Strummer Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Apparently Rey has asked for his release from WWE following Mania but the WWE is unwilling to do so at this time. Also, Rey is in "bad shape" which we all know is wrestler code for a lot deeper "problems" and "demons". This could get ugly soon.
Bix Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 AFAIK, this hasn't shown up on any sites with a track record of reliable reporting yet.
Strummer Posted March 12, 2011 Author Report Posted March 12, 2011 yeah I felt hesitant to post but decided to anyway <_> I'm pretty sure problems exist even if not related to this situation
Strummer Posted March 13, 2011 Author Report Posted March 13, 2011 saw it at tsm where they saw it from some NEWZ board stuff I guess looks like it's bullshit. but Rey and the company are still having problems and Mistico is being brought in so Rey's future with the company will be interesting (I guess we can talk about his future in this thread)
sek69 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 For as long as he's been putting off surgery I'd be more shocked if he didn't have some sort of "issues". Dude's got to be a walking pharmacy at this point.
smkelly Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 If Rey does end up leaving the WWE, do you think he'll call it a career or go elsewhere (TNA, CMLL, AAA, other)?
MikeCampbell Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 I remember a few years ago, after one of Rey's knee surgeries, Dave reported that Rey's doctor told hm that he didn't want him even jumping onto the curb from the road.
rovert Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 It is from Wrestling World Newsletter who have broken news before while also responsible for the Dawn Marie is a scam artist stuff
Resident Evil Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 If Rey does end up leaving the WWE, do you think he'll call it a career or go elsewhere (TNA, CMLL, AAA, other)? He would probably go elsewhere. The only possible way I'd see him not going somewhere else if he did leave the WWF was if he found something else he was extremely passionate about in life or if he simply could not move anymore or if he wasn't happy with his in ring preformances anymore. Last one I don't see happening since mostly everybody still loves his matches.
Loss Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 I would imagine Rey would have more offers than just about anyone if he left WWE. He might even make more money, depending on how many dates he wanted to take and what kind of deals he could leverage himself.
Kostka Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Rey addressed a retirement rumor on his twitter recently... "The rumor is I might B retiring soon! NOT TRUE, got many years left of entertaining my FANS!U guys keep me going! Luv it! Los quieroUnChingo"
El-P Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Many years ? Isn't Rey Rey really banged up at this point ? Aren't his knees shot ?
smkelly Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 He's had over a dozen knee surgeries, maybe more depending on what you define as surgery. I can't fathom him having very many more years under his belt unless he goes the Undertaker route and works a dozen matches a year. Even then though, his days have been numbered for some time.
Strummer Posted March 17, 2011 Author Report Posted March 17, 2011 -- Rey Mysterio has denied online reports indicating that he requested his release from World Wrestling Entertainment. "Confirming! Did not ask 4 release!" he wrote on Twitter. "Those that like me, u will have Rey 4 a good time&those that don't, well life isn't always sweet, 619 out!" rajah
rovert Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Dr. Lucha and Cubs Fan on F4W said Rey is happier in WWE than he has been in a long time although he wouldnt mind having new knees.
