Rude does a green screen promo hyping the 30-minute Ironman challenge at Beach Blast. He mentions that he hasn't been to bed for sleeping purposes since 1972! Finally, real PPV hype, even if it is minimal.

Before the interview is a commercial for the Bruise Cruise. I'm surprised that Bill Watts went through with that.

Rude's promo makes Madusa blush. He's pretty confident about the 30 minute Ironman match.

Rude cuts a great promo, also making threats towards that "old seahag" Bonnie and the little lizard--who's going to support them when the Ironman is over?

Rude brings the goods on the mic, not having been to bed, for sleep, since '72, and ponders about Steamboat's seahag and little lizard.

This may have been Rude's best promo ever, although I didn't care for the digs at Bonnie and Richie considering where the feud has been. The line about not having been to bed for sleep since 1972 is one of the top five lines of the year so far.

 

I was focused on Rude, so I didn't see Medusa blush. Considering who her character is, it had to be accidental.

 

As for the Bruise Cruise, it probably would have cost a ton of money for Turner to cancel it just to appease Watts, whose dedication to kayfabe was already far too much for the day and age he found himself in. The Cowboy may not have liked the idea, but he probably had no choice but to lump it.
