Solid enough match considering the Renegade was having squash matches so bad that they never made air during this time.- 8 replies

Eps. 78 of Prime Time Wrestling has Heenan ask Monsoon "Was JYD wearing a turtle neck or was that his bottom lip?" Within seconds we then go to a "Rebel" Dick Slater match where the stars and bars earn Slater boos in Boston even as the babyface. Later on Mr. Fuji and Little Tokyo do Asian stereotype comedy and midget mocking. Classy all around. Slick does a promo on the Flower shop and Piper shows up and tells Slick he has "lips like a bicycle pedal" The show also has a 30 min Santana/Orton match and Heenan tripping on stage, leaving Monsoon to remark "He almost took a bump!"

They need to hire a bunch of big oafs and have Reigns beat them week after week ala what The Giant and Luger did when WCW had Ron Powers/Rick Fuller/Jerry Flynn/T. Rancula/Roadblock/Ron Studd/Tombstone etc in as JTTS. The whole roster would benefit from having more jabronis to pummel.

[1995-01-21-WCW-Saturday Night] Up Close w/ Brian Pillman
BruiserBrody replied to Loss's topic in January 1995
Going through old WONs, has the cruiserweight title mentioned prior to Starrcade 94, then a "it got pushed back" update up to at least May. They wanted Jerry Estrada, Latin Lover and Otani in it and asked ECW to loan them Malenko, Sabu, and 2 Cold. Bischoff didn't want Eddy. Hogan apparently wanted Koko B Ware.- 12 replies

I called the Hogan hotline in 1991 without permission. All I remember is some goofy "Wrestle the Hulk" challenge. I only rang up a 14 dollar bill, but at the time that was a ton of money for a 9 year old.

This felt like a precursor to every bad Nitro Hogan main event of the first 8 months of the show.

BruiserBrody replied to Loss's topic in September 1994
Its odd reading the WONs for this period as Dave talks for weeks that Flair is planning on retiring in Fall to focus on booking and running his gym, then WCW decides to go with this gimmick and Meltz gets on his soapbox about WCW forcing out a legend who still gets ratings and fan responses.- 9 replies
