  1. I guess this is Bocks last good match. Everything done here was basic but done well. Really weird card to close out new Japan for the year.
  2. Very clear WTF match. Not good but cool to see and Chono was having a blast. Thesz looked good physically.
  3. Casas outfit is something to behold. This match was fine but was clipped to show the greatest hits version of what they could do. I agree with Liger in 1994. One super match vs. sano and then a couple of good ones with Benoit is about all he had to show for himself. I was really excited to see him to coming off his great 1994. LIger in 1990 is someone I would put behind all three All Japan upstarts and even Muto which I would not have expected coming in.
  4. Albano tells it like it is and vouches for Emilio as a great person based off of one letter.
  5. Good lord David sammartino is still being pushed at this point?
  6. I agree that Lou's segment have had a good mix of wacky fun and actually neat developments like Andre coming in.
  7. Not a bad promo from Orndorff setting up their match together.
  8. Pretty good promo from Doc. This feud has been the best thing in UWF by far.
  9. We finally seem to be putting the Scorpion stuff behind us as Flair is like he was in May and I guess the Doom feud is forgotten to.
  10. Zenk does a serviceable job of meandering through his promo. Arn comes out and shows him how it is done in a fabulous promo putting himself and his opponent over.
  11. Really good all action match. Rogers worked hard and really brought a lot of entertainment to these matches the past couple of months. Th finish was a little abrupt.
  12. Good debut performance by you Shoe. Favorite moments from show were 1. Tootsie and 2. The biggest mark out moment came when Otis was shown in the crowd.
  13. Another great promo by eddie with a good bit of truth in what he says.
  14. Cornette is back where he got his start. Cornette is bringing in the Fabolous ones to watch the King's back but I don't know if I trust that.
  15. Incredible video with a fitting song for the King. That flurry of punches he gives to Landel in the clips is some of the best punches I have ever seen.
  16. I always kind of enjoy Bounty angles in wrestling and Lawler did a good job of standing tall while being cautious about it being put on his head.
  17. This is the Dusty that has been missing. As sick as I was of Dust in 88 Crockett, hearing him give a straight forward fired up promo is always a pleasure.
  18. Video game graphics have come a long way.
  19. Enjoyed these so far as the vignettes have a good atmosphere to them.
  20. I think initially Alfonso followed along those lines but then it got so carried away and cartoonish that it lost a lot of its original focus. I do see someone doing a gimmick like that as a kind of mid card angle and would feel really cheated if tactics like that that were pulled in main events.
  21. Perfect didnt become one of Bobbys guys until he won the IC title in the tournament. He was with the Genius before then.
  22. I think the second half of disc 2 had more disagreements for us than the first half. Tim said he would go thumbs in the middle for High Flyers vs. Blackwell/Patera. I would call it a thumbs up match but it was #4 on the matches we watched last night and I doubt it will be in my top 20 when I turn in a ballot.
  23. Im shocked that people would have that Steve O tag ranked favorably. I wouldnt call it offensive but it struck me as the typical decent tag match. I for instance didn't think it was even as good a match as something like MX vs. SST from Clash 6.
  24. I really enjoyed this podcast. It gave a great overview of the attitude and temper of WCW at this point. The note you said Jason about them having 9 world champions in 7 weeks is just embarassing. I also was unsure whether the Jarrett/Booker match was any good because I was so deflated by what had happened with Russo/Hogan. Good to know that even in essentially a vacumn, that match is not very good.
  25. I don't get why it you would say it took a while for Kobashi to work his way up the card. He was in important marque matches a year into his career 7/15/89 and was one of the 2-3 most important people in the company 3-4 years into his career. He also won the Triple Crown around 8 years after he started. This is shorter than it took Austin, Flair, Misawa, Kawada, Michaels, etc.
