  1. I grew up on WWF probably because I was in a WWF territory and that's what was available for the most part. Really got into WCW in 96 or so but after starrcade 97 I had a hard time watching their TV. 1998 basically killed WCW for me all together and I had no emotional connection to their product until they folded. loved ECW from 95-97 but not much afterwards And I would say sometime in 1987 or so I was into the AWA as much as WWF probably because of their espn deal but I could tell they were spiraling even as a young kid
  2. I thought this was really good. By Brandon Howard:
  3. I think the point Dave was trying to make today was that Bryan had a lot of momentum pre mania. His return legit moved ticket sales and his google profile was significant but WWE has stalled his momentum since and now he's going back down to Earth. Pretty sure it's basically "strike while the iron is hot" that taking time to tell the underdog story again is risky because his numbers will go down the longer they wait. Then they can say "hey look he isn't drawing like we had hoped" Self fulfilling prophecy. I don't necessarily agree with all that at the moment but that's the point he's trying to make I think
  4. Also the story of Luger finishing up his dates early in 1991 and not having to work the last month or so on the road and it not affecting wcw business one iota is also classic WCW
  5. I meant short term. Long term is clearly Miz. Probably Summerslam. I think with Cass in the doghouse now and Miz program a little away he doesn't have a clear program now
  6. Bryan teamed with Tye Dillinger today at the show in Germany against Cass and Miz. Just a house show but I think it's obvious they don't have a clear direction for him now
  7. I knew something happened with him not interfering in the main event with Bryan and Rusev
  8. Prowrestlingsheet says Cass has heat on him for going off script in the "Little Daniel Bryan" segment last week. He wasn't supposed to continue beating on him after the kick but he did. Vince and the agents were pissed
  9. one of Charlotte's implants burst and she needs sugery
  10. The crowd seemed rather stunned that Bryan lost which I guess was the right reaction. It got real quiet. Again huge win for Rusev here
  11. Nope just a clean job from Bryan. Huge win for Rusev
  12. Well if Cass costs Bryan the match here we know they haven't given up on him yet
  13. Well yeah Im kinda turning on the Iconics. These promos are so contrived even by scripted wrestling standards
  14. Not territory days but Ole also had no use for Undertaker despite his look ( which would stand out more in WCW where everyone wasn't huge) in 1990. Dan Spivey I guess would be another example. He wasn't really pushed hard by either company despite his look and both gave up on him. Obviously Spivey never became a big star but he was always pegged as one
  15. Sweet finish to Hardy/Miz
  16. Yeah I remember him being on Global and WWE tv at the same time which was unheard of at that time. This must have been around fall 91 I remember he and Vince had a disagreement over the direction of the character. Vince wanted it to go in a more cartoonish direction while Busick wanted to be a more serious heel. RIP
  17. With that sit down tonight and the fact they didn't mention him in mitb match I think Lashley is challenging Brock at the show
  18. Stephanie giving Sami and Owens second chances to qualify seems like the obvious direction here. And Jinder v .Roman for a spot
  19. Bryan v Rusev tomorrow in mitb qualifier. Hell yeah
  20. They are still going with the Roman is being held down backstage storyline. This is doing him no favors
  21. man things are getting weird when even staunch Roman supporters are backing a heel turn or even him taking a months long hiatus and Rollins haters are calling for him to be pushed. It's been a strange time in our WWE land the last few months
  22. Watching some early 91 WCW and you can tell how happy Dusty is to be back in the company and booking again. He can't hide it
  23. There seems to be no obvious direction for the main programs for Raw now Roman and Joe looks to be done So does Nia and Alexa. I guess Rollins now goes with Finn but I don't think it's definite Tag scene is quite bleak Only obvious direction is the Ronda/Nattie/Mickie stuff. I guess Alexa gets involved here Braun with no clear direction. I guess Zayn v Owens?
  24. People leaving in droves.
