Would John Cena make your personal top 100?

I blame Cena because most of his offense looks awful from the weak blue thunder bomb to the terrible punches. -

Cena's not an idiot by any means. He apparently has Arn Anderson as his personal agent. To me, if he's still doing the STF that way, there's a reason for it. There's a million ways to do the STF in a safer and more believeable way and Cena hasn't figured out any of them. -

Well working wise, the only person I would relate him to is Bruno because I always thought Bruno sucked at wrestling. However, he doesn't have even a fraction of the heat or support that Bruno did. Let's face it: - Bad execution - the man still can't figure out how to apply an STF 9 years in. - Questionable selling - Undefined character/gimmick - A wannabe rapping marine who makes poop jokes? - He's only over with half of the crowd with the over half hating him - Good luck finding people booing Austin or Bruno during their big face runs. He would have been turned/fired in any other era. He doesn't even get that big of a reaction compared with guys of past era's. Also, WWE uses about 90% fake crowd heat these days, so it's hard to even tell. Watch the attitude era and you'll see the differences between current day WWE manipulated heat and real heat. - Inconsistent promo skills - Cena gets a few good ones in each year but then has two or three bad ones to negate them He's had some good matches, but if I put say 5 of them up against anyone's best except Bruno and maybe Hogan to a degree depending on how you rate him, he's going to lose. Keep in mind that this is just WWF guys only. Put him up against Flair, Lawler, Bockwinkle and others and he's going down. -

Holy crap guys, I just watched 3/6/1982 Memphis TV and it may be equal with the legendary 2/27/1982 edition. This show had it all. Hart debuted "We Hate School", Lawler cut an awesome promo vowing to retire if he loses to Mantel again and then Steve Keirn broke down after losing to Norvell Austin. Full Review here, don't miss it: http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2012/08/cw...-tv-361982.html -

As some of you may know, I've been reviewing some Memphis wrestling lately for my blog and today I hit the absolute gold mine. Here's some details about it: The show starts off with a Stan Lane vs Nightmare match. This is Memphis, but these two absolutely owned it on the mat. Nightmare and Lane both did counters I never saw before and they just worked a great wrestling match. It's surely the best match I've seen of what I watched so far, and definitely one to check out. Then the show gets even better. Jimmy Hart's First Family stages a party during the show. They are incredibly goofy and probably even drunk, just having a great time. I won't spoil it, but it is a party and when there's cake...well you know. Anyway, this was an absolutely fabulous angle. The crowd LOVED this and heck I did too. Everyone played it up perfectly and this is probably one of my favorite angles ever. Then, the show gets EVEN better. Jerry Lawler and Dutch Mantel had a title match the previous week. Lawler pinned Dutch, but Dutch had his foot on the rope and the referee didn't see. Rightfully so, Dutch is one unhappy camper. However, Hart's First Family invades. They go to town on Lawler and stare down Mantel, who just walks away. Lawler calls Dutch out over this and calls him a sissy and a coward amongst other things. They both have enough of each other and Lawler lights up Dutch with a slap across the face. They have an awesome pull-apart brawl in the studio. They turned something so simple into an absolutely must see angle. Just awesome work by both men. This show was a complete classic. This is the best episode of memphis wrestling that I've ever seen and they had me going through a rollercoaster of emotions when watching it. This is totally must see and I urge everyone to track it down ASAP. I did a full review of it in my blog(www.prowresblog.blogspot.com) and put up more pictures of it than I really should have it, but yeah, this was worth it. Check it out! And if you've already seen it, tell me your thoughts or give it a rewatch! -
Hold on, there's a Rooster Griffith? I was watching Memphis today and found a Rooster Cogman. Is that the same person? I cannot imagine that there are two different wrestlers with the name Rooster.

By being obnoxious. Angle wearing Red, White, and Blue was just a nod to him being an Olympian. Anyone else remember his 2005/2006 run where he said he wanted to have animal sex with Sharmell, hated Jesus and black people and still got cheered? -
Jaw drops... That would be in my top 5 if not number 1. I think that match is everything wrestling should be. Quick, action packed, heated and super stiff. I've called it the best sub-15 minute match ever and I still stick with it. You gave it a pretty good review too so I'm quite shocked.

Lawler is probably a really good one. Other ones would be Vince of course since he started doing TV broadcasts in the 1970's, Blassie or Moolah.
-
I am not able to find Hashimoto/Takada. I'm sure it's on here, but where?
-
Flair had that fun Raw match with Lawler on 2004 and was in some fun 6-man's. Can't be too much more detailed than that because it was 8 years ago and alot of 6-man's were great but are hard to distinguish based off of memory alone.

I'm American and I could really care less. -
Carlito never wanted to be a wrestler and truly didn't give a crap(I met him a few times and it seemed to be true too). I never thought he was as bad as he was made out to be, but he certainly never hit a fraction of his potential.
-
I probably ended up enjoying that more than any other match on the show.

I don't remember any teases of a longterm Benny/Brock program. There was the one SD match and thats it. What's up with DVDVR lately? They've been down more than they've been up. I've never seen so many problems with a website. -
I think alot of the critcisms here should be more for the booking than Toyota. They told her what to do and she acted it out. Japan has never been a great place for storylines anyway, especially in these times.

Did the 11/20/1994 Big Egg Wrestling Universe: Yamada/Watanabe vs Kandori/Futagami match not make it on the list? That may have been my second favorite match at Big Egg and made me crave a Yamada vs Kandori match. The match was stiff, heated and just jam packed with action.

