The regime has executed at least 110 people since the beginning of the year. Recently there was a wave of women right militant arrest. No stupid pro-wrestling match will distract from anything, really. I wonder what the fake outrage twitter crowd will do during that show. I mean, if you can blast Corny for using the word transvestite, I think it's ok to blast Goldy & Taker for taking huge checks to play a puppets in a criminal regime propaganda show...

Oh, you were talking about 205 Live ! I thought you meant ROH and I didn't blink !
-
Well, yeah, basically all comes down to this. Like I said, I want the four guys I mentioned earlier gone in any other promotion but WWE so I can enjoy their work again. This incident is beyond ridiculous. Makes Velvet look like a bitch (no, a real one I mean), Mandy like a dumb fuck and Bully, well, like himself...
-
Sorry but... Are you joking ? Knowledge about character development ? Drawing money ? Enzo & Cass were an sing-along introduction, that's about as far as "character development" went. They never drew a dime (don't tell me about those great 205 Live ratings while Enzo was put on top of the purgatory no one cares about). They both got fired from WWE and were legit locker room cancer. Both are garbage. There isn't one positive about signing those two useless goofs. Yeah, sure it made people talk. Mostly say how much that sucked and how it was another reason not to care about ROH. Hum... that would have been running MSG with NJ. Of course, that was when Omega & the Bucks were still working ROH.
-
AEW, pretty much. Kylie Ray is gonna be your next favourite worker ever.
-
Remember when some people argued getting Enzo & Cass was the right move ? At this point they incubate jack shit though. Marty Scurll and Flip Gordon I would guess are AEW bound once their contracts are up. They got PCO, Brody King, Bandido & Rush, which would have been great catch for either NXT, iMPACT or MLW (and now AEW), but they are still pushing Matt Taven as the N°1 challenger to... gasp.... Jay White. ROH seems like a thing of a past at this point in term of relevance. Truly hope NJPW drops them and work with AEW eventually.

I have bashed the animatronic entrance for years, but it's funny, Tessa's never struck me that way. Probably because she's got so much charisma and intensity that it simply looks cool as hell when she does her thing. But yeah, animatronic entrances are the worst in general.

WELCOME TO RAW IS...Oh, sorry habit, TALK IS JERRRIIICHO!

The Owen Hart episode with Meltz is indeed excellent. Listened to the Tessa Blanchard interview too, and she comes off like such a cool girl. Interesting take on how her dreams have changed from wanting nothing but WWE to not even being sure she's gonna end up there one day. -
Still a week behind, so I have not seen the tag match yet. The Swann match was indeed excellent (Swann has truly blossomed in iMPACT/MLW), but Elgin is always capable of having really good matches because he's a good mechanic who can do a lot of stuff. The issue I have is his deliberate style and total lack of personality. He works the exact same way he did in Japan, with that "look at me I'm doing shit" kinda attitude. And he's not been better as a character on promo, with his whiny little voice and boring promos about putting people in the hospital. He's as compelling as a vacuum cleaner, so the main event scene is hurt (not like Brian Cage was that much better, but he had this goofy freaky kind of intensity, and he's more fun in the ring too). Taya has been killing it as a heel, really solid match with Madison last week. Curious to see her against Rosemary, who's someone I'm not really big on as far as in-ring work goes, her matches have always left me kinda flat. Yeah, Eddie is excellent, can't wait to see the Kross match, now that's one guy who should be pushed into the main event scene soon. The clear MVP for me though is Callihan, and damn, his match was Fallah Bah (who's in much better shape than before) was yet another proof of that. Enjoying the Bah/Bordeaux duo too. Gilberti doing a Lawler/Kaufman gimmick works for me, he's really good at it too. Tessa mentioned in the Jericho podcast (really cool interview BTW) that she really likes doing intergender matches too. It's a nice way to keep her occupied doing something different, as their women roster in not that deep. The ECW nostalgia stuff is both cool and a bit sad, because 20 years is a long time. RVD still is a freak though.

And people like me who love both got both. How better than this can you get ?
-
Oh, this is a broad issue for sure. Still, there is an issue with how social networks work and what they do to people's mind. There's also something linked with how über-capitalism is pushing "personal branding" and tries (successfully, which is god-awful) to Uber-size the entire society. Me, "I'd rather not". Back to topic, hopefully the promotion doesn't introduce a hundred belts. That's something that is annoying even in the best environment like NJ, where they have way too many titles. World Title. World Women's Title. Tag Title. A Secondary single men's belt. That's it.

