  1. Gallows might want to chill with the tanning bed a bit.
  2. Who’s the big dude in the tan sport coat on the heel lumberjack side? Edit: Ah! It’s Cesar Bononi!
  3. Yeah , I agree with the Sting thing. I appreciate that AEW is willing to draw out an angle a bit, but the Darby/Sting/Team Taz stuff has just dragged. No forward movement.
  4. They have Jake Roberts on the roster. There needs to be a skit where he gives them a wedding gift and they’re terrified.
  5. You’re a prophet!
  6. - Jim Ross says that around the time of this incident in 2002, he had conversations with Vince McMahon about long term planning. Specifically, JR says that both he and Vince realized that they could not rely on talent from “The Attitude Era” forever. It was the intention of the WWF to start slowly bringing along some younger talent and introducing them into the mix. JR uses Brock Lesnar as an example of just such a younger talent. Lol. How’d that work out?
  7. I know “ice old” was probably a typo, @joeg, but there is a good possibility that it’s someone old and ice cold, so you may be right.
  8. Excuse me, but I'm going to go pitch TNT on my new drama "MoS and Winged Eagle: Pro Wrestling Attorneys". Airing this fall, Wednesdays at 10pm EST right after Dynamite!
  9. The bigger question is why PAC has an old-ass tv/vcr combo in that church?
  10. That finishing Lionsault was 100% Jericho showing he can still do it after last week.
  11. Word. They totally make the wrestlers at ringside learn the lyrics to Judas, don’t they?
  12. Ah, fuck! Archer ramming Eddie’s head into the camera lens was a great spot!
  13. So... Another thing I love about Eddie Kingston: His matches pretty much look like what I’d imagine him having a real fight with his opponent would look like.
  14. This might be the best I’ve ever seen Hager look. He rocked MJF with that punch! And fuuuuuck was Sammy’s swanton amazing! Jericho looked like shit. He needs to retire the lionsault.
  15. Great: Miro’s track suit. Love it. Bad: Kip Sabian fucking up his interference in the finish. He’s so bad.
  16. I like this Private Party turn. Hardy gets in their head and a new team shows up that does their thing better than them so they start cheating. Makes sense.
  17. Eh, Shaq still has some pull. His DJ sets draw huge crowds and he’s still active on NBA tv. They can cross promote on TNT’s NBA coverage and maybe get some folks to take a look. Is it enough to really make a huge impact? Probably not. But he’s not totally irrelevant. *Full disclosure, my wife works for one of the companies (yes, there are many) that Shaq endorses. She’s actually worked directly with him on a few things.
  18. I think Hook might be Ricky Starks’ kid. He looks more like him than he does Taz. That whole segment was kinda pointless. I’m all for a slow burn, but Sting has pretty much done the same thing every week. They need to advance that story.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38Cy_Qlh7VM&t=30s I think of this video a lot when I think of WWE's booking for the last few years. I don't want to get into a debate on what the author of the video is saying (Snyder's filmmaking vs. Marvel movies). But, I think WWE's issue is what he talks about here. They are trying to create moments, and that's it. They've always done this, but the moments used to come at key points in a story. Take the Megapowers story, for example. There are multiple iconic moments in this story. First, there's Honky Tonk Man throwing Liz to the ground. Then, there's Liz leading Hogan down to save Randy. Then, there's the ridiculously amazing handshake between Savage and Hogan. Then, there's Hogan with Liz on his shoulder. And so on... Now, it's like they have the moment in mind, but don't take the steps to get there. Like @DMJ said up there, they think Alexa on the swing is enough. Why is she on the swing? How did we get there? WWE wants to have that shot of Wrestler X pointing to the Wrestlemania sign. They'll show it week after week in video packages. I don't think they put too much effort into getting that wrestler to the point where we really care that they're pointing to that sign, though. I was glad Drew won the Rumble last year. Mostly because it was someone fresh. But was I invested in him winning and pointing to that sign? No. He'd won a few matches maybe leading up to it, but he didn't have a story.
  20. Not a blow-away show, but still good overall. That main was pretty awesome. Darby takes a beating like no one else. Ive enjoyed my weekly AEW chat with @sek69and @MoS!
  21. I was thinking the same thing. She’s had really good matches with a few women who I haven’t seen have really good matches with anyone else.
  22. Goddammit. Jade has a AMAZING look and may be able to go in the ring (I have no idea), but they need to keep her off the mic.
  23. I do think one issue with all of The Elite stuff is that we never really got a period where they were all together. Like, for a few months when AEW started, it would’ve been good to have them all chummy and doing well, then start showing cracks. They pretty much started the promotion with them not being 100% together.
  24. Eh, I like it better that they’re not just suddenly all teaming up. I thought it was a little abrupt that they all joined up last week. Someone needs to tell Omega that if he wants to keep talking during matches, he either needs to speak up or enunciate better so that we can tell what the fuck he’s saying.
  25. Oof. That whole Cargill thing was such shit that she hasn’t spoken on tv since, I don’t think.
