Loss Posted November 1, 2012 Author Report Posted November 1, 2012 Hogan and Warrior do a couple more drug-fueled promos before Jack Tunney announces that it will be announced later which title will be defended, but the match is on for Wrestlemania. Announcement of an announcement. How meta. Quote
PeteF3 Posted November 5, 2012 Report Posted November 5, 2012 Unquestionably the greatest main event ever signed in World Wrestling Federation history! Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 Main event announced for WrestleMania. Tunney has big pictures of Warrior and Hogan on the wall of his office. Thought it was kind of silly to tease which title would be defended. Quote
soup23 Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Agreed that it seems ridiculous that they drew out which title it would be for, but nonetheless the main event for WM is set. Quote
Cox Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 "Never before have two men been so equally matched in popularity, strength, and stamina." Man, that is a pretty backhanded compliment he's paying to Hulk Hogan! Sounds like they want to protect the IC title by not immediately making the match for the WWF title and drawing out which title will be defended, and making it both titles on the line also protects the IC title some (even though it's ludicrous to think Hulk Hogan actually has a shot at winning the IC belt). These are things that WWE just doesn't care about today, and that's a shame. Quote
Laney Posted June 8, 2013 Report Posted June 8, 2013 The main event is set for WrestleMania, but which title will be on the line? I can't imagine anyone would be expecting or hoping that the IC title would be up for grabs in the main event of Mania. Quote
JerryvonKramer Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 I just want to point out that Hulk Hogan refers to God as a "Hulkamaniac" during his promo. Also talks about Warrior being sweat from the Devil's armpit. Comes to something when Warrior comes off as the more sane of the two. JACK TUNNEY! Jack is almost jolly by his standards in this announcement. There's even a little twinkle in his eye as he says "thank you". Tunney is deffo a JvK hero. Quote
Zoo Enthusiast Posted December 29, 2013 Report Posted December 29, 2013 The stuff from Hogan here is amazing. I hope Warrior isn't getting his power from drinking the sweat from the devil's armpit. Quote
garretta Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 The promos in this clip are from the previous week and are available on Disc 3. The only new material is Tunney's announcement. They were probably still figuring out who would go over; if Hogan was, they wouldn't have put the IC belt on the line. The announcement of it being a double championship match is a dead giveaway in retrospect, although the way Vince promoted Warrior, he should have been able to defend both belts at once and share the tag titles besides! Quote
Stiva Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 "If you drink the sweat from the devil's armpit!" is a line that could only have been uttered in the build-up to this match. Jesus, these promos are ludicrous Quote
drew wardlaw Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 Re-watching this, Hogan looks like chubby Nick Hogan. Quote
GSR Posted December 3, 2016 Report Posted December 3, 2016 Mean Gene says how last week we heard challenges from both Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior, and wants to hear about the ‘Ultimate Challenge’ one more time. Hogan talks about if he finds out the power that the Warrior possesses comes from drinking the sweat from the Devil’s armpit he’ll strike him down!?!?! Warrior’s promo sounds very much like the one from last week. We then hear from WWF President Jack Tunney who is sat in his office and for some reason has framed photos of both the Warrior and Hogan on his wall! He announces that Wrestlemania will be from the Toronto Skydome on April 1st and the main event will be Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior, the greatest main event ever signed in WWF history! It hasn’t yet been determined who’s title will be defended, that will be decided at a later date. As a kid it always felt like a big deal whenever Jack Tunney would make an appearance on screen or have some sort of announcement. It adds a bit of gravitas to things. No idea why he would have framed pictures of Hogan and Warrior on his office wall mind! Quote
