Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Buddy Landell is angry about his head being busted open and sends in a taped interview from his couch. But Budro has time on his side just like Mick Jagger. Awesome. Next, we get a promo from Tommy Rich. Two guys who sometimes disappear, and you forget how effective they are because their presence has been a little sporadic through the years. Tim Evans
Not a flattering look for Buddy. Who knew the JYD at dog biscuits?
Kevin Ridge
Looks like he was doing the interview in his underwear.
WingedEagle
Landel & Rich give promos for their match with Dundee & JYD. Rich's was awesome.
PeteF3
Landell cuts a quasi-babyface promo, vowing revenge on Bill Dundee and the Junkyard Dog for splitting his head open. Rich tapes a promo regarding a first-blood rematch. Weird that they're pushing JYD as the "Big Black Hope" considering what already has gone on in WCW. Was Snowman making noise again? garretta
So JYD was Dundee's partner of choice, eh? It makes sense, considering that his regular partner Lawler is busy with the Gilberts. JYD as the "great black hope"? In 1992? Not even close, Papa. If Snowman (or the threat of Snowman) was behind this, he ought to have at least picked someone younger to throw what little weight he had behind. If this was Papa's own doing, he's way more behind the times than any of us ever dreamed. Tommy's promo was right on point, but Budro's, as noted above, tended to be almost babyface-like, especially when he talked about his kids seeing his head busted open. Then again, faces sound like heels more and more often, so why shouldn't the reverse be true sometimes as well?
ajtroma
I think you guys are overthinking this one. That "great black hope" line was...well, just a line thrown out. It didn't mean anything here. Just a line for heat
garretta
Not buying the excuse, AJ. If you need to throw out random lines for heat, you and your angle are in big trouble. If you don't want your audience to think of JYD as the next black world heavyweight champion (whiich I'm assuming this means), then either tell Buddy not to say it or edit the reference out if he ad-libs it. Simple as that. Just because it's wrestling doesn't mean you can say anything and everything in the name of so-called "heat". .
ajtroma
I'm not condoning it. I just think there really wasn't much more to this one.
JKWebb
Buddy can't even be bothered to put pants on... one of the all-time greatest.
dawho5
Buddy doing the promo from his couch in his un-flattering underwear was definitely a bold choice that somehow works in his promo's favor. Rich did great work.
