We travel back to 1998 for Big Van Vader's very first shoot interview. We hear about his upbringing in the mean streets of Los Angeles, his gridiron success in college, his Super Bowl experience, what gave him the itch to start wrestling, his training, working with stiff monsters like Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody, AWA payoffs, being courted by Inoki and Baba and more! I added as much relevant video footage as possible to help capture Vader's story.

KC's Back to the Territories with Bill Eadie is a major winner. Eadie is truly a charming guy, tells a lot of stories and holy shit does he look like he refuses to age. 69 years old ? Really ?

Apparently they're gonna do Puerto Rico with Savio Vega, that's pretty cool. Can't think of anyone more suited. I'd love them to get Raymond Rougeau to do Montreal. This series has easily been the best and most consistent one they have released.

The consistency is probably attributed to Cornette. He clearly does an insane amount of research to prepare for these shoots, the last coupe of cold openings have been especially great. This series has shown how good of an interviewer he is, with his ability to keeps things moving along, and knowing the right questions to ask. And, now it seems like they're trying to cover some of the areas that aren't really remembered all that well, like Detroit and Houston (NWA Classics notwithstanding).

More KC goodness with Honky Tonk Man covering his journey to SummerSlam 88. It's really an interesting dive into how business worked back then, especially how Vince functions (the part where he tries desperately to sell HTM as a babyface for sheer merchandise reasons echoes with some familiar modern situations…) and treats his talent. HTM goes pretty much in details about the whole refusing to job to Savage, and again it's quite interesting to grasp how he was considering his whole stint and how things worked then.

This one I found quite interesting. Bret's take on the year 1992.

Bret talks about a conversation about Chief Jay Strongbow where Bret was one of 5 or so names of guys who would be the next world champion.

Has there been any talk about who the other names were?

I know by this time Bulldog was IC champ so would that rule him out of being a top contender?

Trying to think who possibly could have been on the list I think Tatanka could have been a viable contender with him being undefeated from early 92, maybe Undertaker as he had a short run the previous year.

I don't think Macho would have regained it if they were looking for someone different, same for Warrior as I know they had house show matches the previous month.

Did Honky ever address the rumours of a supposed Flair/Savage match at Summerslam 88?
