Agreed, but concerts are different. I think the thing forgotten, and why a lot of people were happy is that this match was a Goldberg match. Goldberg squashing Brock was him doing Born in the USA. If Goldberg and Brock did a 20 minute suplex heavy match, that would be more like a concert where Bruce played Backstreet Boys songs.

Live Wrestling: What are you watching, what are you going to watch?
Grimmas replied to Grimmas's topic in Pro Wrestling
Survivor Series and Take Over were insane. Take Over is one of the better shows I have seen and the tag was the best live match I've ever been to. The crowd was into EVERYTHING. Almost a perfect show. Survivor Series was odd. Especially odd being in a crowd where each match has heels and faces on the same team, so who do you cheer for? Outside of that, lots of fun moments including GOLDBERG!!!!!!!!!! Great weekend. -
People shiting on the crowd, well they were perfect for the main!
-
Bless your positive outlook. I would have been furious if I'd bought a ticket for that show. It was a birthday present plus I am a Goldberg mark.
-
Loved the main event!!! Goldberg!!
-
That 10 count nonsense is a crowd into itself. Get over yourself. 20k people really having fun must shit on it.
-
After many dead WWE crowds anyone shiting on this one can fuck off. At least they are into things.

Tye Dillinger love is high.

How does the ten chants over the referees counts come off on TV?
-
It wasn't that it was a dismissive one liner. The issue was it was fat shaming and using that to say it ruins Joe's character. Joe's body type and weight has no effect on his ring or character work.

Was there live. Best show ever you cynical bastards!!

No ppvs from Sept 2006 until this weekend. Maybe not an official ban, but for Toronto always selling and being a hot crowd that is ridiculous.

I have loved Asuka's reign. What is wrong with someone dominating? The Bayley matches were great. Loved the stuff with Nia Jax and the whole Emma/Donna program. Sure Mickie has no chance of winning, but neither did Trish (the original plan). It's nice to see them bring in a "legend" and have the new star beat them, unlike the main roster. Butter tits? Seriously? Joe is fucking awesome, and no matter what he looks like he is certainly a great athlete.

By the way, really looking forward to the spot where Rollins and Ambrose are in the ring and Rollins tags Roman and we get some weird Shield shit.

I'm so glad the WWE lifted their ban on PPVs in Toronto, as it's been a decade since the last one. Now we get both. NXT TakeOver: Toronto November 19, 2016 Shinsuke Nakamura -c- vs Samoa Joe (NXT Men's Title) Asuka -c- vs Mickie James (NXT Women's Title) Booby Roode vs Tye Dillinger The Authors of Pain vs TM-61 (Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals) The Revival vs #DIY (2/3 Falls, NXT Tag Team Titles) WWE Survivor Series November 20, 2106 Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg Team Raw (Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, & Braun Strowman) vs Team SmackDown (AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, & Bray Wyatt) Team Raw (Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, & Alicia Fox) vs Team SmackDown (Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, & Carmella) Team Raw (The New Day, Enzo & Cass, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Cesaro & Sheamus, & The Shining Stars) vs Team SmackDown (Heath Slater & Rhyno, The Hype Bros, American Alpha, The Usos, & Breezango) The Miz -c- vs Sami Zayn (IC Title, if Zayn wins the IC Title will be on Raw) The Brian Kendrick -c- vs Kalisto (Cruiserweight Title, if Kalisto wins the title and the whole division moves to SmackDown) The booking may not be good, but these should be some really fun shows. Revival-DIY could be a MOTYC if they live up to their past and with 2/3 Falls they have a shot. One thing is the crowd will be hot. I love Surivovor Series matches and Goldberg!! One of my all time favourites! Who's going to win, are you excited? Plus live chats. This thread is for everything.

