  1. Listening to the episode about Owen's death. Needless to say, it's not an easy listen, especially if you've lived the thing back then (I can remember JR's eerie announcements and Lawler looking like a ghost like it was yesterday), but it's pretty fascinating. Apparently, it's possible that Owen, as he was falling down, shouted to the people on the floor to move out of the way... Wow.
  2. Well, I must say Pagano vs Chessman from 05.19 is fun for various reasons. Pagano is not good at much apart from taking punishement, but Chessman holds this together for a while. He looks like a creep and acts like a douche, he also bleeds all over the place, so there's that. And you get classic AAA shitty camera work, with an amazing close up on Pagano holding his blade, and a wonderful miss of the biggest spot of the match, which Chessman basically shakes off anyway.
  3. The latest AAA big shows have been pretty damn BAD. I feel this is the promotion that gets the least of of its talented workers, having them work constantly clusterfucky garbage matches or directionless spotfests. Enjoying the whole Lady Maravilla / Nino Hamburgesa saga in the undercard though, with usually fun tag matches. Killer Kross working gringo heel monster is quite cool too. But man, too many clows and too many people in anti-riot jackets (hates those).
  4. Okada vs Omega trilogy blows away Steamboat vs Flair seven ways to Sunday in my book. There's both a generational and perspective gap. The first is people living in the past, because it's comforting. The second is people giving way too much credit to the all-mighty "canon", because, well, it's comforting too. I for one have made the switch sometime somewhere when I was watching Lucha Underground. Funny to re-read some of the early stuff I wrote about it (just like the stuff I wrote first time I saw Omega or the Young Bucks, and even Will Ospreay). I totally changed my perspective and embraced what is happening now (and that I like, of course, tons of stuff happening now I don't care about, put WWE or ROH in this bag for instance). Anway, Omega helping packed some of the biggest house in Japan in the last few years certainly sounds better than Steamboat working great matches in half empty buildings in dying Crockett and money bleeding WCW. Not that I care about it one way or another, honestly. I have loved Steamboat's work, love Omega's now...
  5. I have absolutely zero issue with the idea of Omega > Steamboat, at the very least as far as peak goes. It also totally makes sense from Meltz perspective if you consider his ratings (agree or disagree with him). Also, now I can picture real life Bayley as Krusty the Clown, and it's pretty funny.
  6. Hey, maybe Bayley is a total bitch IRL, who the fuck knows or cares, really. This Twitter drama (like every Twiter drama) is ridiculous.
  7. Yeah, sure, some stuff from 2016... Twitter people are the worst.
  8. Have you even seen the clip ? He didn't *take a shot* at anyone. Kyla Rae has been compared as a character to Bailey a lot, so he's just making a joke in passing because that's how it is. Shits and giggles. Yeah, people are oversensitive as shit when you have to always put smileys everywhere and explain that a joke is a joke because there's always the possibility that someone might get #offended.
  9. That's why I can't stand this social media society. It's nothing, it's a joke in passing about wacky inflatable tubemen, and people are acting all offended and shit like it meant anything. For fuck's sake. The oversensitivity of people has become totally insane. Makes you want to troll like a pig, really.
  10. Have Corbin work that last part of the cage match and then the Mania main event, I don't think Kofi gets the reaction he did. Sure, Kofi deserves tons of credit for getting over. But it's hard to ask people to see him as a legit main eventer past the context of the great Mania match after a decade of being a goof.
  11. So we have : Young Bucks superkicking David Arquette. Then a Johnny Mundo/iMPACT cameo. MJF being awesome as always at being a prick. Tony Schiavone doing a voice over. How wrong can this go ?
  12. I dunno. Kofi was an mid-card tag team comedy act and a yearly gimmick performer at the Royal Rumble for ever. He stumbled into a great spot because Ali got hurt, got over like crazy thanks to Daniel Bryan in the cage, then Bryan worked his magic again at Mania. Kofi is not exactly a great worker himself. It's like back in 2000 if Grandmasta Sexay of all of sudden worked a program against The Rock and won the title. Once the great moment is done, he's still Grandmasta Sexay.
