*chuckle* I feel your pain. (and I really like Mempis wrestling. I mean, I actually would take Memphis wrestling over Mid-South or WCCW. But maybe that's simply because of Lance Russel. I felt that way for years and years. And then, it slowly came back, although not nearly like it was before, but I aged also, which plays a part. Some stuff in the WWE (Daniel Bryan, Rusev & Lana, Brock), Lucha Underground, the current NJ craze, I finally was able to watch and enjoy some current stuff again.

The spear. Stop doing it. Everyone. It was cool when Goldy was doing it 17 years ago. I was 22 years old. I'm 39. This spot had sucked since. From Edge to all the others, you all basically suck at it. Especially when you're rolling out of it. Stop doing the spear. It's awful.

Interesting, I could agree with pretty much everything there (except I don't watch NXT TV, and I think Trish was actually okay for WWF style, but just okay) About the Young Bucks, I have no idea either. So much about them is downright awful : the Hardy Boys circa 96 look, the suck-it DX gimmick in 2015, the gazillion superkicks. Brutal. Either too indie, too meta or a combination of both.

Reality Era ? Oh fuck me... Good luck people.

Nice, the "biggest Mania ever "built around HHH and Stephy. So promising.

Some interesting threads have already been bumped into the second page (where they'll be forgotten) because of useless threads like the AJ Lee one (or the Rusev one which is basically a pissing contest). Blah.
-
And quite frankly, I was thinking this is exactly why the Current WWE thread was perfectly fine. The board doesn't need a hundred treads like this one. Oh, anyway...

Totally rushed, in every sense of the word. No heat. You get the fake Razor and Diesel in the picture too, which reminds everyone that the product sucks. Shawn has lost a lot of momentum. Vader looks like he's just another guy already. Austin is not yet over like he could (they really didn't take advantage on the 3.16 tuff yet, which sounds insane retrospectively). It's obvious they were going toward the Sid choice, which has always worked in the past, uh ?

As a way to introduce and push back the Road Dog, why not, really. But they should have gone away from talking about Jarrett as quickly as possible instead of trying to bury him while reminding everyone that all the bigger stars were on the other channel. Plus, giving Armstrong that stupid Jesse Jammes name (with two "m" which looked odd and ridiculous, but I guess it was all about being the Real Double J with a double s and a double m) and the old Jarrett song to sing on his way to the ring was a recipe for failure. It's too bad because Road Dog comes off rather charismatic during the interview. It's also, I guess, the only Jim Johnston appearance on WWF TV.

They really did an excellent job with these creepy vignettes building to Buried Alive. Short and to the point too.

The title has been dead for more than 15 years. It would be a miracle if they did.

Terrific story. (charity is *always* self-interested at heart, even though it can do good things on a small scale)

Came back in late 95 and had a match with Ahmed at the Royal Rumble. But let's pretend it didn't happen.

Back when 41 was old by WWF standarts. Jake does look old though, but this match is pretty good actually, one of the best TV match Jake had since his comeback. Mankind's video was all kind of creepy. I was never a fan of the buried alive stip though, always seemed way too gimmicky.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing when you think about it. Fake Razor Ramon, Fake Diesel and the "Real" Double J, all in the same week. WWF was and came off sooo desperate.

The match is no better than decent. Mero's shooting star press never looked that good, it always seemed he just banged his knees on the mat and barely touched his opponent. A few of his athletic spots looked like that, just athletic stuff that didn't translated well into actual pro-wrestling spots. Not a big fan of Simmons in single, although he had his moments. Pushing Mero was the right move though, and you get the feeling the were aiming at a new Savage/Liz glamour couple. Sunny vs Sable catfight gets more heat than the entire match which kinda foreshadows what would happen in a few years.

Too much a hassle to read all individual threads about goofy questions. I'll miss the megathread.

Youshoot with "Miroslav of WWE fame" in 10 months.

I got back into watching more WWE TV than I ever did in 15 years since last year's Mania. I've done the one year round trip. I'm tuning out. I can get back whenever Brock shows up, because he's the only reason to watch this poor excuse of a promotion. The mere fact Stephy will be all over the TV is enough for me to tune out. She's awful. She's a poor performer most of the time (the contrast between her and Paul during the opening segment was amazing) and her character is the worst of the worst at this point. Yeah, don't show ANY fear for either Sting, Ronda or Brock, why the hell not ? (am I the only one who thinks she looks more and more like Chyna too ?) I did enjoy Cena vs Ambrose, and still think Cena would be an awesome heel. But we know this won't happen. Despite the fact he's being phased down. Rusev is already "just another guy" without Lana. That's sad. Neville. Because first name are evil. I have no idea what he can do in that main roster setting. That main event. Big Show, Kane… And Randy Orton of course. Same old shit. Poor Roman Reigns. No one looks like a star at this point, no one. Except Brock. Who's gone, thanks to his sweet-ass contract (and good for him). This was easily the flattest, most unremarkable post-Mania RAW in years, and that despite a big time angle with Brock which ended up being kinda ruined by Stephy's shreeking.
-
Totally agree. That's why I said I thought it was a great spectacle, but not a great match by any means. Reigns just got up of so many bombs that at some point it kinda made Lesnar's offense look kinda, you know, weak, actually. Either that, or it made Reigns look like a Terminator (and you know that's Triple H's gimmick now).
-
Come on, it was hilarious. Well, I get that's probably not what they were aiming at, but… Totally priceless and useless at the same time, in the end it's still HHH dropping shitty kneedrops and playing along with a sledgehammer.
-
Well, Meltz actually says that this was maybe the best WrestleMania of all time…
-
At this point, I probably won't. No, you're the one who don't understand what I mean actually. I don't give a shit mostly because I just witnessed another boring drawn out Authority angle with the idea that WM next year will be built around HHH and Stephy (who's not afraid of the big bad MMA fighter). That's why I don't give a shit. When I say I don't know who she is, I really mean I don't care about MMA so I never actually even saw her face. But I'm well aware she's a huge star. That doesn't mean she's automatically interesting to me, and really the whole segment didn't do shit to get me interested. I guess Stephy has a lot to do with that. Hum… actually, yes, I do.
