In other news, did Vince also wrote this last season of Game of Thrones ? -

That was a joke. And a good one too I thought. Don't remember that ugly ass Sarah tattoo around his neck ? (I'm glad I never tattooed the names of my loved ones anywhere. How dumb would I look now. How to explain that to the next one ? Damn...) -

Erasing an ugly tattoo can't be THAT expensive. -

Wow. These guys who won shitload of money all their lives and "need the money" at 50 ? Fuck their rich and famous life. I'm allright being where I am, nowhere socially, that is. -

Straight from the naughties. But yeah, guys like Taker and Goldie who don't really need the money. That's a shitty thing to do, honestly. -
The WWE trolling on the first two minutes of BTE this week is really, really funny. Best Friends getting some cool tag team action looks good on paper. A six women joshi match with Aja kong and Emi Sakura (damn, that girl is still around ?), way cool.

So. The biggest "dream" nostalgia matches you'd see at Mania are now done to appeal to a guy who ordered the murder and dismemberement of a journalist. Ok. -
Yeah, I for one am glad. Loved his work in iMPACT last year. Hey, make a Low-ki vs Aries feud about who's the King of the Indie Dicks. The match could be awesome.

Just watched it a few weeks ago. It was a terrific match. The Montreal redux was on the next Impact. Because you have to give your main event re-match right away on TV of course. And make it stupid. Not overly familiar with Ken Kennedy (I knew of him obviously, but his days in WWE really were are part of my biggest blind spot). Damn, you weren't lying about him being a Rock cosplay act. The intro stuff is cute, but I can see it getting old really REALLY quick. Also, thus far, he doesn't strike me as very good at all. He also has the most stereotypical 00's WWE style : big guy, short hair, tribal tatoo, dull in the ring. Crazy to think TNA had the Young Bucks at this time. TNA really is the biggest pond of missed opportunities ever.

Listened to the two first episode. I'm gonna admit, I enjoyed it quite a bit. So there, I was not very excited by the prospect, but JR comes off a lot better than I imagined. Also, he really makes Brucie & Eric look like two con-men gimmicks the way he refers to Meltz as a "journalist" and pretty much says he was reading the Observer, like a lot of people did as far as back in the 80's. He comes off a lot more matter-of-a-facty. I enjoy him chuckling at some of the bullshit too. Refreshing listen thus far.

Loved Silver King both in random WCW matches and in old IWA Japan tapes, when he teamed with El Texano. He was a terrific pro-wrestler. This is just awful. And yes, Steve, so sorry, this has to be a terrible feeling.

What an awful news. So young.

FWIW, Lady Victoria said that everyone in the building knew it was Moolah. Body shape, way of moving around. Come on now.
-
Saw the Moolah one. Yeah, she comes off like a complete dirtbag. But the documentary is odd, as there's some kind of bizarre tentative of wrapping things up on a more "positive" way, with even Princess Victoria saying you can't call her a pimp, despite telling a story earlier of Moolah basically pimping her (and painting a very dark picture of Moolah overall, with manipulative behaviour, throwing her away after she broke her neck and whatnot). The Sweet Georgia Brown story is fascinating, she would probably deserve more time. No idea who's the goofball doing the "Fight for Moolah" stuff, but he looks like a complete idiot. Also, Richter saying she didn't know Spider Lady was Moolah came off carny as hell. Yeah, Sting didn't know the Black Scorpion was Ric Flair either I'm sure⦠Interesting stuff, but way too much bullshit and odd choices of interviews (the daughter has nothing to say, the goofball is useless).

These are not the same geeks. Those are mainstream geeks that are now the focus of the entertainment industry. We are not a blip on the radar. Then again, Avengers are not a blip on my radar, I couldn't mention one name of a character from this shit, while I can assure you Bobby Eaton & Steve Keirn did team some time on WCW B-shows in 94...
-
Let's be real now, apart from a few geeks on internet boards and some historians, nobody gives a flying fuck about this match, really.
-
Oh, you don't think that's some kind of coincidence ? It's not like Starrcast needs any more draw at this point anyway, but yeah. More and more pettiness. It's kinda funny how small and insecure these people are.

I call anyone coming from the WWE machine into TNA at this point a WWE reject. Not as "rejected by the WWE" but as "a product of them". And again, considering how fucked up Jeff Hardy would soon become, I don't see how TNA could have done anything with him anyway.

Out of sheer morbid curiosity, I checked the first few weeks of Hogan's debut in 2010. It's amazingly awful. By week three, we already got an lame nWo reunion, WWE rejects Jeff Hardy & Ken Anderson showing up, WWE hasbeen Sean Morley re-doing the Val Venis to utter silence and disdain from the Impact Zone crowd, Bubba the fucking Love Sponge (wonder where his wife was), the Nasty Boys in some sort of meta-joke, old-ass Ric Flair soon ruining AJ Styles perfectly fine title stint, and a FUCKING MONTREAL RE-ENACTMENT, complete with Angle spitting on Hogan. Who the fuck thought this was not a disaster already ? It's amazing, like Russo was all of a sudden motivated again to be at its dirt worst (although 2009 was also mostly horrible in term of booking anyway), like he thought this was a good time for WCW 2000 redux again, because it worked so well the first time around. Amazing. And plugs for Dixie Carter's Twitter all the time, because that's important. Yeah, the company was doomed the day they signed Hogan & Bischoff apparently, the drop of quality from the last months of 2009, which got quite decent from nowhere, is insane. We're clearly in the "so bad it's almost fun" level.

Amazing. They are not a wrestling company, they are an entertainment company. Except when someone actually has credentials in the legit entertainment world, then they are a wrestling company again. Except if you show you're a pro-wrestling fan, then they're an entertainment company... -

Oh, ok, I did misunderstood you. But yeah, we agree it's a matter of booking and presenting things, leading to a general sense of complete dullness. -

I hear that all the time about WWE, and I don't see it. Baron Corbin has been pushed forever. Brock Lesnar was on top forever. They have been pushing Alexa Bliss (whom I really liked, but she wasn't having "great matches", even by WWE standards), they are now pushing Lacey Evans. Roman Reigns was never about having much in term of great matches either. Braun : not about great matches. And the fucking IIconics. Yeah, some great workers are having great matches. It's a good thing workers like Daniel Bryan or Charlotte Flair are pushed hard. This is not the issue. The issue is the booking, the writing and the presentation. The in-ring style of today is what it is, and honestly WWE still is far from the place you're gonna get most of the really *great* matches, because of the limitations put on the workers (and also, apart from Bryan, most of the best top workers today just aren't in the company and that's that, it seems like AJ, as good as he is, is definitely past his prime). Meanwhile, on NXT, you are getting some great matches but also some typically overproduced WWE self-conscious epics (see : the Gargano vs Ciampa feud, which did resonnate with the crowd big time though). But again, the in-ring style overall is not the issue at all. -
Well yes, she was married to Chris Adams at the time, who was Gino's tag team partner. Care to elaborate a bit about Austin (although that's off topic, and I would guess maybe she had some of the same experience as Debra, to whom she ressembles a lot btw) ? Meltz mentioned in the latest WOR that Gino was pretty much so-so in the ring (can't speak for the earlier stuff, but I wasn't very impressed from what I've seen from World Class indeed), and that the Crocketts had no interest in him.
-
How much will they invest in the re-elaction campaign too BTW ? Yeah, that shit is crazy.