  13. Finally watched the Salina edition episode. Yeah, fun stuff. LA Park's got some much explosiveness for a overweight 50 year old guy. That plancha between the ropes and the post was sick. Plus, Mance got out of a box. Damn, Corny, you can't help yourself !
  14. So apparently it's because some of his tatoos with religious overtones might be offensive over there. Imagine that, these people being triggered by tatoos... Gotta love WWE making their show a safe space for wahabite biggots. No women, no gay flag, no Sami Zayn... How precious.
  15. I guess. Yep, no shit. Meltz is apparently going hard on the fact they throw her basically with no training which is why she got injured as much as she did, which could also have led to substance abuse and depression (not to mention the Kuwait "incident" that might have happened). Agreed. He's got them by the balls. He'll get everything he ever wants from them. The more we know about this, the more it seems like this is a really, really fucked up situation. Obstetric violence is a thing, so... Yeah, not good at all.
  16. Interesting bit from Meltz in the latest WOR, coming from talking to McDevitt, Maria apparently is saying she "doesn't remember". Which is one odd take on this thing. I mean, either it's not true, either you probably remember your co-worker/friend telling you she just got raped. It's sad the fact a bad lawyer writing a shitty lawsuit will make this a non-issue. Either case, what a tragic story.
  17. WWE : we are saddened about this girl who didn't work for us anymore's death but BOUHHHHHH WE DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT ANY DRUG RAPE PEOPLE ARE MEAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN TO US WE'RE GOOD GUYS AND HUMANITARIANS !!!!! Stay tuned : next : a progaganda show for the Saudi Regime. They have a knack for painting themselves as victims, haven't they ?
  18. Well, he sure could be their Lex Luger for their big debut on TNT.
  19. Happened in the Slamboree 99 episode too, with a long ass rant about "dirt-sheets" in general. His new thing is that "dirt-sheets" have actually damaged pro-wrestling... I got a kick out of him loving Charles Robinson vs Gorgeous George though. Terrific bullshit match indeed.
  20. Who are you to doubt Glacier ?
  21. I wonder if AEW being around doesn't shake things a bit too. I mean, it seems like the whole "be afraid of being fired" attitude is less and less of a thing. And WWE won't fire anyone over not wanting to go to Saudi Arabia anyway, especially now. Ah ah, well done.
  22. Well, let's see (not for ourselves, because I ain't watching this) if there is gonna be any propaganda (I mean pro-active, the mere fact they are doing the shows are propaganda) on the next show, because it's basically why the Saudis bought those shows to begin with. I'd be surprised if it doesn't return in one form or another. Maybe it's too close from last fall debacle still, but... Good for Bryan & Owens. Hey people, if Kevin Owens can refuse to go, many others could have too.
  23. Well, not believing women who say that have been raped because "some details don't add up" is actually what happens most of the time anyway... Well, that girl ended up killing herself and the WWE was über quick to publish extracts from some e-mails to absolves themselves before anyone asked any questions. So there, it's an awful story no matter what.
  24. Considering military culture, I can totally see how that stuff could happen without anyone saying jackshit. Sexual abuse and the covering of it is totally part of the military culture. The fact a 39 years old women with a daughter just hung herself maybe because she got raped by military pigs while working for WWE and got told by WWE executive to slide that "bad experience" under the rug. The long-term consequences of rape are totally undersold.
  25. Because a girl who says she's been raped by military under a WWE tour and that Vince told her to basically not talk about that "bad experience" is not interesting to people, I guess. The fact WWE jumped the gun while her body was still warm by publishing post-failed lawsuit e-mails to basically say "Hey, look, she loved us, she surely didn't kill herself because of depression linked to those bogus incident stories." makes the whole thing a new level of disgusting. Hey, look, a new title !
