  1. I guess saying it is unwatchable, because you didn't watch it makes sense. However if you actually watch that match it is freaking great. Here are all the thoughts in the match thread: Charles: Tim: Chad: and the one negative view Tim Evans:
  2. Peterborough forgot to send in their report to Smeltzer, so it was a little late. Here you go, though: Maple Leaf Wrestling August 19, 1983 at Memorial Centre in Peterborough, Ontario 1. This match saw Alexis Smirnoff, Buzz Tyler and Ivan Koloff all trying to interfere in this wild brawl. The referee banned them all, leaving these two alone.
  3. Yeah I'm thinking a prime time wrestling type show. Show stuff that was taped and TV dark matches. Actually kind of part Prime Time Wrestling, part Best of the WWF and part showing past matches that hype upcoming shows.
  4. Everything with the Match, description, Winner format is taped. Everything that is just a list is not! These matches should appear on the new Maple Leaf Wrestling TV show, debuting soon.
  5. What boring booking though. I wish they would just ditch the MITB altogether.
  6. Even the TV match from Chicago? Loss was real high on it, I had it as the best match in ECW history. Unwatchable is a huge stretch.
  7. They had a really great series of matches in '99 against the Dudleys.. but not enough.

His commentary on Raw was so refreshing. He should be the new hot star in the company and facing guys like Brock and Cena, but he's not even close and is essentially dead.

Is there an example of a guy who got pushed to the top, moved down and worked as a midcarder and then became a legit drawing main eventer again?
  15. Ok, we have found a promotion that rivals Montreal for its tag team division!
  16. Maple Leaf Wrestling August 20, 1983 at Oshawa Civic Auditorium in Oshawa, Ontario 1. NWA Canadian Tag Team Champions Ivan Koloff & Super Russian w/ Don Carson vs Rocky Johnson & "Big" Stephen Petipas Before the match Cuban Assassin and Bobby Bass laid out Rocky Johnson leaving him bloody. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine w/ Don Carson vs Wahoo McDaniel Alexis Smirnoff came to ringside after a few times that Carson interfered on Valentine's behave. Can they ever create a new star if they get a short run on top early on and then drop low on the card before moving back up?

    Upward Progression

Watching Raw and seeing the IC Title match between Miz-Big Show-Ryback and then seeing Seth Rollins doing the main event angle promo really got me thinking. I think the absolute biggest problem the WWE has is upward progression. The WWE method seems to be putting a new guy into a top program and then dropping them down the card where they never recover. The IC Title division seems to be built around failed main eventers. Shouldn't people get a run with the IC Title and then move up to the main event? I think there is very little issue with somebody being on the undercard and then moving up, while there is a huge problem with getting a main event run and then moving to the bottom of the card. After you drop like that it is really difficult to move someone back up.
  19. I am loving this promotion. So true to form and really great talent pool. Great use of Jim Cornette.
  20. Some of us never want to watch a Benoit match again.
  21. I really want to put Vachon on there, I love his 80s stuff. Really need to watch the 70s stuff though.
  22. Tajiri. Waltman. Muraco. Dustin.
  23. 2013 trumps all other SummerSlams, because it has the two best matches in the history of SummerSlam as well as another top 20 match. No other show in WWE history has that string of great matches, regardless of the other stuff on the show. 2005 was over rated, but Mysterio-Eddie rules!!! I kind of agree that those shows you listed should be looked at more, but the main events were so shitty they make the whole card look bad. Plus I hate Shawn-HHH from 02.
  24. Good analysis. I prefer Punk basically from the start until late 2013-14, then Hero over takes from there. It's close at points, but I can see it. Just a surprise to see how much higher he got.
