Yeah I've been openly wondering if I could finish this show for 45 minutes, but if you don't like this, I don't know what to tell you. Oh, except how she just walks through the dark alone like some schmuck.

Like I ask every year, what is the point of a 5-hour WrestleMania? What does WWE think the point is?

Chekhov's nose ring. One of my friends here called it during Batista's entrance.

Wikipedia says Raymond James in Tampa.

That was really excellent.

There are a *huge* number of men on the internet, from obese shut-ins to muscle heads to PUAs, who genuinely believe trash such as women are all downhill from age 22, thighs without gaps are too fat, etc. I don't know if you're being generous or naive.

[1992-04-05-WWF-Wrestlemania VIII] Ric Flair vs Randy Savage
PhilTLL replied to Loss's topic in April 1992
Lifeguard lumberjack was Bash at the Beach 1995. Great American Bash 1995 was a regular match. -
Yeah that was an excellent main, and an easy thumbs-up show. The best Big 4 show I've gotten a group together for in some time.

We shared a birthday--shared it with Frank Sinatra, in fact--but they could both throw better punches than me. What was the name of the Houston ring announcer in the Mid-South period who always enunciated everything so well? HO-ZAYYYYYYYY LOOOOO-THAAAAR-EEEEE-OOOOO...

Only the card is under this spoiler tag, but if you didn't want to see it...etc.

Mauro is atrocious. He always struck me as a guy who had a dream to become a wrestling PBP man, and he made it happen, all logic and evidence and lack of talent be damned. His BIG BOY VOICE is the dirt worst.

This is true, but even in that context, Bray Wyatt could be improved if they were willing (or even able) to write him as really creepy. Hannibal Lector didn't succeed by talking in vague metaphors about family, he slurped his tongue at the end of a story about eating someone.
-
The story says he did it to haze new writers. Have there ever been any non-Stephanie women on the creative team? (Non-rhetorical question.)

Bret/Owen *was* a workrate match in its time, though a remarkably story-strong one. Dave has always leaned workrate (see his "a bunch of great moves happened" reviews), and that fuels his now-ism a bit.

Dell from Private Practice? You mean Piz from Veronica Mars? But yeah, he's excellent. There's a lot of very good acting on GLOW. Betty Gilpin is a revelation.

Here is its StubHub listing: https://www.stubhub.com/all-in-wrestling-tickets-all-in-wrestling-hoffman-estates-sears-centre-9-1-2018/event/103605205/?sort=price+asc $120 and up at present.

Related to that, Dave has never been known for elucidating the context, subtext, through-line, or drama of a match, or even saying anything very interesting about one. He mostly just says whether (not how) it was good and whether the crowd popped, plus a bunch of PBP. Here's Dave in 1997: And here's Dave in 2016: There are probably hundreds of superior reviewers on the internet nowadays. There have been dozens for decades. People used to understand that you don't read Dave for the reviews.

Yeah, everyone on MSW except Jim Ross was prone to saying DEE-bee-yoss instead of dee-bee-AH-see.

Also from the animation division, King of the Hill S01E22 "Bobby Slam". Bobby tries out for wrestling under the mistaken belief it will be like what he sees on television. When he and best friend Connie must face off for the last spot on the team (Khan: "Take old playmate down hard and fast"), they avoid any hurt feelings by having a worked match with chair shots, airplane spins, etc.

https://twitter.com/Cut4/status/1007027679806144513 Liger throws the first pitch at a Hanshin Tigers game. A match ensues.

Yeah, I only have a handful of friends on the "come hold my day-old newborn" level, and I would be extremely angry and disappointed if they ghosted me because they had a fight with our old boss.

This might be true at the corner diner, or everywhere 30 years ago, but much of America gives an extreme shit about good coffee these days.
