Heyman's promo was pure gold though. That was money, as they said in the gold old days. But yeah, the booking of Daniel Bryan is just pathetic at this point. But I guess mission accomplished, since he's not nearly as over as he used to be (yet still more over than about anyone else in the company at this point).

I appreciate the fact WWE is thinking about their deaf audience by having everyone pointing to the Wrestlemania sign. Thanks for making sure everyone gets the obvious. I enjoyed the Rusev Cena segment the most, although it really gets into jingoist territory now, with the gold ol' "don't talk shit 'bout 'merica !". But yeah, Lana and Rusev are the only ones that are booked exactly like they should. Did I just see Tony Schiavone on WWE TV ? That Sting video was actually quite good. Thank God, Randy Orton is still as boring as ever, and the booking doesn't do him any favour either. And please, just get Stephy, HHH, Kane and Big Show out of there now. Please. Let's see, I guess the two matches I can enjoy for WM are Cena vs Rusev II and probably the tag team title match (maybe turning into a 6 men/women ?). The rest of the card… Wait, what is Daniel Bryan supposed to do anyway at this point ? I feel like I'm back watching WCW in 99, really.

He's a heel. Heels talk bollocks. Are you new to wrestling? Are you new to HHH ?
-
Well, I take it as a compliment. I'm not too sure what it says about me though.

He put WCW ouf of business. Yes, he really did.

Pretty awful show in term of crowd heat, commentary (totally abysmal, is Lawler still getting paid ?), finishes (except Rusev vs Cena), and overall direction of the company. Opener was blah, Kane & Big Show working the leg of Eric Rowan. Feel the excitement. Randy Orton coming back. Fuuuuuuck. Rhodes vs Rhodes was just plain bad. Dusty sounds and acts like a robot. Cody sucks, ok, he's never been over, he's never been a good worker, he never had a character that worked. Let's put an end to this. Dustin should be working serious stuff higher on the card, but I guess "he's too old". The tag team match was pretty good, and the right guys won at least. The whole Sting vs HHH stuff was not only ridiculous (WWF vs WCW, in 2015, yeah, that totally works), delusionnal (so, HHH put WCW out of business now, this guy is just a riot) but also extremely boring, rehashed (the baseball bat deal got tired in 98 or so) and will only lead to a terrible "dream" match. The less said about the Bray Wyatt stuff the better. Will also lead to awful segments and a bad match at Mania. Ok, what was there ? Paige vs Bella, which was ok for what it was I guess. The IC title match… ok, remember when Dean Ambrose was the most over of the post-breakup Shield ? Ok, no one was over tonight expect Daniel Bryan, but still. Poor guy. Ok, Cena vs Rusev was a decent to good match, with exactly the right finish. Valet comes in, balls shot, submission. Classic, perfect, and Cena did a great job in the post-match too. Of course, I guess he simply gets his win back at Mania now, but still, at least on this night, this was the right finish. Bryan vs Reigns was pretty good as a bombfest, like it's been said, but Reigns is so not the ace of the company. Of course he looked the best he ever did in single match thus far. Who wouldn't against Bryan ? But to me, he's Diesel facing Bret Hart, 20 years later. Mania looks like really bad at this point.

First NXT show for me too. Enjoyed the opener quite a bit, Balor/Neville was good for what they were aiming at, but not exactly my taste, the women 4 way was suprisingly good and Owens vs Zayn is probably a MOTYC at this point. Loved the way they built it with the video and the entrances with silence from the announcers. Liked how they slowly built to the big offense at the end, and loved the finish, although the way the doctors took care of Zayn was indeed kinda goofy (hey, wasn't the guy Punk was bashing one of those two anyway ?). I'm totally gonna watch more of this show. (That Russo quote is a riot BTW. Poor guy, he still doesn't understand shit at pro-wrestling.)

