Ive only watched the main event but I expected the good but disappointing thoughts. I thought it was a breath of fresh air that didn't go into complete overkill or have extended leg work that would get blown off by Ibushi with the home stretch. AJ did just enough damage in the early going for it to come back in his leg submission and the teased super moves of Ibushi was effective and teased throughout. As a first match in a series, I thought it was really good and certainly a thought that there is more left in the tank.

RoH in San Antonio.. live as it happens (TV Spoilers for four weeks)

Bummer about Moose not impressing. I thought he was really good at the Atlanta show with a ton or presence and promise. Seems like he had been improving with every show so hopefully this was a minor speed bump. So reading these thoughts, only one of the KRD was unmasked as Sabin? -
Nash doesn't trust Sting? Why is that exactly? Luger helps Sting out here which makes little sense given his personality at the start of the year. We get some terrible promos to finish this thing up.

Good debut back for Eddy and a fine match to fill out a show. Juvy's missile dropkick looked really good here. Eddy gains confidence as the match progresses and is able to put Juvy away. **1/2

This did nothing for me. I guess Hennig was sincere giving Silkk a cowboy hat. Tony says Hennig asked for this??? HOw, what did he do wrong? Done with this shit.

Lodi gives Lenny a back rub in prep for his match tonight. Lenny is even nice enough to move his hair so Lodi can hone in on the perfect spot.

Not much of a performance and not much of a reaction from the crowd. I can't fault WCW on one hand for signing P as he was popular at the time but this doesn't seem like the best environment for him to display his talents.

This feud is ok but I couldn't help but feel that the stuff on WCW felt so much more exciting and cutting edge compared to this. Warrior vs. Lawler at this point didn't seem like a feud that many were clamoring for. KOTR being King's PPV at times was also an odd choice.

Hennan is awesome again and he exits the stage to bring on Kevin Nash behind Eric. The adjective gaffe took me out for a second but Nash was great at bringing something different and dangerous to the table and this angle keeps getting better.

Fun match. Sting again shined for me with his FIP segment and we get some Arn tag staples which I always appreciate. Giant really looks strong in that post match just being a force to be reckoned with. Weird that Regal vs. Sting is coming up on the PPV as I guess that feud was built up on WCWSN? **1/4

I really like this build with the callback to the chokeslam spot from a month before. Giant still looks like a badass but Luger has a chance to win. The Mongo/Greene stuff with Macho showing up at the power plant was a lot of fun as was Bobby giving a spirited promo and again looking more motivated in this angle than he did with anything else in his WCW run.

I agree with you Pete but I liked the spectrum of this segment where Dundee/Lawler are so cocky and happy at the onset and in such disarray by the end when Dundee has to leave town. The match overall is nothing special but attention to detail was superb. *1/2

Another great match and Misawa vs. AKiyama is an awesome team breathing new life into the pairings we were starting to get used to. Akiyama picks up another big win here. This was a straight bomb fest for much of its duration with tons of big moves and either kickouts or saves. At points, it felt excessive but they remained true to form with the saves and AKiyama securing the win overrides any minor negatives I would have for the match overall. Great stuff and a load of fun to watch. Good to see Doc still can bring the goods like this in 1996. ****1/4

This is great. Eddy has came on strong with his Flair match and this and Otani is still my pick for WOTY at this moment in time. I have loved his progression as he does capitalize on his offense in this match and doesn't let his emotions get the best of him. I am impressed when Eddy can get over the stoic nature of Black Tiger given his insanely charismatic personality. This feels like a great time to be consumed with NJ juniors overall. ****

Bobby being the coach was a fun angle and he seemed to embrace the role and seem motivated. The Hall vs. Sting stuff was great and again Sting is portraying himself well for once as the symbol of WCW. We get a tease for a BIG surprise for next week to add to the intrigue. The Goldust stuff is interesting in WWF but this is by far the biggest thing going on in the big two at the moment.

Goldust is in his den painted in gold and covering his unmentionables. He quotes some movies but also has some words for Ahmed while Vince is still disgusted.

This was a really good promo that does feel like Taker meeting a peer now that brings something different to the table instead of just another monster for him to extinguish.

This kept going and going and really drug things to a halt so far. Multiman action that feels like guys just running through sequences and arm drags doesn't play well for me in general and especially not in this environment where I am watching so much and bouncing around years that now Im struggling to remember specifics from a match I watched two days ago. Nothing offensive but nothing that sticks out either. Everything was just there. **1/2

I liked this a good bit too and it was only a slight step before the match before. This felt like more of an exhibition and a showcase for Liger than the great matches these two have produced against each other at times. LIger is still one of the best workers in the world for 1996 so far from what I have seen and this show overall is interesting to watch from a concept perspective.

Really nice spotfest with a lot to love here. It had a lot of great energy that never alleviated and really showed off what Rey and Psicosis can do when they go balls to the wall with each other. I think I may have liked this slightly lower than Loss or Pete as it was the popcorn fun match variety instead of the MOTYC one but it was still a blast to watch overall. ***3/4

Rock arrives in USWA and this is a treat to see. He gets in one line and all things considered it isn't a bad debut. Match is fine but all about Rock's debut. I agree that Lance and Dave are a super commentary team and Rock being led by masters like Dundee and Lawler is good experience and for a first tv match, this is a good performance by him. **1/4

Its a good bit behind Vader vs. Sting for me and I like this match. The straps shots made the biggest impression here as they were brutal and you could see the welts on Austin. I thought this ended up going too long and had too much of a rinse repeat feeling with the same sequences and struggle to touch each corner. Vega picks up the win and DIbiase is on his way out. ***

Pretty good face vs. face match with some athletic spots. I think Sting has been on a consistently good run here having fun matches with a variety of opponents. This was starting to get good when it broke down with Steiner and Luger mixing in. I think Rick was in the wrong here which is not a surprise. ** Hall's promo at the end is great with him calling out Sting and Savage and Bischoff being so gobsmacked that he can't even do a good send off from the air.
