limo and Tony's all, "WHAT A WAY TO START NITRO!"

What I always loved about Vince as a commentatar even post expansion was that he made every match feel important. I remember an interview with Joey Styles back in the height of ECW being hot and they asked him who his favorite announcers were. This was during that period of time where Styles was the golden boy of announcers among fans, and he said Jim Ross and Vince McMahon. The interviewer was shocked that Styles said Vince and Styles said something along the lines of Ross for his knowledge and passion and Vince for the reason I stated above.

I watched the "Greatest Wrestling Families" on WWE 24/7 today, and this topic popped up in my head. First thing I thought of was how ridiculous a porn version would be. "Fans debate as to whether the Jeremy's or the Jameson's are the most influential families in our great business, but more great performers trained in the Jeremy Dungeon than in any other training facility."

Here's a neat little thing. I went to watch the first "ECW One Night Stand" DVD tonight when I got home from work, and I finally looked at what the extras are on it. I saw an "Alternate Commentary" selection and it's the show from when he arrives and everything he says throughout the rest of the night. Not just what was broadcast, but pretty much everything he was saying "off-mic". It sounds like when the NFL do the whole, "Here's what the Coach was saying" thing, the "sounds of the game". He wasn't loving that Awesome/ Tanaka match as it looked from just his facial reactions. He was shitting all over it, and it's pretty funny, for the most part.

I had no idea Harley Race was working Crockett and started a fued with Magnum TA in early 1986. Did they ever go anywhere with this? It must have been shortlived. I didn't have cable at the time, they never mentioned it on WorldWide, and never read one bit about it in any of the Apter mags.

He didn't seem coked out to me, but he sure did seem fucking stoned. He did pull off the point of the segment, that being the whole "this is the first time Kerry has seen this footage" deal...while stoned. The Kevin/ Bundy match on this show is really, really good. Oh, and Lowrence's intro of "The Samoan" was great. "From Samoa, the Samoan".

Eddie Graham was an incredibly creative dude, but why in the world was Buddy Colt on commentary? That's a lisp worse than Peter Cook in "The Princess Bride". He sounds like Big Gay Al. But, hot damn. Dusty Rhodes and Blackjack Mulligan doing Gus McCrae and Woodrow Call from Lonesome Dove BEFORE the movie was made is fucking awesome, as is the Barry Windham/ Ron Bass match.

I'm drawing a blank on who the dude with the namesake of a famous cowboy would be.

Yeah, a drug test upon suffering an injury at work is something that'd be the policy of the company. I've worked for a number of different corporations in the Nursing Home field, and it's definitely the company's call. -
Yeah, Arn keeping kayfabe is one of my favorite things on the DVD. And I totally love that dvd set. Flair alone makes it funny and cool.

Back to Steve Austin, as far as his post Blondes run as US Champ goes, I really think the Duggan loss was so stupid that it overshadows what was a great run with some super matches, especially with Steamboat, as someone pointed out earlier. I'm surprised that I'm the first to mention the super cool trunks he'd wear with various messages on his ass like "US CHAMP" or "DRAGON KILLER" based on the occasion.

That's all kinds of spectacular.

Oy vey, that made my eyes and head hurt. -
The kiss he'd give at the cameraman when coming down the aisle in WCW was particularly great. Such a simple little touch, but it didn't come off "gay" or "ladies man". It was more like a kiss of death considering how pissed off he looked.Damn, I forgot how awesome it was when the Road Warriors were the surprise on this RAW.

Before I moved to Colorado I picked up a bunch of ROH DVD's at the COD show. I never got around to watching them all so last night I finally watched disc 2 from Supercard of Honor. The Danialson/ Strong match in that is all kinds of great. Danialson's scientific heel stuff rules it, Strong as plucky face who's secondary to his partner Aries because Aries is a former champ, so he needs to prove himself stuff is cool. The match is a lot of fun. What sucks on the DVD is the "pop-ins" on commentary by "Jimmy Bauer". Ugh, just awful.
