  4. Really booking should be simple, just like story telling. Set up something people want to see, make them want it and then give it to them.

  6. Stan Hansen is still my number one and he is a brawler. Favourite brawl ever is Andre-Hansen in NJPW.
  7. MLW debuted the Premium Action show! It's basically a cross between Prime Time Wrestling and Best of the WWF. I wanted to use my taped show footage and since home video is not really a thing yet, here we go.

Mr. Saito vs Ben Bassarab (from July 11 at Halifax Forum in Halifax, Nova Scotia) Basarab was a fighting young lion, but gets beat be the Saito Suplex. Winner - Mr. Saito @ 12:16 Commercial #2 Lyons and Ventura are back in the studio and Ventura raves about Saito again. They then talk about the important of the Canada Cup. It will return in 1984 again, but the first one was on Canada Day on July 1st in Exhibition Stadium. The winner of the first Canada Cup won the NWA Canadian Title. They throw it to the action. We get the introductions of Sgt. Slaughter and Rick Martel. Commercial #3 Canada Cup Final (NWA Canadian Title Tournament) Sgt. Slaughter vs Rick Martel (July 1st in Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, Ontario) Martel enters the match with a badly injured leg and his head wrapped up from the earlier bleeding. This is your classic babyface vs heel match with the heel having a big advantage. Slaughter works the cut and rips off the bandages which gets the blood flowing again. He works a little on the leg, but mostly focuses on the neck to set up the Cobra Clutch. Martel takes every advantage he has to attack Slaughter's back. Late in the contest Slaughter hits the Slaughter Cannon, but Martel gets his leg on the ropes. Slaughter goes for the Cannon again, but Martel ducks and Slaughter bumps huge to the floor. This leads to Martel's comeback and him getting the win with the Boston Crab. Winner - Rick Martel @ 23:12 Rick Martel wins the Canada Cup and the NWA Canadian Title Commercial #4 Legendary former NWA World Champion Gene Kiniski and Maple Leaf Wrestling President Jack Tunny present Rick Martel with the Canada Cup and the NWA Canadian Title. Back to the studio and Lyons raves about Martel's performance that night. He was tested on Canada Day, but Ventura believes his biggest test is on August 30th against Mr. Saito.

  11. Stop calling them divas. Let them have good matches. Build around Sasha. Limit the sucky workers.
  12. My original plan was far Bobby Bass, Phil Hickerson and someone else to form a Team Canada heel team to dominate (ala Rougeaus being pro Americans). That got morphed into my Cuban team when Hickerson was unavailable.
  13. Taker vs Brock started to lose me before the stupid booking. The first part was cool, but they started into the kick out of finisher mode and it started to lose me. The stupid booking just took it over the edge.
  14. I was hoping for more anger. I think I hated this show more than anybody in the world. Fuck SummerSlam.
  15. Gang-Hogan!!! I'd pay tickets for that big time.
  16. That was billed as the main event on TV and the most hyped thing. Different than NXT where both matches were treated as the main events. On SummerSlam if Cena-Rollins went on last it would had been strange. On NXT either could had went on last and nobody would had blinked.
  17. If I was an upstart company then Cavenario would be my Sabu, easily.
  18. If you don't want Bryan to be the main guy, then just put him in a blood feud. Not hard.
  19. The moment WCW closed and there was no competition the Vince you knew was dead.
  20. Part of why our argument got heated is Steven brought up that Becky vs Sasha match which is massive troll match aimed at me. So one I felt sucker punched which is why I went back to the argument later. I do feel you can compare any match , but you'd have more benefits comparing similar bouts. Like the Lothario/Gordman bout compared to a Lawler/Dundee bout from 98. Or maybe the Becky match to the Roddy Strong/Sabre jr match since both are worked around working a limb . I use star ratings for my own reference. Plus it gives a value that words truly can't. I stick with if you rate one match higher than another match, then you think it's a better match. Star ratings are essentially a ranking system, in my mind. Of course there is only so many stars, so some things will have to be put on the same level. Star ratings tell me nothing when comparing two matches, except which one you thought was better.
  21. None, fucking push up the people you have and don't rely on half-retired guys. Where is the new new generation?
  22. The problem isn't so much clean wins, as opposed to even Steven booking.
  23. Shawn Spears, wrestled in my local promtion here and went to OVW in 2006. Has been in and out of WWE for years and even had an ECW run. Man Neo Spirit Pro was so great. You had Shawn Spears, Eric Young, Bobby Roode, Angelina Love, Cody Deaner, Tyson Dux. What a company. Even Lawler was there once.
  24. If the US Title goes back to Cena seriously fuck this company.
