  1. My Smackdown 6 is different than yours. I always considered Brock a part of it and left out Chavo. If I had to rank them with Brock instead of Chavo, Edge would be last. With Chavo, Edge is fifth, big deal. Edge is not a hall of famer to me. He was involved in many good matches, but if you take out any matches that were not multiple person tags or Ladder/TLC matches then there's very few memorable matches of his. He's just a WWE main-eventer that happened to be there for a long time when the company had few other options. I wouldn't rank him too much above Kane except for having better matches and less stupid storylines.
  2. Victory and Morgan managed by Lord Littlebrook was money. They just needed time.
  3. Bull's not wrestling. She will just appear and be overweight, seriously.
  4. I reccomend all Cornette shoots. Everyone one of them is awesome for different reasons. Any of him with Heenan are gold. It's too bad Heenan can't talk anymore as I'm sure he has more great stories that he hasn't told. I also enjoy HTM's, but I think I've probably heard enough from him. I thought Robert Fuller's was awesome and I also really liked the Humperdink/Gary Hart shoot.
  5. Glad to see Lee getting some love. I think he may be one of the most underrated managers ever. He was really awesome. He could be face or heel, could sing and even got in the ring. He was a huge discovery of mine when I started watching Memphis. Him and the Moondogs are just the most interesting combination.
  6. I only enjoyed WOW as the guiltiest of pleasures. The gimmicks were backwards to the point of practically being offensive, the storylines were almost nonexistent, the production was often pretty bush-league, and the wrestling stank like week-old fish. Even being a mark for a couple of the girls like Jacklyn Hyde didn't help making the rest of the show any easier to watch. They had some other good ones too though: Caged Heat with Delta Lotta Pain(no way you could hate that name), Riot, PATTI PIZAZZ, Slam Dunk and Ice Cold. I liked Jane Blond too just because it was different and because it might have been the first secret agent gimmick in wrestling. I thought the production was really good for such a small company. 100 times better than ROH. Gotta give them credit too for drawing a decent house on their ppv. They managed to get 9,500 people in attendance at their ppv which is something TNA hasn't come close to. Speaking of women's companies, would WEW be a contender in this race? I wouldn't put them in it. I still maintain that GLOW, WOW and POWW is better than TNA though.
  7. Way worse than Bruno. He was impossible to understand and offered no insight on anything. He also seemed half drunk. I don't know about the MTV guys.
  8. Also, I wanted to say that the Crusher is the worst commentator ever. I couldn't understand anything he said in POWW.
  9. I wanted to throw out Charlie Platt. Even though he's not really remembered, I liked him. Same with the announcer for Big Time Wrestling(Farhat). I really enjoyed that guy.
  10. Someone not botching it would be news.
  11. Heel vs Heel works but during the match, one of them will be a defacto face. There was a good one in IWC with Jimmy Demarco and Dennis Gregory getting caught with different weapons in their tights.
  12. It's a good idea, but way too late in it's execution. It had its farewell after Bret returned. I don't know who could care at this point.
  13. I always thought Tenryu's enzugiri was terrible, but I'm basing it on the Tenryu of the 90's and on. He never seemed to get up high enough and he never did it quickly. Also he usually had to hold on to his opponent to execute it. Overall, pretty weak looking.
  14. I have no idea what the current percent of fans are that read about wrestling online, but it has to be big. I don't think I've met any fans who don't read about wrestling online. I'd love to know what the current number is and to end the 10% talking point for good.
  15. I got it too though mine is just yellow.
  16. These are my favorite. I wish I could get some more of these. They are quite underrated.
  17. TNA comps now technically by not charging anything and they can't get half that
  18. I only enjoyed WOW as the guiltiest of pleasures. 19. Like I said in the other thread, TNA is the worst promotion in history. Here are it's contenders: GLOW - GLOW had really well defined faces and heels. You always knew who to cheer for. The wrestling was bad, but the angles fit the characters. Speaking of the characters, you always knew what the characters were about and what their motives were within 10 seconds of seeing them. I can't figure out what's going on with TNA guys after 5 years. UWF - I don't think UWF was bad. Okay, Davey Meltzer was stupid, but it was unoffensive and easy to understand wrestling. I never felt like an idiot after watching it. Last days of the AWA - I liked the last days of the AWA. With WWF having cherry picked all their talent they had to put alot of younger guys on the card. Nothing great was going on, but the wrestling was passable. Also, OX BAKER. XPW - I used to like their tv show. There were always some luchadores or Matt Cross on there and it introduced me to some California guys that I never saw before. WCW 2000 - I haven't seen enough of it but they still had a packed cruiserweight roster and some other talented guys. The WW/SN shows weren't bad at all. WOW - I really loved WOW. Along the same lines as GLOW but a little more believable and up to date. They got alot out of a bunch of sparsely trained actresses and models. They never deserved the reputation they got and they still should be in buisness. I'd watch that over most other current promotions. Current WWE - I think WWE is at it's current worst ever, but I'd still take it over TNA. Smackdown is generally inoffensive atleast. So yeah, TNA wins. I've never watched a show that left me so confused and left me feeling like such an idiot week in and week out like TNA. They've learned nothing in 9 years and they generally seem to get worse and worse. I've watched almost every wrestling show on tv that I've ever had access to and TNA is the only one I refuse to watch.
