Loss
Bob Armstrong fines DWB $2500, the maximum amount he can fine without having to go before the Board of Directors. Jim Cornette quickly interrupts him with a note from a lawyer that says he can't sign a title match against the Rock & Roll Express as long as the Bodies are giving other teams that have never gotten a title shot a title shot. Armstrong vows to get to the bottom of this.
shoe
A nice little segment.
El-P
I like how segments are inertwined, it makes the whole show very much organic (as opposed to, well, what wrestling TV has became).
Kevin Ridge
Armstrong didn't seem to concerned about Horner's health. He barely checked on him.
PeteF3
Bob Armstrong has declared DWB has gone one step over the line--what was last week, exactly? Cornette is fed up with the fallen Tim Horner taking up his interview time, so he makes his own time--he's got an INJUNCTION barring Bob Armstrong from setting a title match between the Heavenly Bodies and the Rock 'n Roll Express. Not while Dan Davis & Dixie-Dynomite and Joe Cazana & Pat Rose are out there deserving of title shots. I do love these overlapping segments with Cornette paying lip service to the other issues going on.
WingedEagle
Armstrong fines DWB $2500 for his attack on Horner. Cornette is out to say RNR got their one shot at the tag titles and his lawyers got an injunction preventing them from getting another title match as long as other deserving teams haven't gotten a chance. Good storytelling.
GSR
Bob Armstrong is fining the Dirty White Boy $2,500, he would fine him more, but that's all he can do on his own until he goes before the Board of Directors. He says that he was calling Tim Horner a coward, but that's the most cowardly thing he has seen in his life. Jim Cornette comes out to confront Armstrong and tell him that his mother has a crack staff of attorneys and they have been working on something for him. He says how they gave the Rock & Roll Express their chance at the tag titles and they blew it. He then hands him an injunction which states that Bob Armstrong cannot sign a title match between the Heavenly Bodies and the Rock & Roll Express as long as there are other teams that deserve a chance that have not yet had an opportunity, like Dixie Dy-No-Mite & Danny Davis and Pat Rose & Joe Cazana. Armstrong says that Smoky Mountain Wrestling have lawyers of their own and he's going to do some research on this.
garretta
This was really good. Bullet Bob remains the best wrestling authority figure I've seen in a long time. He has instant credibility due to his time in the ring, and he can talk to the wrestlers and the fans without seeming like just another stuffed-shirt suit. My favorite line was when he vowed that Ron would never get his operation; Jack Tunney certainly wouldn't get away with saying something like that, nor would Vince ever put him in a position to say it. I liked how Corny didn't make the Bodies out as afraid to wrestle Rock 'n' Roll; he even said that they'd wrestle them as many times as Bullet Bob wants, just not for the titles. Usually the cowardice of the heel team is made out to be so obvious it's pitiful; here, Corny at least seemed to be making a semi-valid point that Bullet Bob will have to spend time looking into. He's still trying to avoid Ricky and Robert like the plague, of course, but the way he's going about it shows craftiness and intelligence that you don't often see from wrestling managers. Whether it will work or not remains to be seen. Line of the segment: Corny picking up a piece of the bottle that Tony had just smashed over Horner's head and telling Bullet Bob,, "You really need to get a woman to come in and clean up around here." dawho5
I really enjoy how Corny will interject the other angles and a little humor about them (the remark about having a woman come in and clean) into his promos without affecting the seriousness of what he is trying to get across. Great promo all-around.