Cool little episode, definitely angle driven, nothing special in term of matches. A little bit too much intergender violence for ma taste, although the Angelico vs Yvelisse match was as good as you can get from this kind of situation where the guy just doesn't want to hit the woman. Interested in a Mil Muertes vs Fenix feud. I loved the fact we got a whole interview segment in Spanish with English subtitles. That's relevant. WWE should take notes again. The six-man was nothing special though, and I'm not sure I feel good watching three guys beating a woman. I can't wait for the gang getting beat up by Big Ryck though, should be a fun little brawl.

On average, I take Schiavone 96/97 over JR Attitude Era years any day.
-
Agreed. The vignettes with Dario, Mil Muertes & Catrina and Big Ryck were terrific. As was Alberto's promo. How better and bigger of a star does he look in that context than Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan do in theirs ? There's a lot WWE could learn here in term of production.
-
Last week's show was pretty fun again with more Dario backstage, and El Patron's first appearance. That being said, Mundo vs Cage was just a bad video-game like main event. I wouldn't mind if these two would just go away, I don't care for their work nor their characters.

That, in the middle of a total meta/babyface promo, was amazing. Fear the epic trolling on Raw. It's sad that at this point, trolling audiences has became the new way of getting "heel heat".
-
So, this year's Mania is not Wrestlemania 31. It's just Wrestlemania. No numbers anymore. Blah.

I echo the love for the 3/4 of this week's episode. I enjoyed Muertes vs Fenix a lot, witha classic upset finish. Cage's vignette was terrific, despite the guy having zero charisma. That's how well produced this is. The six-man reminded me of those old M-Pro matches, tons of fun indeed. The interview segment was great and again blows away anything from WWE in term of production, delivery, pace and efficiency. The Puma vs Cage match was decent, but not really that much of a change of pace from the Fenix match if you think about it. Fenix does acrobatic highspots, Cage does power-move highspots, but it was still a spot match. And Cage really does nothing for me, he's got no personnality at all, and the High Voltage look gets no point from me. Yep, the ending was excellent, but I don't look forward to more Cage big match. He does have an indie-riffic style. Give me Big Ryck and Mil Muertes instead. The ending was a nice cliffhanger too. Glad to see more Dario Cueto again !

After ten years of Cena on top, things have changed. The WWE now is a totally different beast than what it was in the 90's and before. It's a corporate monster. And they have an idea of what The Man should be that goes way beyond the in-ring product. With Cena, they have established their idea of what The Man should be, and it's not a good one (cheesy, corny, imposible to turn heel, devaluating every loss). And to replace Cena, they want another Cena. It's very clear that's what they want to do with Reigns thus far, with those awful promos he's been given. It's not a matter of who gets over anymore, at all, and it will only get worse with the Network. There's nothing organic at all in the way this company works at this point. (Back in the days of Austin, it's important to remember they totally lucked out with him. It was no Vince brillant masterplan and creation. At some point they realized what was happening and pulled the trigger at the right time and the right way. But they had WCW killing them in the ratings, it was a matter of reacting immediately or they would have been kicked in the dust. But it took quite a bit of time and the right circumstances to produce Austin, namely the Shawn Michaels debacle at WM13 which put Austin with Bret with the legendary mach and double-turn)

Well, he *was* supposed to work with Kane after winning the title at Mania last year. Ponder that for a minute...
-
He's booked in a casket match against Kane. Nuff said.
-
If you want a communist heel in 2015, you need a Korean pretending he's from North Korea. Certainly not a fake Russian.

"What are they gonna do now ? Improvise ?" http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/19237-wcws-highway-to-hell/?p=5561658

And then turn into a comedy midcard act. The WWE career arc. Rusev should not lose until he gets the World title, then have a hot fresh babyface defeat him. He should be this decade's Yoko (up until 96).

Only 9.99. Or, you can get our booking fuck-ups for FREE on RAW.

Especially with HHH of all people. What's hilarious is that apparently, they expected the backlash, only not that huge. Fuck, if you book something expecting a backlash, DON'T FUCKING BOOK IT !!

After last night's disaster, it's actually probably for the better. It will gave them one week to think about how dumb they are. Well, scratch that, they had one year and still didn't get the idea.
