Last few minutes only. Eaton wins the TV title. Awesome finish, as Mark Curtis leapfrogs both guys to avoid a ref bump and Cornette hits Horner with the racket behind the ref's back.

AWESOME! The leapfrog set up was one of the coolest finishes I've seen so far on the set.

The match seemed heavily edited on TV, probably for time constraint. Either that or they switched olds in a bizarre way. The leapfrog is clearly the highlight here.

All referees should be required to be able to do leapfrogs to avoid getting bumped. The Beat the Champ envelope the winner gets looks so paltry.

Incredible leapfrog by Brian Hildebrand over both of them, which sees Cornette slug Horner with the racket letting Eaton get the pin and win the Beat the Champ TV Title.

Curtis is neck and neck with Nick Patrick now as the best ref spot of the 90's. Good to see Eaton win here.

Horner goes for an O'Connor roll and Mark Curtis leapfrogs both men to get out of the way and as they hit the ropes Cornette cracks Horner in the head with his racket. Eaton then covers him and gets the win to be the new Beat the Champ TV champion.

 

As others have said, tremendous leapfrog from Curtis but the match was nothing up to this moment.

I agree with Kevin that all refs should be required to learn leapfrogs and dropdowns to avoid being bumped, at least occasionally. When the move to get out of the way means that said ref is distracted and doesn't see the heel break the rules, that's a bonus in my book. Kudos to all involved, especially Corny for booking this finish and Hildebrand for executing it so well.

 

Bobby must not have lasted long as champ, because he was back in WCW full-time within a few weeks.
