Last few minutes. The Freebirds run in for the DQ and attack Morton and Rich until Vader appears at ringside. But Vader turns babyface! He clears the ring of the heels and is united with Ricky Morton and Tommy Rich in a very odd team. I don't think this turn was ever followed up on.

Horowitz looks really good here. I'd pay to see a Horowitz vs. Rip Rogers match. I know Vader had the Hansen match at WrestleWar but I don't remember this at all.

This is kind of a wtf moment in time with Vader clearing house as a babyface. The action before the finish looked pretty good to.

Horowitz actually looking strong in the match. Freebirds attacks after match. Vader! He nails Hayes and runs off the Freebirds. He shakes hands with Morton and Rich? Black Scorpion must have done something to him.

Yeah, I was wondering what was so special about this match and then Vader lumbers on down. Totally forgot about this angle.

The people are starving for Vader! Pretty funny stuff. He got an even bigger face rub a few weeks earlier, helping Luger fight off the MCM and Big Cat. I'm presuming this continues through the Hansen match.

Anyone watching could tell that Morton and Rich weren't getting seriously pushed, as Horowitz and Storm got way too much offense. It was nice to see that Horowitz was actually a competent wrestler, though.

 

Anybody else catch the spot where Rich tagged Morton for the double dropkick while Ricky was still in the ring? Apparently the referee didn't, and neither did Tony.

 

We get a rare face appearance from Vader here, as he clears the ring of the Freebirds. Unfortunately, he either no-showed the December 30 card in Chicago or was never booked for it in the first place. Whatever the case was, he didn't wrestle there that night, according to Graham Cawthon. In fact, his only known match in December had already taken place; he beat Moondog Rex on December 1 in Milwaukee.

Ahhh I was hoping for a full JW Storm match on here. I was focused on that, then all of a sudden Vader is out clearing house for Morton and Rich. Strange sight to see.
