I've seen alot of talk on Hash, especially on DVDVR.
-
It's not even better than some of the AJPW matches? Jesus Christ I know they are idols we are supposed to worship at the feet of but that's a little much no? It was fun but nothing overtly special. One of the better Zangiev matches.

That Luger title win was one of my favorite WCW moments. Then he lost it a few days later to make WCW and Luger look like the fools they were to go against the NWO. Stupid.
-
I think I am going to attempt this. There's more than enough footage. While I don't think it compares to the original ECW, it was still pretty damned good. I'd certainly buy it I think it's been made already.

Since when ? The day I stumbled onto puroresu I heard about Hash as being a great fucking wrestler. Even when the New Japan heavies weren't pimped at all, Hash was the exception to the rule because he was working a stiffer, harder style akin to the AJ guys which were the references back then. I love Hash, he's been a favourite of mine for ever, but it's the first time I've heard of him being "underrated". But hey, if people have forgotten how great he was these days, he should be put back into the mix yesterday indeed. Yeah, I'm with El-P. I've never heard anyone say a cross word about Hash besides being fat. He's always been pimped as one of the greats. I also think shoot style is alot easier to do than just about any style out there.

I'm one of the biggest Victor Zangiev fans out there and that match is fun, but if you think that's better than some of the AJ matches, you need to do some rewatching.

I read that he was supposed to be back Mid-January, but I don't see that happening.

That's pretty much the gist of it. I've seen some good Sullivan promos and some really dumb ones. -
Come on guys. WWECW was fun and all, but that's about it. It was a TV show but not a full fledged promotion. I'm not a big fan of ECW and loved WWECW, but it is comparing two diferent things.

According to Buff, he's getting ready for a TNA run that Bischoff denied.

AJW being better is arguable, though I haven't watched much Joshi in years and am in no position to make a detailed argument myself. 80's JCP is better than 90's WCW and I'm a guy who grew up on 90's WCW. I actually don't even think it's all that close. We don't know about Lucha, but we do know there is plenty of great Lucha from the 80's. Memphis was clearly better in the 80's. Portland was clearly better in the 80's by a massive margin (though you could argue that Portland was better in the 70's and I'd listen to it). Mid-South you mention and is clearly a huge plus for the 80's. There was no AWA in the 90's really so the AWA was clearly better. What we have I would argue Puerto Rico was better in the 80's. Texas wrestling was better in the 80's based on what I've seen. Then there are the myriad of territories that didn't exist in the 90's. I mean if you take indy wrestling from the 90's, ECW, SMW and the USWA do you think it's even close to the equal of 80's territorial wrestling? As a guy who worked on the SMW and ECW Sets, I would say "no fucking way in hell" and I'm about as big a fan of those two promotions as you'll find online. 80's wrestling was better in the States in my view. We don't know about Mexico. European wrestling was best in the 70's, but definitely better in the 80's than in the 90's. Japan is arguable, though unlike with the States there were more promotions of note in the 90's so you could give it the edge on that and I wouldn't argue. In any event "virtually every promotion was better in the 90's" is not something I am buying. AJW definitely was better and I don't think there is any question to it. As far as complete cards, once you take away the rookie and midget match, there was little crap on the card. They lost big people every year from 96 on and weren't the AJW of old, but it just gave room for the younger girls to shine and the quality is there.

AJW decreased but the GAEA years were actually really good. The late 90's AJW era is some of my favorite stuff. Toyota and Kyoko still had some good ones, Nanae and Momoe were a ton of fun and LCO/Ito finally came into their own, plus Maekawa and Watanabe. It wasn't peak AJW but it was a great mix of vets, younger girls and people from other companies making it good.

I don't have a problem with Chuck minus that stupid grenade spot.

I attended one Chikara show and its unlikely I'll ever go again. I watched a ton of their shows and thought "I'm in on the joke" but when I went to the show I thought, "The joke is on me". Basically, I don't mind watching comedic wrestling for free but I don't want to pay for that crap.

I recommended these to someone on F4W: Kansai/Ozaki vs Yamada/Toyota 2/3 Falls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60WqXqu07kg...446&index=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Meh7VQOn25s Yamada vs Toyota Hair vs Hair Kana vs Ayumi Kurihara https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FReJZC1ynvo Part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWr16fGegiQ P2 Megumi Kudo vs Combat Toyota Explosion match: Bull Nakano vs Shinobu Kandori Chain Match https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADQFHm-H_VU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFy9UD80QN8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmgdyALLFuY Dump Matsumoto vs Chigusa Nagayo Hair vs Hair https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G-Cv_HjSmw Natsuki Taiyo vs Kyoko Kimura - Good fast paced an high flying match https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS4lcef__IU Aja Kong vs Michiko Omukai There's a little bit of everything here. Lots of stiffness, heated matches and some hardcore stuff.

Dino Bravo is my least favorite wrestler ever. I know, good in the early 80's, but those years don't make up for all the bad WWF years.
-
My favorite Taylor match was his Battlebowl 1991 tag against Lex Luger and Arn Anderson. Taylor turns face during the match and the crowd eats it up. I gave it a really high rating.

I thought the really telling thing with them was watching how the Commonwealth angle in Southwest played out. There was a short run in there where Luke was on his own, and he's actual a really exciting, violent brawler. And then Butch shows up...and he's not. At all. And they start teaming, and Luke starts working down to Butch's level. Really weird thing to find out about two guys I used to not be able to tell apart at all. As to the topic at hand..."really dislike" is probably too strong a term, but I was always very "meh" towards Bull Nakano. I honestly can't put my finger on why that is, but her work leaves me cold in ways that, say, Aja Kong's doesn't. You have to see the Sheepherders in Memphis. They were at their best there with Johnathan Boyd being really great.

Agreed. The York Foundation was my favourite part of WCW all year long. The York Foundation is legit one of my favorite stables of all time along with The Royal Brothers and The Italian Connection. I still dream of holding my own show where I can reform the York Foundation for one night only... My answer is Mark Henry. I don't care what anyone says, I'm not into him and I'm never going to be into him. I think he can be passable and that's it. I never cared for Brody either

Christian had a great run in TNA. His match with Samoa Joe at the one PPV was awesome until the typical stupid TNA finish. As for TNA's best matches, the two that pop into my head are: XXX vs AMW - 6 Sides of Steel LAX vs XXX - Ultimate X match I've been watching TNA since like 2005, so its not good when I can only think of two great matches off the top of my head. One other one that I thought was pretty good but not great was Rhyno vs AJ Styles in Elevation X. Probably the only non-japanese scaffold match I've enjoyed. As for AJ, I've seen him live a countless number of times and I really don't think I've ever seen a bad AJ match and if I did, I'm sure it had nothing to do with AJ. He's really been great since 2002 and while he does get praise, he deserves more.

Why's DVDVR down again? It seems to be the only website that is down multiple times each week. -

I want to know more about Duggan on Harry. I love that show. I have about 12 of the episodes, but that isn't one of them.
