    This is the greatest vignette in the history of our sport. The first minute with Hogan exploring the Dungeon is hilarious. You gotta love the musical themes of the monsters discretly being heard as Hogan mentions them, it's nearly Prokofiev. The debut of The Giant. I maintain this is all in Sullivan's fucked up mind. Or Sullivan put some acid in Hogan's drink at catering. There's no way this place exist. THIS IS NOT HOT !!!

    Without putting in too much thought : Funk (Terry), Hansen, Flair, Windham, Morton, Guerrero (Eddie), Savage, Steamboat... hum... Vader, Mysterio or Tully or Eaton or Anderson (Arn)... Haven't seen enough Rose or Bock to really compare, ditto Race and the old masters like Brisco, Thesz and such...

    Thus far the Bluebloods have been pretty fun considering the garbage they had to work with : Nasties and Harlem Heat. But yeah, Eaton had slipped by that time. Washed up ? I wouldn't say so. He was still really damn solid in everything he was doing, and yeah he wasn't given any chance after that really (although the Bluebloods really didn't get that much of a chance either when you think about it).

    Not to be a shit stirrer or anything, but that doesn't say that WWF had a deeper roster to me, it says that WWF had mostly a shitty taste in pro-wrestling.

    You got a laugh out of me on that one. Poor Shawn. But yeah, it was a total postmodern match *totally* based on "acting" and "scriptwriting", not in a Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior way but in a "it isn't a wrestling match, it is a scene from a movie" way. Pure shit. The infamous "Sorry, I love you", was enough for me to hate that Flair match which was already outrageously ridiculous and sad on his own, but this took things to another level. I sure hope we get more of this at Mania this year though, it's "interesting" to see where they go from there.

    I'm getting repetitive, but tremendous promo AGAIN from Landell. He's been even better as a face than as a heel, something that has to be seen to be believed.

    The match sucked so much, and I'm so tired of the damn streak/self-conscious yearly Taker epic gimmick at this point that even that fact isn't great to me. Now, Taker losing his streak to HHH, that would have been pretty awesome actually only for the shitstorm it would have provoqued.

    Dylan beat me to it. There's nothing great about Taker vs HHH from last year, from any perspective, shape or form. It was greatly laughable and terrible all around.

    Are you sure it's not the Fire on the Mountain match from that same date ? Just asking. If it is, then it's a tremendously intense match with Del Rey bleeding buckets and a great brawl afterward.

    Cornette asked for a favour to Bob Armstrong during the Gangsta feud, hence the Bodies allowed to come back. Cornette seems to be more fired up than ever whenever he's back with the Bodies. Oh man, Robert Gibson... that wasn't a bright idea...

    Another way of trying to draw a crowd playing on nostalgia, but at this point that trick was done and over with I think.

    I don't think I would say they are *great* matches, but they most certainly are awesome five minutes matches if that makes any sense. Maybe it doesn't.

    This was from Fire on the Mountain. Yeah, Cornette was the special ref, and does he look fat at this point. Usual goofy evil referee stuff, but with Cornette playing the role, it's pretty fun. Unabomb is gone. No big loss to me.

    Good match. Brad Armstrong is exactly at the right place as the ace of a small regional promotion, he looks really good in that role. Buddy's punches look great, as does Brad's selling.

    I wish. But nah, he's not leaving. He'll make a comeback in 2017 I fear, as the babyface reign of Hollande doesn't work very well thus far.

    Yes. (I know, that's a rather detailed answer) Usually when a match is too short to be *great* we use the *great 10 minutes match* or *great short match* line instead of simply *great*. It may be stupid, and it does lead to the idiotic conception that every great match has to be a 30 minutes epic (the HHH syndrome), but usually you have to go to a certain lenght to have the time to develop the structure and build to a satisfying apex. I don't think that lenght should be that long, 15 minutes is long enough to develop into a great match, and most workers should never even try for 30 (don't even talk about 60). But I'd say yes, at least to me. But hey, I love foreplays, so there is that too.

    Sounds a bit long to me, but the final minutes are indeed excellent. Jannetty was ridiculously good at this point.

    He looks like good old Glen Jacobs to me, I don't think he improved that much really. Then again, you know what I think about Kane. Pretty cool to see though. The ring is too small for Taker to do his flying clotheline properly.

    Didn't Raven do an ether spot at some point to make fun of the predominance of this stuff in Cornette's promotion ? Anyway, really good match, glad to see the Bodies back, although they were on their last legs, as Dr. Tom will soon hook up with Candido and Del Rey will sadly become a JTTS on WCW TV. Table spot, uh ? It's 1995 I guess, someone is gaining popularity...

    Because the Steiners always have been insanely overrated, that's your answer. The "great" Dome show match doesn't hold a candle to any of the other Hase/Sasaki other that year. it's not even a *good* match. Hell, Rick Steiner & Scott Norton had a much better match with Hase/Sasaki later in the year, simply because it had structure. The Superbrawl match is the same average kind of match, with a lot less exciting spots. They were shitty faces in peril (although Rick was better then Scott, at least early on), they never figured how to sell, they never figured how to use their big spots in a logical (or at least in a sort of ascending scale) way, they suck at southern tag team match structure because they are only interested in throwing bombs, which is why they can only be fun when they got some team who they can throw around (Nasties) or some team who throw bombs back (Doom) and settle them down (Doc/Gordy). The Road Warriors are indeed much better at tag team wrestling. And although I consider them really shitty workers, the Nasty Boys are better purely as "tag team" workers. Not that I don't enjoy the Steiner for what they are. But a great team they are not.
