Loss Posted July 26, 2013 Author Report Posted July 26, 2013 Last few minutes. Giant sits up after a legdrop and the NWO run-ins commence. Not that they needed to wait for Patrick to be bumped. The numbers eventually get the best of the Giant and they lay him out to end the show. Quote
soup23 Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 The Giant looks huge compared to Hogan. I also couldnt believe how quickly he got up from the legdrop. Patrick predictably doesn't count after the chokeslam and he receives one for his troubles. Ditto for Buff, VK, and Bubba. Bisch hands Hulk a guitar and a pep talk. The bump with the guitar looks awkward but w get a big NWO beatdown to end the show among debris. Quote
Zenjo Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 One of the things I really hate is how turning heel suddenly makes a wrestler so much 'weaker'. Hulk Hogan had been beating countless opponents clean with the legdrop for 15 years. Now that he's Hollywood Hogan the move has no power all of the sudden. Okay the Giant was a special case, but now Hogan couldn't beat anyone legit anymore because he's a heel. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 After many years of Hogan no selling finishers it is fun to see The Giant pop up so easily after the leg drop. Nick Patrick does a terrible job of letting Hogan know The Giant is standing right behind him ready for the Chokelsam. Patrick ends up having issues with the pinfall count. The Giant never had a chance on this PPV with winning the belt. Quote
El-P Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 Not nearly as fun as the Robin Hood match. Nick Patrick was probably tired after working the entire PPV by himself. Giant kicking out of the legdrop was poetic justice. This beatdown foreshadows what would pretty soon be an issue with the nWo angle. What was fresh and shocking is slowly becoming predictable. Quote
PeteF3 Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Sort of the only finish you could really book--Giant has enough of Patrick not counting, so he drops him with a chokeslam, takes out the B-teamers again, then gets swarmed by the A-listers as Hogan clobbers him with a guitar. Quote
KB8 Posted February 19, 2019 Report Posted February 19, 2019 They were probably reaching the point of diminishing returns with this match-up and that was before they ran it again two days later. Still, this was sort of amusing for Hogan horseshittin' it up like a weasel. I didn't know they had Patrick work this whole PPV so that's...a new thing I now know. Quote
dawho5 Posted June 11 Report Posted June 11 If this was going to be the finish here they should have done something different on the preceding Nitro. I guess they did include a guitar (why?) in this one. Either way, the nWo beatdown of Hulk's opponent is starting to get a little old. Quote
