A feature on El Santo, including funeral footage from 1984! His peers and a few contemporaries say some things about him that I'm sure are nice. We even get a few old clips, which look phenomenal. Cool segment, and a sad reminder of how little lucha footage we really have.

A cool segment that I wish had subtitles or that I was more fluent in Spanish.

Santo throws some pretty wicked punches, actually. The stuff at the end from what was probably the tail end of his career was the coolest part for me. I wonder how much of that kind of footage is still out there somewhere.

I always liked these lucha features for culture aspects and this was no exception. The old clips especially was cool.

Not much else to add. I liked how both rudos and tecnicos paid tribute to Santo here, and the old footage we see is in better shape than some of the stuff WWE has unearthed since then. Like the others here, I wish we had access to it.

 

I don't think any wrestler who died today, even Hogan, would have a funeral as well attended as Santo's was. This man wasn't only a wrestling legend, he was a Mexican national legend.

Incredible footage. The sheer size of the funeral is just staggering.