Demolition was indeed really over. They had a good enough gimmick where it could reach kids, adults and fans who liked to be cute and cheer heels. Being versatile is one of the strongpoints of Demolition.

Eddy was the most over guy on the roster at that point. The crowd was more into him than anyone else. WWE HAD to give him the title. -
From my blog: http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2012/06/ll...97-8151997.html LLPW 8/15/1997 Kandori & Mizuki Endo vs. Yumiko Hotta & Maekawa This is what I'm talking about. Someone's getting kicked. Endo goes down right at the beginning of this after rushing her opponents before the bell. Work or shoot? I don't know. Kandori launches her robe at Hotta during the announcements and I love it. Endo and Hotta ground and pound each other and it's great. Endo has the worst haircut I have ever seen on a woman. Maekawa hits a totally sweet dropkick early on. Hotta and Maekawa light Endo up like the 4th of July. Tons of nasty shots in this. We finally get Kandori in this and she OWNS. She totally shows Maekawa who is boss and actually holds back on her. The best is when she takes a high kick and laughs at her. Kandori has Maekawa in a sleeper and Hotta tries to come in but Kandori just points at her and looks and Hotta stops dead in her tracks. Hotta low kicks Kandori later and Kandori wipes it off with her hand. Kandori does a great counter from the position where she would about to be powerbombed. Endo is so spunky in this. She has it, I don't know what it is, but she has it. More nasty shots by Maekawa. There's one part were she kicks Endo in the face three times while holding her leg in the air the whole time, impressive. Hotta and Kandori mess up a pyramid suplex spot and Kandori takes one hardway on her head. Not good times. Another fun spot is when Kandori has Maekawa in a sleeper and tries to interfere again. Kandori points at her and she goes away then Kandori jumps her and puts the choke on her. Maekawa hits a great step kick on Kandori and Kandori goes to GnP her. Kandori lifts Maekawa when Maekawa was sitting on her back and just tosses her like garbage. Kandori puts the fujiawa armbar on her for the win. This was really great stuff. The middle was a little slow but it was heated, stiff, believeable and Kandori showed me what great pro wrestling is all about in this. ****1/4. Vacant LLPW/FMW/Jd' 6 Woman Tag Titles: Eagle & Shark & Lioness vs. Futagami & Kurenai Yasha & Midori Eagle/Shark/Lioness are a great gang. They had a great little run with some great matches. They all look really boss and look like superstars. The face girls all wear the same colors which are sweet. More teams need coordinated colors. Tommy Ran gets handed like 6 different belts and can't even hold all of them. There were so many champions and stuff in this the announcer almost had a heart attack trying to say them all. GAMI looks totally unrecognizable in this. Donuts and dreadlocks will do that to you. Again, great camerawork in this match. Sawai CRUSHES Yasha with an Avalanche. The turnbuckle almost gave out on it. I don't know who the masked chick is with Shark's gang but I like it. Shark sickles Yasha and Yasha sells it so well. 10 star selling right there. Yasha goes for the tag and Shark steps on her wrist preventing it while flicking off her partners. Awesome. Lioness does a nice 8 rotation big swing on Yasha and just tosses her. More great selling by Yasha. EAGLE GIVES HER A NOOGIE ON HER CUT. LIONESS puts Yasha in a clutch and waves Yasha's arm at her opponents and gets so close to tagging Yasha out. Then she yells, BAKA. Shark does it too and taunts each girl individually as she teases Yasha's tag. The faces try to make a comeback before getting mobbed by the Gang. Midori and GAMI both do awesome hot tag segments and Lioness sends Gami's brain in the 3rd row with an enzugiri. Gami hits a sweeeet russian legsweep and somehow northern light suplexes Eagle. The faces go for a second top rope powerbomb before getting rushed by the gang again. Yasha gets a wooden Katana and goes to town. We need more katana's in pro wrestling. Midori owns it with a German on Eagle. Super powerbomb attempt on eagle #3 and they hit it with a tandem neckbreak attached. Eagle hits some kind of funky tilt-a-whirl from behind. Yasha gets scraped with a lariat/backdrop combo. Eagle gets the powerbomb for the win. This is pro wrestling. *****. Screw it, I'm giving it 5 stars for this. The faces were great faces 101 and the heels were awesome. I don't know if I've ever seen a a better face trios than this team. WCW Superbrawl 7 - Konnan/La Parka/Villano 4 vs Cicolpe/Juvi/Calo LLPW - Megumi Kudo vs Shinobu Kandori - Street Fight FMW - 3/14/97 - Kudo vs Kandori Barbwire Street Fight FMW - Megumi Kudo vs Mayumi Ozaki - Barbwire AJW - LCO vs Ito/Watanabe - Cage WCW Halloween Havoc 1997 - DDP vs Savage - Las Vegas Sudden Death Match I don't know if I'd reccomend it but there's a not so bad Super Match in War Cage (cage death match): Genichiro Tenryu & Koki Kitahara & Jun Kikuchi vs. Abdullah The Butcher & Tarzan Goto & Ryo Miyake

I like Budro but if you put him and Flair together, it's obvious who's better, and it's not Buddy. I can't think of anything that Buddy does better than Flair. Buddy really blew it in his first run which really hurt him because that was the most important run. Had he not screwed up, he may have had a run there, but by 1990, it was too obvious who the rip off was. He really should have went with a different gimmick.