Actually it's obvious it will be the start of Shane vs Brock

Nope, it's not. But Trump's side did it well-enough and retained most republican voters and they turned out. Plus, if so many people are really dying of anxiety because of immigration, muslim, abortion, LBGT issues, etc, and very concerned about the supreme court, then what were they doing sitting out? Bush vs. Kerry wasn't that long ago--some people sat out then that shouldn't have--and we got the worst Bush term of the two by far. This was foreseeable. The polling was not Clinton with a national 10 point lead. It was in the same range as the Brexit polling that shocked everyone, and in the swing states it was even closer than the national average by a point or two. But some people seemed to prefer to keep their hands clean, rather than making a responsible choice, and opted to keep churning out their hot take opinions, outrage policing, and meme quips all over social media, then act horrified that we got Trump? Sure, next time, people hopefully won't don't do the perfectionist fallacy, and voters nominate a candidate that isn't terrible and actually inspires the base. However, it's not like people weren't on notice about this. Why do you think the ones that are so scared didn't vote?
-
Yep, being told your own country hates you is no reason to feel impacted at all. So vote, and go out and get people like-minded with you to vote. This election had fewer votes than 2008 and 2012, and Trump received fewer votes than Romney. It also had two of the most disliked candidates of all-time. If people thought more outside their bubble and their echochambers, I think they'd realize that 'your country hates you' is an exaggeration of what happened with voters. Hopefully Trump isn't so temperamentally unfit or ideologically loony that he drives the country off a cliff in the next 4 years. In the meantime, everyone so unhappy should out and get involved in organizations that will advocate for the things they want to change. It's understandable for people to be emotional for some length of time, but they've got to move beyond that. I've tried to stay off social media since the election, but spent more time on it today. It seems like lots of people haven't moved past that stage and don't want to face reality. I'm left-leaning and I think there's a lot to be hopeful for after 2020, or maybe 2018, if we can keep everything from going to shit in the meantime. Getting people out to vote when your two choices are two of the most disliked candidates of all time is not an easy thing to accomplish.

Wow, what a shitty biased article. So yeah they didn't give people puppies, they held events where there were puppies. What is wrong with school's doing some things to help people deal? If you are a women, LGBT, a mexican, or a muslim in America right now it is pretty fair that you'd be freaked out right now. If school's want to do something to help those people, what is the issue? People are acting like this was a normal election with a normal presidential winner and everybody is just over reacting because their side loss.

Contest of the joke matters. It's not that people made that joke, it's how it's done. Joey's joke was "this girl is pretty, she is so pretty she'd probably be sexually assaulted." That's disgusting. I don't know the other jokes and their context.
-
This is fine as a general principle. The problem is when offense is defined so broadly as to encompass any contrary viewpoint. Right now, college campuses are literally providing coloring books and puppies to help students deal with the "trauma" of Trump's election. Evidence please.

When they apologize and say, I didn't offend anyone because I didn't use the word pussy? When they apologize and say the only reason they were fired, was because it was political and he was told no politics? In the apology they are blatant lies too, like him saying Jeremy Blotter was not upset, when he said he was on twitter. What do you do then? Also, add in that he was a really horrible announcer. I believe in the sentiment, Loss and I agree, but in this case he should just be fired.
-
There you go again. First, you keep saying it's obvious, except it's not obvious from the words he said and the actual clip if you watch it. Second, you also continue to ignore how deliberately disobeying a promoter's orders and then posting a self-righteous littered with lies non-apology, apology letter would look to other wrestling promotions he was associated with. So wrestling twitter is so self-righteous now they take it upon themselves to hound wrestling promoters to fire people who .. disobeyed their boss in another company? Are we happy with that? Seems pretty invasive to me. And not only that, it casts all the people from twitter like a collective bunch of petty tell-tale tits. If I ever bunk off work I better not tell them, I guess, lest they start telling every university around not to employ me. It's CLEARLY about the offensiveness of the comment. There is literally no other narrative you can weave about this that doesn't make wrestling twitter seem like the biggest bunch of cunts of all time. So tread carefully. Joey got fired from Beyond and Chikara because he showed himself to be a misogynist jerk. Chikara made that really clear with their letter, they do not condone that.
