Loss Posted November 18, 2012 Author Report Posted November 18, 2012 JYD is back in the N-Double-A. He wants the Four Horsemen ... and ... Mean Mark? Cornette interrupts him, gloating about the MX tag title win. He wants to know where JYD has been. JYD tells him he has been at 845 Deberry Street in Louisville, KY. Cornette: "That's my mother's house!" JYD: "That's what I'm sayin'. I'm yo daddy." Hilarious! Quote
PeteF3 Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 Cornette's revelation had me laughing to the point where I missed JYD saying "I'm yo' daddy." Cornette's attempted subterfuge afterward is almost as good. Priceless segment. An in-shape JYD would have had a lot to offer to any promotion. Caudle and Schiavone seemed like they were legitimately cracking up. Quote
soup23 Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Cornette can really sell having one put over on him. PRetty funny segment overall. Quote
shoe Posted December 26, 2012 Report Posted December 26, 2012 This was well done. I laughed 20 years ago. Laughed again last night. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 JYD has arrived in WCW. He calls out the Horsemen and Mean Mark? Cornette wants to talk about the Midnight Express instead. Cornette tries to gloss over JYD’s WWF stint. Yeah, he didn’t light up the world but he wasn’t exactly dog food there either. Quote
Cox Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Funny segment. Weird that they have Cornette out there with JYD when I can't imagine they were going to be doing a program together, but Cornette puts this over like a champ and JYD comes out of it looking like a player. Quote
garretta Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Was the crowd barking for the Dog, or were they booing? It's hard to tell. JYD continues to come off as a badass here like he did in the USWA earlier. It's almost like he's on a repentance tour, trying to get back what he lost in terms of credibility by leaving Mid-South for the WWF. Corny willingly plays the fool for his old friend here, as the Horsemen had more pressing matters on their minds. It'll be interesting to see as we go on why this run is almost universally panned by Internet fans, as it certainly looks to be off to a flying start. Was the address JYD gave Mrs. Cornette's real Louisville address at the time? I've heard that she was legitimately a huge wrestling fan who dabbled backstage a bit in her time, although "Mama Cornette" was clearly a fictional character. Quote
Loss Posted January 5, 2015 Author Report Posted January 5, 2015 I don't think they would give out her real address on the air. Quote
garretta Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 Good point. It was probably a vacant lot or something similar. Quote
drew wardlaw Posted April 13, 2016 Report Posted April 13, 2016 Funny promo. I was thinking this was the "north cackalacka and south cackalacka" promo but that's a different one I guess. Quote
GSR Posted December 31, 2016 Report Posted December 31, 2016 Returning to the NWA is the Junkyard Dog! He says that he’s been all over the world but is now back in the NWA and looking towards the Four Horsemen, Mean Mark and anybody else who wants to step in the dog yard. Play time is over, he’s here to stay! Jim Cornette joins them and he’s annoyed as this interview time was allocated for the winners of the U.S. tag title match, the Midnight Express, and not for the Junkyard Dog. Cornette wonders where the JYD has been these past few years while the Midnight Express have been winning matches and titles. The Dog says: ‘I’ve been at 845 Deberry Street, Louisville, KY. Do you know where that is?’ ‘That’s my mother’s house!’ ‘That’s what I’m saying. I’m your Daddy!’ Cornette tries to blindside the JYD with his tennis racket but the Dog catches it and he scarpers out of there. I wondered why this had been put on the set, then laughed out loud at ‘that’s my mother’s house’ and then I knew! Fun little segment. Quote
dawho5 Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Ten times better than the Robocop segment! I'm pretty sure this was one time I was happy to see the Dog show up. Once he starts wrestling it's way less likely to happen. Quote
