  1. Test
  2. Charlotte is Horsemen Country no more apparently.
  3. Yep, this is the best TV match these two had thus far. Savage's selling and bumping was terrific here and really made Flair look great. The ending looks like a clusterfuck though, someone missed his cue. And of course, the Bootybooty Man, yet another embarrassing Hogan brainfart to give his bags handler some undeserved TV time. A mix between the old Beefcake and the Ultimate Warrior actually.
  4. What a stupid match. Hogan takes 95% of the offense, most of it consisting on heeling it up on Arn despite already getting no babyface reaction. And he sells Arn's stuff for a good 10 seconds before hulking up. Heenan is great as pointing out everything bad about Hogan here. This is no way a real job, it's a joke, and Hogan makes sure it's even more a joke by coming back immediately after the lethal "high heel to the eye" spot, performed on an already injured eye mind you, that had him cry in pain for several minutes a few weeks before. Hogan sucks. In his 96 Timeline, Sullivan says those two jobs were Hogan's call because he was getting so much heat in the back and the constant pressure from Flair to do jobs. Hogan thought by doing "clean jobs" to Flair & his best friend back to back he would get some heat off his back.
  5. There's a reason why Liz was pretty much never given the mic. Otherwise, what I said two years ago.
  6. I really needed to laugh at this time, believe me, so thanks a whole lot for this.
  7. The Warrior stint in WCW in 98 is some of the worst eye gouging TV I've seen. And I have seen a lot.
  8. So is it the day when all of a sudden the Ultimate Warrior is great and all because he goes into the HoF ? Keep me posted.
  9. Better than I remembered. But damn, Buffer fucking up Flair's intro, the ref being inept at closing the door and making a superman comeback, the bell sounding at the wrong time, the wide shots and cut away from the blood and the ass, what a production disaster. Enjoyed the match more than I ever did though, Savage's selling was excellent, Flair brought back tons of fun spots, the best being falling crotch first on the top rope while showing ass (litteraly). The woman shoe is officialy the most lethal foreign object ever, it beat the MegaPowers. Liz's turn was a really nice twist that freshened the scene and gave Flair his last great stint as a character.
  10. Really, this "genius angle" was pointless in the grand scheme of things. The "bookerman" comment got totally over the head of the audience, got no heat and really was Pillman jerking off to work the guys in the back. I guess it worked since he got his release and showed up in ECW a few days later. The most insignificant "historical" moment of those storied years. Of course, Russo, who's an idiot, thought it was revolutionnary despite the fact it led to nothing and didn't draw a dime.
  11. I enjoyed this match better than the one on Nitro because Savage showed more intensity at first, although he still mainly sold before trying to come back with the big elbow. The old-school Horsemen beatdown, 3 on 1 in a TV studio, was really cool.
  12. Excellent Flair promo, he seems rejuvenated by this Savage feud. Woman looks better than she did in 1990 too.
  13. This is my issue with Savage as a babyface at this point of his career, he would often sell 90% of the match and come back with two moves to win (or in this case, before the match would be thrown out). So yeah, it's surprising to see Benoit beat him down so much, but to me it doesn't make a very compelling match at all. The Woman stuff just made no sense to me, there was no reason explained why she was with Savage & Hogan to begin with, and she's always been a heel, so the turn was to be expected anyway. That bitchy Liz doesn't warn Hogan about Flair jumping on his back, which is great. Gotta love Okerlund trying to defend her when Savage is asking about the incident. Come on Gene, it was obvious Liz didn't even tried, you're so trying to get on her good side here.
  14. I love the continuity from the 92 WWF angle. Made pro-wrestling more like an organic world.
  15. Yep, nice TV match indeed. Luger worked a much better match here than Flair would later in the year.
  16. Yeah, I agree the WWF style really hurt the perception that Kurt was a killing suplex machine to me. Hell, Taz was much better in the role in ECW.
  17. The Gold Medal. And really, Angle's suplexes never looked that impressive to me compared to the Steiners throwing people around. Angle was at his best when he was a half-comedic clueless putz in 2000/01 to me.
  18. Thanks. I was wondering why I couldn't reply to a PM.
  19. Pretty much. This is a fun match because Flair actually cuts off Hogan several times, and the ending was quite the shocker, but Hogan's stuff was dead tired at this point. Cool finish.
  20. Meanwhile, on the other channel, Hogan was losing to Flair via pinfall.
  21. Great beating delivered by Finlay, who's sporting the mullet of all mullet. If you add the stach, Finlay had quite the 80's DDR soccer player look going on here.
  22. I don't think Liz got enhanced before late 1997 when she came back at Starrcade, but maybe I'm wrong. I think the dress was doing the trick here. Anyway, she indeed kinda looked like Sunny. Not yet as foxy as she would become as a heel. Oh, there was a match too. The usual stuff from these four. Savage was okay working with Flair during this period, but he was so much better as a heel to me. They do absolutely nothing with Woman, which is odd. Flair winning is quite the shocker. Damn heel booker Sullivan, he was trying his best to put heat on the heels despite Hogan's insecure attitude.
  23. Is that the first time the Road Warriors got back together since SummerSlam 92 ? Anyway, although they were clearly past their prime, it was a much more exciting debut (in blue, no less) than going to a draw against the freaking Head Bangers one year later on RAW. Luger is pretty great here, namedropping every team available including the State Patrol. Sting is an idiot. I loved their heel/face tag team, that was fresh and well executed.
  24. They had a better match a few days before on Saturday Night. Harlem Heat were a rather shitty team, and apart from the great ax kick at the beginning, this is typical plodding and boring HH work. Luger's angle made the segment interesting. Nitro was really stacking up the cards like crazy at this point, I'm surprised Raw won this one.