The bzzz in WWE is all for the NXT Blood Money show next week. I did not even realize there was a Takeover. Yeah, not watching this, Double or Nothing has pretty much burned me for the time being as far as big show goes. Waiting for the next AEW show and Slammiversary (despite Elgin). Plus really, Gargano vs Cole again, yeah, they better use shotguns or something.

I found the above post to be really interesting and the reason why old boards > Twitter (150 words, you can't say shit). Can't agree with the last sentence more. (I find all this verbiage to be silly as fuck BTW. It's like people absolutely want put themselves in little boxes, like society didn't do that already. There's absolutely a form of narcissism going on today with the focus on "identity", whatever it may be (sexual preference, gender, religion, color of skin, etc.), which goes along the rise of social networks which make people desperate for validation. The "look at me and tell me I'm great" generation.)
-
Yeah, that part is odd. Wasn't he on an indy goodbye tour after he got his release from LU ? He's actually a really good worker, and although I for one am not bothered one bit by the dick spot, I agree at this point he could just be an effective worker without that prop spot.

Just looked over for a few seconds on Twitter. Joey Ryan talking about "hate speech" is ridiculous. It makes actual hate speech seem like a trivial issue. Even Sonny Kiss referring to this as an "attack" (to his credit, under quotation marks, so he's not going all the way) seems like going a bit overboard. Like a French comedian said in her show, a lot of people now have the emotional maturity of a 6 months old. Corny should know better. And as far as Ryan goes, honestly, from a guy who worked (or still does) with such a despicable company as Pornhub, he should maybe not play the moral soldier, really.Yeah, kinda disappointed by all people involved here (expect Sonny, who obviously didn't ask to be called a transvestite).
-
How the tool is conceived is driving how it is being used though.
-
Ok, I have to be honest here. I enjoy both guy, but Ryan talking about "homophobic rant" and inciting people to tag MLW and basically make a fuss and try have Cornette get fired or something (because that's what you do these day as a true SJW) is weak sauce. Poor choice of word notwithstanding, taking about "homophobic rant" in this case is stupid. Except these aren't place for actual discussions because of how they work. Social media have a distinct terrible impact on people (Hell, it's already a proven fact social media have had a terrible impact on political issues and democracy as a whole already). Everytime I check Wrestling Twitter, I'm appalled.
-
I've watched pro-wrestling for almost 30 years. I spend more time in my life than most men watching muscled up guys in underwears rubbing against each other pretending to fight. Homophobia in pro-wresting is a fucking hilarious thing when you think about it.
-
Considering my stance on the thing, you should no I have zero awareness of "Wrestling Twitter", nor do I care about it. If american pro-wrestling fans in 2019 can't get behind a guy like Sonny Kiss, fuck them seven ways to Sunday. It would mean they are the dumbest pro-wrestling fans in the world. Joey Ryan going after Corny is kinda funny, though, considering how much Corny has shit on Joey for years now.
-
To be fair, I remember political rants by Cornette years ago where he would go off on Republicans because they were (amongst other things) against same-sex mariage, so I do think there's a disconnect between what terminology Corny used and his actual feeling on the matter. Corny may be a lot of things, but a bigot I don't think so.
-
NXT was easy business. Sign hot indy talent. Push them against each others in dream matches context. Reeks in the glory of the otherwise despised "Smart fans". What has NXT *produced* out of the blue, say like the NJ dojo ? In the last few years, NXT has been a recycling bin for already experienced good to great workers. HHH as this great booker and savior of WWE once Vince dies is a completely flawed narrative. If you consider the insane potential of the amount of talent they have signed, and what they actually do with them, it's not pretty. Hey, remember when Ricochet looked special in Lucha Underground...
-
If some people are turned off by Sonny Kiss, then I'd think AEW don't want them as their fanbase. The true challenge is getting a younger, more diverse audience, not the old lapsed fans.
-
It was. She's been presenting sensory inclusive room on Road to Double or Nothing. Yeah, to me Sonny Kiss is exactly the guy you want to grab a younger (and non-bigotted) audience. He got over instantly in LU and was a lot of fun there. He can work the flashy underdog character and be a star at it.
-
I wonder if he ever got proposition from any company. He sure seems like a guy that could be an asset.
-
As much as I enjoy Corny as a historian, storyteller and announcer on MLW, I agree. It's sad he can't come to grips with reality. Yeah, he's still pissed at the Bucks because them superkicking that kid and at Omega for working that match with that girl. Speaking of which : Wow, that would be awesome. But anyway, I would not expect much better from Corny at this point, which is pretty disappointing.