  20. I'd love to know how the IWC only represents 10% of the fans talking point hasn't changed in 14 years.
  21. Not really. Vader would go for suplexes for much smaller opponents minutes into a match. Vader bumped like a freak because that's what he like to do. I know some people don't like Vader for that reason, that he bumped way too much for a supposed monster. It never bothered me since Vader had something else to offer, which was stiffing the hell out of his opponents and killing them with big moves. Most big fat guys who weren't exactly bomb throwers had to rely on the "break the wall down" psychology which was very effective. One Man Gang was great at it. Earthquake was pretty damn good at it too (and he had a rather good moveset too actually). Haven't seen enough Bundy to compare to these other two, but I'm sure he was really good too. Bigeow who did bump a lot was also excellent at this. I won't touch Mark Henry with a ten foot pole. Earthquake was pretty good. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. I enjoyed a good bit of Gang matches, especially his Parade of Champions match with Kerry that I loved. Of course I love Bam Bam(especially his ECW run), but I'm not a fan of Henry. I think Henry has been okay at points, but he's midcarder not a main eventer.
  22. The Harts worked good doing the Southern Style when they feuded with Lawler in 93 USWA. I haven't seen Owen's SMW match though. It should also be noted that Jacques did Memphis for a while...and was a perfectly serviceable face.
  23. Yes, you did mention them but there needs to be more people doing it. It's a total farce and a criminal injustice there. It honestly makes me angry. If someone's going to say PG-13 is better than LCO then I cannot take their list seriously. I will say that I don't blame anyone for not discussing current joshi. I don't even think there's anything discuss anymore unless someone is retiring or a promotion is closing. I'm really not sure how anyone could possibly care about it at this point. It's too hard with the delays in getting footage(if we get any at all) and how minor league all of the companies are. Even my hardcore friends in Japan don't bother much now. I knew NEO closing would kill Joshi, but I didn't think it would be this bad.
  24. I'm going to throw in some thoughts on some teams I saw mentioned. Demolition - Awesome gimmick, music and an awesome team. They got so much out of so little. I'll take them double axe handling people down over SSP's and stuff anyday. They were really consistent and really believeable. I find them to be completely different than the Roadies and don't see any comparison except for facepaint. While the Roadies are the monsters who will probably kill you, the Demos are more like boxers in a 12 round fight. They are going to beat you down and by the end of it, you will be laying in a hospital bed somewhere. They are in my top 10 teams easy. Moondogs - I love the 1990's versions with Richard Lee. Lee is an all around great and underrated manager. He could be a face or a heel with ease, get in the ring and he even sang and played guitar! As for the moondogs, just two guys who were tough and brought the fight. I found their feud with the Harris brothers to be really good and I enjoyed the stuff with Lawler. I enjoyed their face run more than their heel run actually. All the barking really got over. Wouldn't hit my top 10 for workrate and GOAT discussion, but one of my favs. Heavenly Bodies - I love the Pritchard/Del Ray combo. Del Ray is a great high flyer and is the stand out member of the team. He played his sleazy character perfectly and was totally hateable. I really liked their double team moves too and some of the bumps they took. I watched most of there WWF matches and I found all of them to be enjoyable. I'd like to see where they stand in the top 20 or so teams. Some teams that I like a little less: Original Midnight Express - I don't like Dennis Condrey with the MX, but I love him in this group. I never bought the loverboy gimmick, but when he's with Rose, it's obvious that it's just a joke so I can accept it. Paul E. was really great with these guys. Badd Company - Tons of fun matches, a cool look and DDP who was fun to watch. Doom - Just two big tough guys along the lines of Demolition. I never liked their masked run though. Couple of points: - I didn't see much of these teams in this discussion: LCO, Southern Rockers(not saying they are the best, just want to hear some thoughts), Any joshi team, The Fab's and the GdI. - It's a complete farce that not only were LCO not in discussion but that there was such little joshi discussed in general. Without joshi in your list, I cannot take your list seriously. Yes no one mentions PG-13, but that's one team. No one mentions Joshi as a WHOLE period. Think about that! That's hundreds of people not covered. There's a super big hole missing there and I'd recommend that Dylan should watch some joshi instead of this weeks Superstars. If you are going to make these lists, then you have to include Joshi or not bother making them at all. It honestly upsets me that Joshi gets left out since the girls worked twice as hard as the men and were always a few years ahead of the men. There's too much great joshi out there and it deserves to be watched. Any excuse for not including more joshi teams is unacceptable. - I'd also like to add that people should watch more Memphis/USWA. There's really something for everyone. I find it to be very easy to get through and really believable. It's simple but effective stuff. They do tend to follow the same patterns which is good if you like the pattern and bad if you don't.
  25. There is a "shoot" team up here in Thunder Bay. they've been looking to get into a league or get one started for a few years. They occasionally bring in teams for exhibition matches, but not very often. Present day roller derby is a shoot. I'm guessing the reason Thunder Bay can't get more games for their team is no one wants to make the 18 hour drive from Trawna. It's pretty big in southern ontario. Maybe some are shoots but many like the one here are works.
